Wizk had never felt quite right in her own skin. Which was saying something, considering the nature of their species. A species that literally creates their own skin, one would assume there would be little room for error. And yet here Wizk was, staring at herself in the mirror as she pondered and lamented over the image she saw before her. Don't get her wrong, she loved herself. Her cute, round lips. Her vibrant, colorful fur. She was very proud of the form she had taken on, and her body worked hard for her. But as much as she would remind herself of this the negative thoughts always had their day to shine. Not persistent, thankfully, only bubbling into her mind every month or so.
But this month she'd decided she had had enough. She was finally going to experiment with her form. She never had before, despite knowing she was able to. Why had she taken this long to attempt such a thing? Well, she really had no good reason for waiting it out. Perhaps she felt if she acknowledged the ill feelings she had about her image it would lend it validity. Or perhaps she'd realize she didn't like her self in every form she took. It was daunting. No, she would do it. It would be fine.
Taking time to work herself up she finally straightens her back, giving a final look at her reflection before focusing on the shift. She struggles to visualize exactly what form she's attempting to take, mind awash with static that made it hard to think clearly. But she manages, claws clutching the sink as her magic reformed. It takes a drawn out moment of focus before a sigh escapes her, and her magic settles. She lifts her head, and opens her eye.
Or well- eyes. Technically there was only one, but there were two sockets. And a mouth. She reaches up to feel this new face of hers. She was.. cute. Claws trace over the soft curve of her button nose, trailing down across plump cheeks. She turns her head side to side as she examines herself. Her hair is light and bouncy, catching her eye as she moved. She takes a few steps away from the sink, filling the mirror with the reflection of her new body. This was not what she had expected. She wasn't sure exactly what she HAD expected, but it definitely wasn't this. And yet, she found herself quite tickled. She even found herself smiling as her hands found the soft curve of her tummy. Looking further down, she was greeted by a pair of quite humanoid feet. She wiggles the toes a little as she looks them over. Wow, she had really managed it.
Emboldened by the successful body shift, Wizk settles on attempting another round. Giving her current form a fond little farewell before it retires, she refocuses her attention on her magic. It was easier this time to shift, body seeming to pick up on the action quicker this time. This time she takes on a more curious form, more for a laugh than anything. Only her lower half shifts, legs returning to their cccat form as her upper half remained the same. A laugh escapes her, delighted by the sight of the familiar appendages. She makes a few poses, then carries on to the next.
This time, she was almost fully back to normal. The only difference was the humanoid face that stared back at her in her reflection. Upon seeing this she couldn't help but to snicker, cracking up over this funny looking form. What an odd thing to look at, she couldn't recall seeing any skire use this form before. It was good for a laugh. Having had her fun, she relaxes, and decides it's time to change back. Perhaps distance made the heart grow fonder, because as she shifted back, she found her form familiar and beloved.
