Work Text:
Night Raven College, a sun-drenched afternoon in the theater, bustling with excitement over the upcoming play directed by Vil Schoenheit, showcasing the legendary Knight of Dawn.
---
Vil paced the empty theater, the sound of his polished shoes echoing off the grand walls. The stage, adorned with elaborate set pieces and vibrant backdrops, felt both alive and daunting.
This play was a monumental opportunity; the government had tasked Night Raven College with a performance that would showcase their talents to the entire region.
The pressure weighed heavily on him, each passing moment increasing his anxiety.
' This Play must be perfect! '
The rehearsals had begun, but Vil noticed a growing unease among the students.
The roles of the knight were too lofty for some, and others were too wrapped up in their insecurities.
' Two weeks left before the show ' Vil sigh..
He rubbed his temples, trying to find a way to motivate his cast, but his thoughts felt jumbled, and frustration simmered just beneath the surface.
' Something is missing...'
As he took a moment to collect his thoughts, Vil wandered backstage and stumbled upon a familiar sight.
Silver, the quiet yet determined student, sprawled out on a pile of costumes, fast asleep. Sunlight filtered through the dusty windows, casting a soft glow like a moon light on his silver hair.....
.
.
No....
.
.
but rather it makes his hair more like sunlight..
His expression was peaceful, completely oblivious to the chaos surrounding him. It was like a beautiful sleeping prince who fell in deep sleep by a curse and can only be waken by a true love's kiss.
It was beautiful
Vil couldn’t help but smile, a small breath of relief washing over him. Silver was truly had this naturally beauty look and much less like a lost prince in a place full of villains.
He was determined and noble, even if he often doubted himself. Sometime even Vil wondered on why he got accepted in the NRC when clearly he is the embodied model of RSA. He understand Kalim but this....is truly a mystery.
Vil settled on a nearby stool, watching him sleep. It was peaceful like watching a painting.
If he is correct, from what he heard is that Silver is a knight along side Sebek. Truly wondering on how the silver head boy can fight. If he can easily succumb to sleep, he even see him fall asleep in his broom practice giving Coach Vargas a heart attack. At that thought Vil chuckle.
A knight? Huh?.... Vil observed Silver who was asleep and imagine him with a white knight outfit with blonde hair like the Knight of Dawn.
Then it struck him ....Silver could be the perfect fit for the role.
An epiphany blossomed within Vil.
' Of course! Silver was meant to play the Knight of Dawn! ' Vil thought as he was overjoyed..
.
.
.
' How could I be so stupid!! '

The sound of footsteps jolted Silver awake. He blinked up at Vil, confusion etched across his face.
“ Vil? What’s wrong?” he mumbled, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. His eyes flickering like a jewel making Vil more excited.
' I found it! '
“Nothing is wrong, but Silver I want to ask you something ” Vil declared, his voice confident making Silver confused.
He never really interact with Vil before unless it was work or just simple greeting so it was strange.
Silver sat up, puzzled. “Me?”
“Absolutely,” Vil replied, the corners of his mouth turning upward as he then drop the bomb.
" I want you to play The Knight of Dawn "
Silver who was listening was stunned at the unexpected words. Him? Play?.... Wouldn't it be disrespectful to father?
“You have an inherent nobility, and when you act, I see a glimmer of the knight within you. It’s time you embrace that side.”
Vil then said making Silver snap out of his thoughts.
“But I—” Silver started, hesitating. “I’m not sure I can do it. I don’t have the experience or talent like some of the others.”
Especially that he will be playing the knight who is like the taboo of the Fae community and added that he was raised from that said community.
“Stop right there,” Vil interjected, his gaze sharp and that moment knew that he had no hope he can escape this dreaded plan.
“This is your opportunity to grow. You may not see it, but you have an inner strength that could bring the character to life in ways others can’t. Plus,” he added with a knowing smile...
He's getting sway.....this is a problem... Silver thought.
“you need to believe in yourself. Isn’t that what the Knight of Dawn would do?” Vil finished as he look at Silver straight in the eye.
Silver contemplated this, uncertainty lingering in his eyes.
' Maybe I could change his mind? '
“What if I fail?”
Vil stepped closer, his voice softening. “What if you don’t? You’ll never know unless you try. You owe it to yourself to seize this moment. The entire school will be watching, yes, but it’s your journey. Show them what you’re capable of but also show to Lilia what you are capable off "
After a long pause
It seems he can't escape his fate after all making him sigh as Silver nodded slowly.
“Okay, I’ll do it.”
“Good. Now, let’s get started!” Vil exclaimed, clapping his hands together with renewed energy. He took Silver’s hand and pulled him to his feet, a newfound determination igniting in both of them.
' I hope Father would understand....

As the days turned into rehearsals, Silver began to shed his doubts after telling his father/Lilia who was just supported him despite knowing the latter had mixed emotions.
' He could not understand.....'
With Vil’s guidance, Silver immersed himself in the role, learning the intricacies of the Knight of Dawn.
The other cast members rallied around him, and soon, he was no longer just a timid sleepy student but a leader in his own right.
' Yes, just like it ' Vil thought as he watched Silver act in the stage.
It was like seeing a real life version of Knight of Dawn coming back to life after being dead however instead having sunlight hair, he rather had a moonlight one.
It's just a pity that nobody had seen the knight's real face to the world even till his death. Making Vil sadly sigh...
Yet, Vil noticed something troubling...... Lilia, the enigmatic vice housewarden of Disomania.
He knew the latter was old....when I mean old ...old. He was also mention on one of the history books as the General Vanrogue.
Just at the thought of that makes Vil shivered. He was often depicted as cruel and merciless to his enemies and added that he was present during the war as one of the main major generals.
Lilia would often watch rehearsals with a distant look in his eyes, anxiety creeping in whenever Silver took the stage making Vil curios.
One day, during a particularly intense rehearsal, Vil caught Lilia’s panicked expression as Silver delivered a powerful monologue while wearing a full replica of the Knight's Armor.
His face turned paler as it could be as his body was trembling no matter how the latter hide it.
Vil called for a break, concern etching itself across his features. He approached Lilia, who was visibly shaken.
“Are you alright, Lilia?” Vil asked gently.
“ Yes....just a memory...” Lilia replied, voice trembling.
Understanding dawned on Vil....Lilia could also had seen the real Knight of Dawn when the latter was Alice and probably had a fight with it.
A trauma...... Vil realize as he look at Lilia with concern. How could I be so stupid..
As Lilia took a deep breath, Silver approached them, the light of determination in his eyes. “I’m ready for the next scene,” he said, his voice steady.
" Then.....let's go.." Vil said as he guide Silver to the dressing room as it was the knight’s death...the next scene is.
However once he passed by Lilia as Silver was infront of him. He could hear him muttered making him curious.
.
.
.
.
" He truly looks just like him "

As they rehearsed, the lines between their past and present began to blur till it was time. The day of the play.
When the night of the performance finally arrived, the theater was alive with anticipation.
As Silver took the stage, embodying the knight with grace and strength, Vil watched proudly at the stage.
' I truly selected well....' Vil thought. It truly like seeing a real life version....It was like the Knight of Dawn being alive as he could hear multiple gasp of admiration around him.
Silver the with the Knight's costume raised his sword blinding everyone by the lightness that reflected it with his hair turned into blond sunlight colored swaying from the artifical winds with the fake fire surrounding him as he face off the fake dragon and then fight.
* SHIIIINNNNGG
It was truly like watching the history unfold in his own eyes. Vil thought. He truly did choose well...his instincts then never truly failed him. As the battle unfold in the stage.
' I truly did ' As he then clapped as it reaching the climax along with everybody in the theater. It was truly deafening.
' A mission success...'
However as Lilia stood backstage watching the play with mixed emotions. Memories of the past then came flooded in... as it reach it climax
It was like watching him that scene again...Lilia thought as his hands subconsciously clenched as he calm himself down or fearing accidentally hurting Silver in his owns hand.
The scene....the final battle that decided the fate of war.
The battle of Meleanor... Malleus’s Mother and Knight of Dawn..Silver's Father.....resulting of their downfall surrounded with flames.
He then breath in and out as Silver gracefully battle the fae dragon actor on the play. As realization suddenly washed over him.
.
.
He battle just like him
.
.
.
.
Just like his own father....
