It was a normal day for Team New Nippon, who were looking through their decks to see what they could improve for a small tournament later that week.
Arata who wanted to carry on the name of team Nippon and was the reason why they had formed. As he started with getting Makoto to join by admitting he had a crush on him. They soon had meet Noa as well who used a different clan from Ninja master M but Arata didn't care as he wanted Noa on their team. He didn't want anyone else other than Noa.
“Ooooo what about this card Makoto?” Noa held up a Murakumo unit that he knew Makoto didn't use that he got from a pack he opened.
Makoto took a look at the unit. “Hmm sorry Noa it doesn't work as well as some other cards I have in my deck.” Makoto had a specific strategy that the unit unfortunately didn't work with exactly.
Noa nodded. “Ah ok I'll keep looking then!” He went back looking over the other cards again to make sure he didn't miss anything as he was happy with his deck so he wanted to help Makoto and Arata see if there was anything that they could change.
Makoto smiled seeing Noa's cheerful attitude as Noa's positivity was infectious to them. Well normally as Arata seemed to look like something was bothering him being in his own world. He wasn't paying attention to anything else.
“Arata…Are you ok?” Noa asked noticing that he didn't seem happy. He seemed to have some Tachikazi units that he was going to consider so it couldn't have been that he assumed. Arata didn't hear Noa as he kept his voice low not wanting to startle him.
Makoto gentle placed his hand on Arata’s shoulder as that usually brought Arata back and get his attention knowing they were there. As Arata looked around as he tended to take a while to realise his surroundings again Makoto spoke up. “Arata, Noa asked if you are ok. I want to know as well as you seemed upset about something you know we don't hide anything from each other or try not to.” Makoto smiled to give Arata some comfort to try get him to open up.
“Ah… sorry Noa I wasn't trying to ignore you I just….” He hesitated as he thought it sounded silly but seeing Makoto and Noa look at him with warm and attentive looks made him realise he had nothing to worry about. “Well I have been thinking about it and I don't think I should be the leader of the team anymore. I'm not good enough compared to others. Why don't either of you two take over as the leader of this team?” He waited for their reactions which Makoto and Noa were confused by him telling them to take over.
“No way Arata!” They said simultaneously after trying to gather their thoughts by the sudden question Arata proposed to them.
Makoto put his second hand on Arata's other shoulder to get his attention when he wanted to seriously get something across to him. Which left the two staring into each other’s eyes. “Arata you are our only leader. That will never change forever I would never be here if it wasn't for you Arata. You changed my boring days into something I don't regret, being with you two.” Makoto admitted as he really didn't have much of social life before meeting Arata and Noa.
Noa nodded in agreement with Makoto as he placed his hands on one of Makoto's hands on Arata's shoulder and the other on Makoto's shoulder. Lifting himself up a bit since the other two were taller than him but wanted to be as serious. “You are the only one who is our true leader and neither me or Makoto. You are the one who started this team wanting to continue the legacy of the original team Nippon and we will do that with you as the centre of attention being the leader.”
Arata didn't know what to say as he started to tear up a little. Out of happiness he had teammates and people he loved to be kind to him. The three hugged each other for a while as Arata needed a hug from both of them.
“Thank you both I honestly had to hear that.” Arata said moving back and wiping his face near his eyes gently to dry them.
Noa smiled seeing Arata was happier now. “No problem at all. We are hear for you, same for you Makoto just saying for the future. Now how about we train after you two adjust your decks if you have something to.” He suggested as he grabbed his own deck.
“Alright then you're on Noa. Also Arata don't worry if you lose or anything as that doesn't change anything we said. We are just doing this for fun.” Makoto said to make sure Arata didn't worry about it now after comforting him as he didn't want him to lose having fun with something he loves.
Arata gave a nod. “Alright then let's do it.. after I adjust my deck of course.”
Noa and Makoto nodded as the three got ready to face each other and have as much fun as possible. Arata did manage to win once against Noa as he got bad luck against Arata with his draws and hand but they all had as much fun facing each other bad luck or not.
