Work Text:
'The Captain' was the proficient and enigmatic leader of the infamous Blue Crew. Her mysterious origins, striking blue horns and sharp cybernetic enhancements were only a few of the many things that made her a notoriously feared figure in the underworld.
Her team was known for their merciless and deadly efficiency. When together their wildly differing origins were strikingly apparent, yet somehow, they still complemented each other perfectly.
But this presence was all an act, one to only show their enemies and strangers on the street. They kept their cards close, rarely speaking openly with others unless a job required it. In private however this could not be further from the truth.
The second their Captain returns back to their remote base on Pantora she can hardly get through the door without some new drama, usually revolving around Welo. He was the youngest of their crew, a spryly blue twi’lek with a deformed and stunted lekku. He often has new demands for the Captain on the daily, whether he’s asking her to find some weird obscure food that has magical force healing properties or telling her to spy on the elderly neighbors who acted a little too suspiciously on his last snack run to the corner store, (they had smiled at him).
Being the youngest was amongst many of Welo's self-imposed flaws. Feeling the need to always prove himself he’d often jump at any opportunity to do so, dangerous and mundane alike. Welo had been basically adopted by the crew when a mission on Ryloth went south as the war finally reached the once peaceful planet, resulting in the death of Welo's parents. Ever since then he's wanted to pay back the blue crew by training to be helpful to them, which is hard since Captain still won't even let him carry a blaster. Ironically though, whilst on the ship he mans the main battery.
Then there was Muffet, a white gigoran whose hair was never not amazing. She was the first to meet the Captain before the war and officially start their merry gang of mercenaries. Always adorned with blue ribbons and beads she was very hard to miss. However, you'd be lucky to see her at all as she usually keeps to herself in her room. Always at her console keeping dibs on any and all news flowing in from throughout the galaxy, meaning finding the crew their next job or mission was one of her main tasks. Having multiple spy-ware systems hacking info directly from republic channels had made this child's play for her.
When Muffet does leave her den, expressing herself mostly through hair and fashion is largely how she chooses to communicate with the others what she's feeling; her translator of course being (according to her) highly unfashionable and jarring. Muffet's simple and straightforward way of life often times leads to her butting heads with Welo’s obnoxious and obvious attempts at self-realization.
83 was The Captain’s droid and the crew's main pilot and medic, built from old speeder parts he was a bit cobbled together, but thanks to Caps' constant attentive tunes ups, was still fast and lethal. To his dismay however the labor and other monotonous household chores often fell on him. Knowing his capabilities he often finds himself having mini existential droid crises, like a microwave being used as a tuffet he can’t find any logical reason as to why such “far beneath him jobs” like ‘dish washer’ or 'night light' became his responsibility. He's also the only one keeping Muffet and Welo from smothering the other in their sleep.
The newest member of the crew was Tressik. A dark and imposing Trandoshan hybrid, though no one knows what the other half of his species was, it definitely added to his massive size and venomous aura. Captain had scouted him, knowing his reputation she had decided to not so subtly stalk the man until he'd finally gotten fed up enough to lure her into a trap and question her. Whilst strung up in a rather uncomfortable sack she explained her need of someone for a specific job.
A pompous and highly corrupt senator with a taste for ‘exotic breeds’ had a bounty placed on her head by her very own people. The job paid disgustingly well so that even after she expressed her desire to use him as the bait he agreed.
The plan was to kidnap the politician from a senate ball on Coruscant. Tressik posing as a rich and charismatic donor and The Captain as humble kitchen staff. Shenanigans ensued but eventually they managed to pry the senator away from her highly wary Wookie escort and into a secluded room long enough to drug her and wheel her concealed body out in a food cart.
Such a ridiculous plan had forced the both of them to drop their usually high and professional walls to one another. Growing close after the mission Captain eventually invited him to join The Blue Crew.
Now together, they all live in a small, largely abandoned, industrial settlement on the far outskirts of Pantora City. The majority of their base being concealed by trees and other small shops makes it easy to hide the giant landing platform for their less than legal ship. When authorities do come snooping, they double as speeder mechanics, laundering the money. The 2 or 3 other locals are happily paid off in free work or un-traceable credits.
