Work Text:
Before Dona brutally beats Cujo, our scene starts in Steve Kemp’s holding cell. He was put in there with a few other delinquents who were caught in the last couple of days. One was put in for accidentally shoplifting a candy bar. The other was in for smoking crack and was hiding a folding spork in his armpit. Kemp was brooding like the small man thing he is, and like the tiny man thing he is he has to make it everybody's problem.
“That god damned woman just had to snitch.” He turns to the guy on the left wall. He was the one who smoked crack.
“Women, they want ya then they don’t. Can you believe that? They want you to screw them then they tell you to go.” The guy, who is still high from smoking crack, gives him a blank look reaches for his armpit folding spork, twitches, and says.
“I don’t know man, but if a guy talked about my girl like that he’d be dead,” Kemp laughs, shakes his head, and decides to choose death by opening his mouth.
“You? You manage to bag that cat? Those poor women,” After he finishes his sentence the man with the now unfolded armpit spork punches Kemp in the nose. Taken utterly by surprise Kemp’s head was knocked back against the wall and his nose started to bleed. He only gets a second of clarity before the cracked-out, spork-wielding man follows up with a kick to his legs. Kemp then howls in pain and grabs his leg alerting the guards that were posed. Even with now being made aware of what was happening. The guards could only rush uselessly as they jingle and gangle their keys in a rush to open the door. As they struggle, and do the comical scene where every key is the wrong key even though they all look the same, our folding spork user finally stabs Steve Kemp just below the trachea right into his esophagus. Blood began to trickle out of the wound and rise in his throat. Kemp claws at his throat as the guards continue to struggle with their infinite number of keys. By now, our innocent candy bar stealer has crawled into a corner and started to prey.
Kemp eventually goes limp and stops his angry gurgles as the guards finally find the right key. It was the only different one on the ring. The spork wielder has passed out by then and our shoplifter has started to silently cry. The body was removed and cremated a week later because nobody wanted to have a funeral for Steve Kemp.
