Work Text:
It was a beautiful day in Smiling valley, and the sun shone through the window, waking up a particular little puppy. And that puppy was named Lunette.
The young light-fuscia colored puppy with dark fuschia ears sat up and stretched, then got out of bed, happily bounding down the stairs, his long cat tail flicking in sync.
He walks into the dining room, where his dad was busy setting the table.
“Good morning little biscuit!” Dogday says with a smile.
Lune smiled back. “Hi daddy.” He says.
He looks around for his other dad. “Where’s papa?”
Dogday giggles. “He wanted to sleep in some.” He says. “Why don’t you go wake him up?”
Lune nods. “Okay!” He says, walking towards his parents room.
He opens the door, peeking inside.
Sure enough, Catnap was curled up and sound asleep in bed.
Lune crawls onto the bed and over to him, gently licking his nose.
Catnap opens one eye. “Mmrh?” He mumbles.
Lune smiles and waves. “Hi papa.”
Catnap giggles softly. “Morning little star.” He whispers. “Why are you up so early?”
Lune giggles. “Daddy told me to come wake you up.”
Catnap smiles, rolling his eyes. “I figured.”
Lune snuggles up to catnap, who gently wraps an arm around him. “How did you sleep?” Catnap asks.
“I slept great!” Lune says with a smile. “I had a dream about being a superhero, and saving my friends from a flood of lava!”
Catnap purrs and nuzzles his head. “Sounds like a good dream.”
Lune nods. “It was.”
A few quiet minutes later, Dogday opens the door.
“Alright cuddle bugs, sleepy time is over.” He says with a smile. “Breakfast is ready!”
Catnap sighs, “Ok little one, you heard him.” he whispers, sitting up. “We gotta get up.”
Lune tumbles out of bed, running to the kitchen. “Yay! Breakfast!” he says.
Dogday smiles to Catnap. “He’s such a little ball of energy, isn’t he?”
Catnap giggles, getting up and giving him a kiss on the cheek. “He gets that from you.”
Dogday blushes and smiles. “I know.”
~Miniskip because characters eating breakfast is boring~
After a wonderful breakfast of Toast with grape jelly and orange juice, Lunette set out to go see his friends.
His first stop was the Stone tower to the northwest of his parent’s house.
He knocks on the door, waiting politely.
The pretty white unicorn opened it up, looking at him.
“Oh hello Lunette!” she says with a soft smile.
“Morning, Mrs Crafty!” Lunette says with a little wave. “Are my siblings awake?”
Crafty nods. “Yes they are.” she says. “I’ll go get them.” She says, inviting him in.
Lune smiles and walks in. “Where are Paulie and Mr Kickin?”
Crafty giggles. “They went out early to practice their skateboarding skills.” she says. “Hopefully they’re not trying to grind on the roof of Mr Bubba's house again.”
Lune giggles and nods. “I hope so too, Mr Bubba got SO mad last time.”
Crafty smiles. “You can sit on the couch while I go get your siblings.
Lune nods, going to sit on the couch while Crafty walks up the spiral staircase in the center of the room.
While he was waiting, he looked around at all the pretty paintings on the walls.
He really admired Crafty's skill and talent for making art, she made simple paintings look like photographs.
Suddenly, he heard two voices call his name.
“LUNE!”
A little yellow puppy with a horn blue ears and a little lilac kitten with blue hair and a matching tail run over to lune, tackle-hugging him.
He giggles happily, hugging them back. “Hey guys!”
“We missed you!” The kitten named Cady says.
“Yeah, you haven’t come over in a while.” The puppy named Pepper says.
Lune giggles. “Well I've been kind of busy,” he said. “Getting ready to go back to school in a week or so and stuff like that.”
The twins nod. “Yeah, we understand.” Pepper says.
“We’re just glad to see you!” Cady adds.
Lune smiles. “Well I'm glad to see you guys too.” he says. “Wanna go play?”
They both nod. “Yeah!”
All three of them smile as lune gets up off the couch.
“Mama, can we go outside and play?” Cady calls to the kitchen.
“Sure, just don’t stay out too late!” Crafty calls back.
“Okay!” they all reply.
The three then go outside, Cady and Pepper skipping together as they follow their brother, Lune.
His next stop was the Beehive-shaped house in the southwest point of the valley, where his other two friends lived.
He gently knocks on the door, the lovely red bear answering.
“Well hello there little ones!” Bobby says with a sweet smile. “How are you today?”
“Good!” “Great!” “I’m doing fine.” They answer.
“Good!” Bobby says with a clap.
Lune smiles “Can you ask Casey and Berry if they wanna play?”
Bobby nods. “Sure, dear.”
She went back inside, and a few minutes later, Two bunnies came out. One was mint green and chocolate, and the other was colored red and green like a little strawberry.
“Hi guys!” Berry says. “What’s up?”
Pepper smiles. “We were wondering if you girls wanted to go play?”
Casey smiles back. “Oh sure!” she says. “How about we all go to the park?”
Everyone agreed on that, so they all went to the park together.
At the park, everyone was doing different things.
Cady was flying her kite that she had made, Pepper was skipping stones on the lake, and Casey was trying to catch bugs with her net.
That just left Lune and Berry, who were sitting next to each other on the bench and watching the fluffy clouds go by slowly.
“That one looks like a dinosaur!” Berry says, pointing at it.
Lune looks. “Oh yeah!” he says.
He spots another cloud. “That one looks like a castle!”
Berry looks. “Ohhhh, pretty!” she says.
Lune nods. "Yeah!"
He then gets another idea, standing up.
“Hey, who wants to play hide and seek?”
Everyone smiles.
“Yeah, sounds fun!” “Sure!” “Yeah, why not?”
Lune smiles. “Great! Everyone, hands in the middle.”
Everyone puts their hands in the middle, and Lune starts the Eenie Meenie Miney Moe thing.
“-If he hollers let him go, Eenie Meenie Miney MOE!”
Lune’s finger landed on himself.
“Darn…” He said. “Guess I'm it.”
Everyone else giggled.
Lune covers his eyes. “Okay, I’m counting to twenty, the last person to get found wins!”
He says, smiling. “One, Two, Three…”
Everyone else runs off to go hide as lune counts..
“...Eighteen, nineteen, TWENTY!”
Lune says as he finishes counting, uncovering his eyes.
“I’m gonna come get you!” He says as he starts looking around.
He finds Pepper hiding in a bush, Casey hiding in a tree, Casey hiding inside a hollow log, and Berry hiding in Ms Picky’s garden.
“Alrighty, since I found Pepper first, he has to be IT next!” Lune says.
Pepper sighs disappointedly, but starts to count, covering his eyes.
All the kids spent the rest of the day playing hide and seek with each other until they all got tired, Berry and Casey going home.
Lune was happy to have fun with almost all his friends.
~Transition~
At the end of the day, lune and his two siblings were sitting on a cliffside to watch the sunset.
“I had a lot of fun today, how about you?” He asks.
“Me too!” Pepper says happily, his tail wagging.
“Same here!” Cady adds, happily.
Lune smiles. “Good!”
After a while of watching the sunset, Cady stands up.
“Well, it’s getting late…” She says. Maybe we should head home.”
“Yeah…” Pepper agrees, standing up as well. “I don’t want her to get mad at us.”
Lune giggles. “Okay!” he says. “Maybe we can play together tomorrow!”
The twins smile, nodding.
They wave goodbye to Lune as they start off back towards their mom’s house.
Lune smiles happily as he continues to watch the sun set.
The future is bright in Smiling valley.
