Chapter Text
It's a lazy Sunday afternoon and the soft sound of rain patters against the window. You and Tsukishima Kei are curled up on the couch together, the faint glow of a show playing in the background, though neither of you is paying much attention. Kei has taken his usual spot—lying across your stomach, his long limbs hanging off the edge of the couch as if it was made for him.
He adjusts his glasses, mumbling something under his breath about how you need to stop moving, but there's no real bite in his words. His head rests comfortably on you, and you can feel the gentle rise and fall of his breathing. You reach up and run your fingers through his soft blond hair, and he immediately relaxes, his eyes fluttering closed almost on instinct.
"That feels nice," he mutters, his voice heavy with sleep. His usual sharpness is gone, replaced by a rare softness that you adore dearly.
You chuckle softly, continuing the slow, gentle motions, letting your fingers tangle through his hair in a way you know he loves. "You're such a cat," you tease, though your tone is fond.
"Mm, whatever," he murmurs, shifting a little, nuzzling into you like he's settling in for a nap. His breath evens out, and you know he’s drifting off, his usual stoic exterior melting away completely in the warmth of your touch.
The world feels soft and distant, just you, Kei, and the rain as the quiet moments stretch on. As his breathing deepens and he falls into a peaceful sleep, you smile to yourself, feeling sleepy as well. There's nothing you’d trade for these rare moments when the usually prickly Kei lets his guard down entirely, trusting you to bring him comfort and peace.
You turned off the movie you were playing and slept soundly with Kei enjoying the sound of the rain trickling down.
