WhiteLune: I'm better because of you

Summary:

For those of you looking for a BL AU to Summer Night The Series. Here's a WhiteLune ending. You can consider this a rewrite.

Work Text:

(A/N: I've posted this on wattpad yesterday. But thought that maybe some of you on AO3 may need this. This is a new level of pettiness that I didn't know existed within me🤣🤣🤣 I can't tell you how much I dislike Star's character. Like I really don't. Since Ivy drew the line🤭🤭 n the bromance was strong between White and Lune. I decided to write a WhiteLune oneshot. I hv no idea where this was going to lead. It's not my best work since I'm just writing it as I go. But let's do it anyways. One thing to note, I really really don't like Star, so it's not going to be a nice read if you like her. 😅😅

***

Lune has always thought Star was the person he was meant to be with. He had secretly admired her from afar until White had changed the course of his life with a single kiss.

He had brought him into the folds of his group of friends that included Star, the girl of his dreams

He had brought him into the folds of his group of friends that included Star, the girl of his dreams. Never in a million years did he expect her to reciprocate his love. But yet everything felt wrong. It felt wrong to be keeping things from White and deep within him that was a sense of wrong that was screaming at him for reasons that he didn't understand. He couldn't begin to understand until the day White found out about him and Star. The look on his face shattered his heart.

The fear of losing him was so profound, he had all but forgotten Star's existence

The fear of losing him was so profound, he had all but forgotten Star's existence. The quiet sorry was met with a cold stare but his eyes carried all the hurt that he couldn't voice out. It hurt more than rejecting Star all those months ago before they got together.

When he got to know of White's trouble and the possibility of him getting expelled, he couldn't sit back

When he got to know of White's trouble and the possibility of him getting expelled, he couldn't sit back. The thought of never seeing White again froze his heart. He feared the very thought of losing White.

He didn't want to run away from his problems. He no longer wanted to live in fear. No matter how hard he had to try. No matter how slim the chances were, he won't give in. He couldn't describe the moment he found the evidence to help White. He couldn't describe the exhilaration he felt for finally being able to solve his own problems.

White, thank you for letting me know I have the courage that I never thought I did

White, thank you for letting me know I have the courage that I never thought I did.

Nothing beat the moment when White forgave him. It set his heart free.

But the moment when he wished him happiness with Star, it tugged at his heart

But the moment when he wished him happiness with Star, it tugged at his heart. He couldn't explain the pain that coursed through him but he forced a smile. He was in a daze ever since until Sera mentioned that she was leaving for the US. The sleepover was more than he bargained for. He didn't expect the girls to put make up on them. He didn't expect them to accentuate White's features. He had always seen White as handsome but at that moment he realized he was beautiful too. The mascara made him realize how long his lashes were, that blush, especially his lips. But he was broken out of his own thoughts when White commented how cute he was and wanted a kiss.

He couldn't give in

He couldn't give in. He just can't. He won't be able to control himself in front the girls. But what was worse was to realize that he'll be bunking with him that night. He couldn't well reject the idea of it. It would be awkward since there really wasn't any where else for White to sleep that night.

You can do it, Lune. It's just one night.

He didn't expect White to be hugging him to sleep but there was no way for him to get out of his vice grip

He didn't expect White to be hugging him to sleep but there was no way for him to get out of his vice grip.

Sleep, Lune. It'll all be over in the morning.

He tried to convince himself. But the next moment he woke up, he didn't expect himself to be staring at White. He couldn't really move around with how he was position and it was still dark, which meant there was still hours before White or anyone of them would wake up. What's worse was the fact that he couldn't fall back asleep and all he could look at was White's plump lips. It's been his obsession the moment after the girls put make up on White. He wondered if it was the lack of sleep, before he knew it, he was already pressing his lips against White. He wanted to pull back the moment he realized what he had done. But he didn't expect White to respond to his kiss. He could no longer control himself as he sucked on White's lower lip. He didn't expect to feel the electric current running through him. He felt White licking the seam between his lips, asking for entrance. He couldn't help but gasp. White took the opportunity and explored his mouth with his tongue.

How could a kiss feel this good?

Lune couldn't help but whimper at the lost of White's lips.

"Shh... No one wants to wake up now. We had a good dream, didn't we? We will wake up soon." His words clenched at Lune's heart. White was willing to cloak it as a dream. It wasn't a boundary he was willing to breach. Lune would wake up and he will be holding Star's hand and not White.

***

His heart had been drifting further and further away from Star since that night. Or had it been longer than he thought? Because at this moment, he realized Star really wasn't who he thought she was. How her sweet face contorted into the devil itself. He had no idea why she would be angry at the fact that he wanted to throw a surprise farewell party for one of her best friend?

He had no idea why she would be angry at the fact that he wanted to throw a surprise farewell party for one of her best friend?

Nothing made sense. He wanted to laugh when she thought he still loved Sera. It wasn't even close.

It was a mistake.

A mistake that he started this relationship. The sweet innocent face was a facade. What she said was true. He didn't like seeing the real her. From the moment she forced him to choose between Sera, his very first best friend and her. He finally saw through her and how ugly it was. He couldn't believe how self centered she was. He regretted that he almost lost White for her.

"Let's break up then." Star couldn't believe he suggested it before she even did. She screamed and threw a tantrum at him but she was met with the cold fury in his eyes. He left before he did something he would regret. He was glad she was gone when he came out of his room.

***

He had sent Sera off as planned. White, Ivy, Jewel and his boyfriend came. It surprised him when it shouldn't. They value friendship after all.

"Lune, do you want me to speak to Star?" Sera asked. He shook his head with a  smile.

" It's not your fault, Sera. Our issue is a whole lot more than that. I just feel like I'm losing myself if we continue." He felt White hugging him from the side in support. Sera sighed.

" You can call me if you need someone to talk to but I'm sure our friends here will support you." He eyed Ivy a little oddly. He doubt she will be on his side. Truth to be told, he was a little surprised that White still stood by him. He was broken out of his thought when Sera spoke once again.

" Don't feel guilty about the past anymore. You came this time. We're good, okay?" Lune nodded. He wondered he was imagining things when he saw a shadow in a distance but decided to let it go since White was complaining about how hungry he was.

***

" You could be with Star now if you want to." Lune couldn't help the nagging voice in his head as he looked at White. White had decided to accompany him after their meal and they were walking leisurely at the park.

The idea that White would be with her clenched his heart but it had been a torn at his side. He knew how much White loves her. So even if he left Star, White still wouldn't be his. He watched as the stone skipped across the water as White threw it.

" Nah, sometimes Stars are just meant to be admired. Not to be taken." He smiled at him as he spoke. Lune felt his heart pounding after what he said.

" White... gu (I)... gu (I)..." He felt White's finger on his lips before he could continue.

" Don't rush into things. You're still in the heat of anger. Once you are sure, we'll talk. No sooner." All Lune could do was nod. How right he was because trouble started brewing since.

***

Star wouldn't let things go. It felt as if she had expected him to come crawling back to her after Sera left. As if she thought their friends will guilt trip him back to her but none of them did. He had no idea what she was doing behind his back until she blew up in class during break time.

He had forgotten his bag and was heading back to get it. Jewel went with him since he wondered what was taking White so long. Ivy found it strange that Star hadn't come out of the classroom yet after she came out of the toilet. None of them were prepared for the scene before them. The moment they came into the room, there was a loud smack where Star slapped White across the face. Nana and the few other students who were in the room were shocked.

" You said you'll be there for me. That you'll always help me. What are you doing now?! You can't do anything! Lune hasn't apologize, we aren't back together. What are you doing, White?!" She screamed at White, who didn't say a word as he looked away. The look of guilt on his face pulled Lune out of his stupor.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?! Our relationship is between us and it doesn't concern White! I won't let you hurt my friend because you didn't get the message. We're over. OVER!! You can get over yourself. We can't get everything we want in life." He pulled White with him and left the room. Everyone was shocked when they heard Star screaming like a banshee.

He had fled to the art scrap room but he didn't expect Jewel and Ivy to be with him. They were scrambling around looking for the first aid kit. Ivy ran to get a cold pack.

"She really pack a mean hook." White joked. Lune had no idea how her nails had clawed into White's face but all he can do now was clean the wound. When he was done, Ivy had arrived with a pack of ice.

"I'm fine. I'm really fine." White tried to convince them but the look of concern didn't go away.

"Gu khor tord (I'm sorry)..." Lune apologized to White but he waved it off.

" But I didn't think Star would be this.... crazy. How long have you been keeping this from us?" Jewel asked. White's silence was a quiet admission that it went longer than necessary.

" Just forget about it. We only have a few months left." Lune and Jewel sighed at White's answer. Ivy was strangely quiet in all of this.

***

Star didn't allow Ivy to forget about it. She was at her doorstep by the time she reached home. She had went on and on about how White wronged her and caused Lune to misunderstand her. Suddenly, he was the cause of their breakup.

"Enough, Star!! Do you know how much White has done for you? What more do you want to get out of him?! Lune said he was selfish one when both of you hurt White but now I start to realize that the selfish one is you." Star was shocked by Ivy's words. She couldn't believe her best friend would say that to her.

" I thought Lune was wrong to break up with you but I understand now what he meant when he told Sera when she left. He would truly lose sight of himself if he continued the relationship with you. We would never have known the real Star that was hiding. I'm sorry. I think we need some time out. I just can't anymore." She closed the door leaving Star alone on the porch.

Ivy cried herself to sleep that night. It was painful to know that Star was taken when Lune was her boyfriend. But it was heart shattering to know that everything she had with Star was a lie. She had always been more concern about herself than any of them. She had been using them all these while.

***

The tension could be felt in the classroom the next day. When Lune and Star broke up, most had figured that Lune would be in the wrong. But no one knew the true details of what happened. White and Jewel were still friendly with Lune and Star, so their classmates didn't think too much about it. Perhaps it just wasn't meant to be. Lune didn't receive the bullying that he had expected. White had laughed at him, reminding him that they had his back. But what went down between White and Star was known to them. The plasters lining White's face was a reminder of what happened. Ivy choosing to sit with Jewel and not Star was a clear sign.

None of the three of them would allow Star to talk to White. Ivy had regretted that she went soft on her and close an eye when she did the day after the incident. She thought she would apologize to White for slapping him. If she did, she would forgive her. But she guilt trip him to get the three of them to speak to her instead, telling him how everything was his fault. Sadly to her, not only did Ivy, Lune and Jewel witnessed it but Nana and a few others saw it too. That was when true isolation began. The whole class had stopped speaking to her.

***

"White!! She manipulated you and she continues to do so. Why do you want me to be there for her or for any of us to speak to her?! She doesn't think about anyone apart from herself." Ivy wanted to strangle White in frustration. Lune and Jewel had no words to it.

"She has no one, Ivy. We'll be finishing school soon. Whatever that happened, she was once our friend. I just don't want this to be a bad memory for all of us. Can we just end on a good note?" Tears rolled down Star's face when she heard his words from the door. She was angry for the isolation that she felt. She had blamed everyone in her anger, especially White. It was now that she realized that he had never went back on his words, he had truly been there for her all this while.

"White..." All eyes went to the door when they realized she was there.

"lao khor tord (I'm sorry)... I'm sorry for hurting you. I'm sorry for hurting all of you." White just smiled, letting her know all was forgiven. The three of them remained unmoved wondering how sincere her apology was. Lune was wondering when the next shoe was going to drop. He laughed at how predictable she was. Just that evening, he saw White following Star to the art scrap room to talk.

"White... I was wrong. I didn't realize my feeling for you. I didn't realize how long I have loved you." Lune's heart froze at what she said. He should have known this day would come. But there was only a sad smile that crossed White's face.

"If you had told me a year ago, you would have made me the happiest person alive. But right now, we both know it's wrong. You don't have to be with me for the others to forgive you. lao khao chai na ( I understand). This is a scary place to be, but people will forget. You will have a fresh start and form new memories better than this. This isn't the end. You will be on your way to become a famous fashion designer soon. Star, just remember that you are loved." Star sobbed at White's words. Ivy entered the room, hugging her tightly as she stroke her back in comfort. Lune stared at White, who held a soft smile in response. Lune couldn't help but smile back.

***

The world of a 16 year old is a strange one. After all the drama that had happened, things were relative calm and back to normal. It was as if nothing had happened within the group of friends. Star had learnt to be considerate and place others interest at heart. But no matter how much she had change for the better, it didn't bring Lune back. He had remained quiet about the topic of getting back together, only focusing on the boys as they joked and talked excitedly about comic drawing. They were still waiting for the results. She had quietly accepted the fact that he had moved on and nothing would sway him back to her. She was glad that she had her fashion designing to distract her. They had helped her realize her dream when she got to run her first fashion runway of her collection for their last day of school.

Lune couldn't look away from White when he saw the show piece he was in.

Neither did he missed the way White looked at him when he done the Star's design

Neither did he missed the way White looked at him when he done the Star's design. There was a lust in him that mirrored his. But he didn't get a chance to acknowledge it when they were rushed to the runway.

"White..." Lune called to him when he saw him staring off to the night sky.

"It's a good place, Lune. I like how calm this place is." White complimented when Lune suggested they come up to the rooftop.

" It was a good place but I've stopped coming here in a while. The meaning had changed. I wanted to leave this place with a good memory." White looked at him curiously.

"I've thought clearly, White. In fact, I've known for a long while and felt I've waited too long for this." That got White even more confused.

"Gu chaawp mueng. chaawp mueng jing jing (I like you, I truly like you). It's been so long that I don't know when I've started to fall for you. Now that we're ending the chapter here. Can we begin ours?" White could sense the vulnerability in Lune's eyes. All his answer lied in his kiss as he pressed his lips against Lune's. Lune poured all his longing for White as he kissed him back passionately. When they stopped for breath, White leaned his forehead against Lune.

"I wondered when you were ever going to ask." Lune chuckled at what he said.

"You could have asked, I would never say no to you." White smiled against his lips before laying another kiss on his lips. A smirk appeared on his lips after.

"Then I have a lot more to ask from you."

***

Lune reminiscent the past as he looked through the halls of his school one last time.

I used to walk alone until I've met you

I used to walk alone until I've met you. I have never been lonely ever since. You've turned me into a much better person than I think I could ever be. Because you love me more than I could ever love myself. Walk together with me forever na? I never want to walk on without you in my life ever again.

Love you, my White.

A/N: I had no idea my level of pettiness went this far where I rewrote n squished the SMN into a oneshot  for WhiteLune to happen. I initially thought it will be a short one since it was just for fun. I didn't expect it to be this long😅😅 This is really not quite my writing style since I'm still trying to fit it with SMN vibe. Give Star the redemption it needed. Definitely not my best writing.

What do you think about it?

Does the ending work?

I'm sorry I'm a little too tired to write a smut after squeezing everything in😅😅 but did any of you expected one?

I mean I like SMN, I am satisfied with the ending. I just didn't like Star n how she had zero character development from start to end. So I had use this oneshot to let all my dissatisfaction out😅😅😅I'm sorry that you have to suffer through it.

Please leave a kudos if you like it😘😘
