Work Text:
A very bright flash of light surrounded them for a longest of whiles.
The team was unable to move. It was as if the light stream controlled them somehow. They could not resist it, no matter how they tried. The lot of them stuck to their places, their minds going numb, their thoughts no longer their own.
And soon, darkness beckoned, them all falling flat onto the ground, as finally, the light was being extinguished.

The Coruscant Guard were on site to investigate as they usually did, something in the neighbourhood.
It was a very old temple right the outskirts of town. The building itself having been abandoned for a long while. Never refurbished due to the simple nature of it. Well, nobody really knew the real or whole the truth. But the temple was said to be haunted. And so, no one daring to tear it down either, if rebuilding was not an option. Nor did anyone dare stepping inside of it.
Until now.
As something usual was reported happening there. The locals having been alerted the Coruscant Guard and them having arrived to check it out. It was their job after all.
“Anything?”
“Nope, not a soul or undead in sight.”
They were joking to relieve the tension, alas taking ghosts and ghouls and such seriously? Well…
“So, this was all a hoax then? Kids playing pranks on the locals?”
“Wouldn’t have been the first one. Nor the last. The kids around here are getting antsy.”
“Better take one more scan of the place and a visual check before we head out though. Just for the record.”
They did.
But something having gone unnoticed by the Corries. That of someone or something being aware of them. Something having come alive because of them. Unaware though, the Corries were ready with their inspection of the place.
“Nothing new so far.”
“As excepted.”
“Better head out. We have another job after this one waiting in line.”
Just as they were about to leave, to head out, the lights brighter than twin suns, hit the team. Incapacitating them all.
*
They were waking up one by one, the lot of them confused and groggy after the shock to their systems.
“Wha… what happened?” Fox the first to get his speech ability back glanced around, seeing the rest of his team getting their bearings.
“Something hit us and hard too.” Stone deduced.
“Like a weapon?” Hound was checking himself over, making sure he was still mostly intact at least, the others following his example doing the same.
“Nope, we’re still all alive and well?” Thorn having run the scans of the others, finding nothing unusual there or any injuries either.
“So, what was it? I mean I feel… good?” Thire did feel good, the others nodding their agreement.
“My headache from earlier is gone.” Fox revealed, a surprise perhaps, but he had drunk a lot of caf, so guess that could be the reason behind it as well.
“My knee feels okay.” Stone admitted as much, his old injury sometimes acting up.
“So, some kind of healing device maybe?” Thorn contemplated on the light.
“Well, this is an old temple… so???” Hound was sure there were all kinds of hidden things, except they had found no indication of such with their scans.
“We should report this to, well the Jedi maybe?” Thire suggested then.
“Sounds like a plan. They could check from their historical library if this was Jedi or not.” Fox agreed.
As so far, none of the religions, Jedi included having laid claim to this one, single temple. Leaving it discarded for as long as anyone could remember.
“We should get moving. We still have a few stops before calling it a day.” Stone urged the team.
The Corries left the temple, unharmed, perhaps in a slightly better mood too.
Alas nothing much to report back except maybe that there were some healing devices inside the temple? Or then not. Whatever it was, it wasn’t a ghost or ghoul making the ruckus in the temple.
Case closed.

Several days passed without any changes to the routine for the Corrie team.
But then, some odd things started to happen. Small things, nothing to really noticeable at first, alas they did. Notice. Eventually.
Like the fact of escaping a tight spot with their lives. Being able to move a caf cup with a thought?Things like that. Nothing out of ht ordinary, right?
Well, nothing too big anyway. Nothing the group of five would want to report to anyone at first, even if they had mentioned those things to each other.
“So, we just chuck it all off as regular stuff we do now?” Stone asked Fox.
“Yes, it’s not like we have superpowers.” Fox agreed.
“Okay, then we are in agreement.” Thire added.
They all agreed. A pact, of sorts. Nothing to see there for anyone, right?!?
*
It was all minor things, like they had agreed. Just a few extraordinary happenings to the team members. Nothing to report home about.
Until that all changed.
The security op having gone awry, badly so. The firefight having injured Hound, the trooper having by a thread. The team had gotten him to safety, but he was bleeding out and fast.
“Leave me! Get yourselves outta here!”
“No, mate, we’re not leaving anyone behind.” Fox was adamant about that fact.
The four of them exchanged glances and it was like they could talk to each other suddenly, without words. The five of them sharing the same connection out of the blue.
“We can do it Hound. We can save you.” They all spoke to him in the connection.
Four sets of hands finding their way over Hound’s body, holding them there, their minds concentrated on the one thing only. That of Hound and his wound and not letting him die.
They were in total silence, their minds working as one.
It took some time and a lot of effort, but their combined powers were starting to heal the wound. Soon, closing the nasty gush all together.
“What the???” Hound had to speak out loud, even if he was still in the connection with the others.
They all looked at him and each other.
“So, that happened.” Stone noted.
“Yeah, it did.” Neither Thire nor Thorn were sure what had happened, but apparently, it had.
“So, we’re all Jedi now?” Fox just had to ask.
Perhaps. Or something supernatural of the similar.
