haunted aura

Summary:

Laurance would tease Garroth as the two linked hands and walked into the haunted house together. It was huge, but the lobby area was gorgeous in interior. Covered in purples, oranges, and blacks with all types of decor. It was really one to trick someone if they were too naive. But neither of them were that naive. They could make out of this haunted house alive, couldn't they?

Work Text:

Laurance insisted on having Garroth go into the haunted house with him, everyone else was practically paired up. He smiled at the other, who finally sighed in defeat. “Fine, I’ll go in with you. But no scaring me on purpose,” Garroth spoke with a slight giggle. “Aww, that’s the best part,” the brunette would tease as the two linked hands and walked into the house together. It was huge, but the lobby area was gorgeous in interior. Covered in purples, oranges, and blacks with all types of decor. It was really one to trick someone if they were too naive. But neither of them were that naive. Of course, a scare actor was at the front desk of the “lobby” to “check them in”.

As the two walked up together, preparing for the worst, the actor did its job.. Well tried to. But the two men weren’t exactly scared by it, more so because they had a feeling it was coming. However as they got “checked in” and went into another room, the lights purposely went out which made someone scream. “Laurance, was that you?” Garroth spoke out within the dark, his typical laugh echoing in it a lot. “It was not me!” Laurance pouted, defending himself to the accusation of screaming. However this led to the blonde tickling the other, making him laugh loudly.

“I know you screamed, Laurance,” Garroth teased him for a good minute before he stopped tickling the brunette, his laughter slowly going down to a stop afterwards. “Fine,” the other pouted as the two of them continued to walk the hall together. It stretched out long, the hallway felt like it was going to go on forever. They walked in the pure darkness, until they heard a whisper which made them both freeze. “What the fuck was that?” Garroth immediately questioned.

“No clue,” Laurance replied back, holding onto Garroth for dear life as he cautiously looked behind him; a set of red eyes staring at him. He screeched, running ahead and grabbing Garroth by the arm to drag him along. The blonde looked confused as to why he was dragged and why Laurance was so scared, but it only made him freak out too and run faster instead of just being dragged by the brunette. “It’s chasing us!” he managed to scramble out as the two ran like kids. They could eventually see a light at the end of the hallway… a pathway to freedom.

Laurance and Garroth ran into the room together, hearing it automatically lock. They looked at each other whilst catching their breath, both honestly a bit shocked by what just happened. “Shit,” Laurance finally spoke up as he blinked slightly. “Shit is right,” Garroth agreed with a nod.
The brunette stared at the other, encapuring his mood, appearance, all of that. It was somewhat showing the fear they both had. They randomly agreed to finally keep going, walking around the room to see what it had offered for them. The light in this room was still existent, just way more dim than a normally lit room.

The room seemed omnious, like an escape room. It had a bunch of stuff put in random orders, which Garroth was immediately catching onto as he tried to solve the puzzles in order to get out. Laurance was more observing than anything, but since he wasn’t as focused on the puzzles he could tell the room was getting darker by the minute, and he could hear some kind of quiet music in his ears, it was creepy. His eyes looked over to Garroth, who was currently solving a puzzle. “Do you hear that?” the brunette asked the other with raised eyebrows.

“Hear what?” Garroth questioned, looking up slightly from the puzzle. Suddenly all the lights got cut out, making the blonde get up since he was crouching. He took in heavy breaths as he tried to remain calm. “Laurance?” he called out, hoping the brunette would answer… be there still.

“I am here, Garroth” the other replied, letting Garroth relax a little from hearing his voice.
Laurance took out his phone, turning on the flashlight to the phone. He walked over to Garroth, breathing heavily. They were just both relieved the other was okay, but they also had to find a way out of the room. There was only one door, and after Garroth double checked it was still locked. The two were clueless on what to do, continuing to look around the best they could using the phone flashlight. The song got louder, it felt it was seeping into Laurance’s skin. “Where the fuck is the exit?!” he shouted out, getting more into a state of panic due to not being able to find it.

“I don’t know… this is fucking ridiculous,” Garroth took in a deep sigh as he squinted his eyes, trying to look at the small nook and crannies for even a singular hint to the exit. He touched random things with the small hopes he had, hoping at least one thing was a secret button as his panic only continued to increase by the minute. Both of them were panicking, questioning what kind of haunted house would do this.

Finally, everything felt like it stopped. The music that was growing in tension stopped, the lights turned on even brighter than before, and something opened. It was a hatch on the ground that had opened, so close to their feet that they had to shift to not fall down it. It wasn’t very steep of a hatch, but neither of them were sure at this point. Laurance turned off the flashlight to his phone, before the two of them locked eyes. Confusion was laced within Garroth’s expression, the brunette noticed that immediately. But he knew his eyes and expression were the same way as he took another look around. Finally his eyes locked on the door again, which had a paper on it saying “HATCH” with red covering the paper. It was poorly taped to the door like it was a last resort.

Laurance bit his lip, looking back at the hatch. He got inside of it, Garroth confused at first but followed him as it fit the both of them. It was another hallway, one with a bunch of messages on the walls and holes in the walls. The hatch shut, and the two started to walk down the hallway. This is where the scare actors started to actually get the men, Laurance staying close to Garroth to the point he was clinging onto him. Garroth was returning the touch, almost just as terrified. From the red all over the messages and walls, to how long the hallway was, it was all over the place. It was another one that made them feel like they were going on forever. But each other’s company felt more comforting as they finally saw an exit, one that looked dark but promising.

Laurance took Garroth’s hand, hopeful. His cheeks flushed but he ignored it, and the blonde’s did too as he interlocked their fingers. Then they ran like they were going to win a track meet by making it to the door, a smile on both of their faces again as the screams going around were fading into echos. The exit made the brunette feel less fearful, more safe. When they made it to the end of the hallway they stopped by the door whilst panting. Laurance’s eyes softened as he looked over at Garroth again, watching him breathe slowly. The blonde hummed, before their eyes met again. “Ready for what’s next?” Laurance asked, which got a nod from Garroth. They both looked ahead of themselves again, once more screams could be heard from someone that just entered the hallway, far down. It echoed through as Laurance’s shaky hand grabbed the door knob and opened it. A hint of darkness hit them but they were practically pushing themselves into the room before it closed once more.

It was the last room of the haunted house, and they both knew this as they could hear chatter from outside. They also saw a huge red EXIT sign which was above a door, and Laurance immediately assumed it would be easy. But once going to the door and realizing it was locked, he was stuck again. Garroth this time looked around and found a red button under a table, pressing it which caused the door to swing open. Laurance couldn’t help but chuckle, watching Garroth walk back over to him after. “Solved it,” the blonde hummed, seemingly proud of himself.

“Good for you,” Laurance jokingly scoffed as he pushed the other, leaving him to giggle as the two then made their way to the exit together. The door closed behind him, and he took a deep breath of the fresh air. It was nice, but not as nice as escaping that damned haunted house, and everyone waiting for them. They all seemed to be waiting with anticipation, and when they finally saw the two they all gave mixed reactions. It made the brunette think. “Did you guys like… bet on us?” he asked the rest of the group, which made them laugh. “They definitely did,” Garroth replied to Laurance’s question with a nod. But betting aside, Laurance was just happy the other was safe with him. That they were both safe. It was a fun experience though, and he’d definitely do it again despite how scared he was. What was next? Candy apples. So that’s what they all left to do, but Laurance felt an aura follow him as they left the haunted house. A bittersweet aura that he couldn’t shake off… despite how delusional he felt for feeling that way. But he tried to leave and ignore whatever the haunted house brought to him. However, it would leave a mark on the brunette forever despite being such a simple time of a simple day.
