Work Text:

It was a typical day at UA. Classes were going as normal.

And of course, someone was going to get injured. It always happened.

Izuku made his way to his boyfriend in the middle of class during a break, finding Hitoshi leaning against a wall.

"Ready for the next part?" He asked.

"Mm, jus' give me a few..." Hitoshi's words were surprisingly slurred.

"Toshi? Did something happen?"

"Yeha... hi' the wall, head hurs." Hitoshi rubbed the spot where his head met the wall, then winced and dropped his hand.

Izuku frowned. "We better go get that checked out. You don't sound good."

"No!" Hitoshi straightened, then winced again. "Can' le' sensei be disappoin'ed."

"We'll talk to him first." Izuku wrapped an arm around Hitoshi and steered him towards their teacher who was watching Kaminari, Mina, and Kirishima with a done expression.

"Nooooo." HItoshi whined.

"Okay, what's 5+7?"

"...hurts to think, can't think straight."

"That's what I thought." Izuku marched up to Aizawa, face set in determination as he dragged his boyfriend along with him.

Hitoshi squirmed wanting to get away.

"I think Toshi has a concussion," Izuku announced.

Aizawa raised an eyebrow at Hitoshi. "Is that true?"

"'m fine! Just hit my head a little and needed to sit. I can keep going, Sensei!"

Aizawa stepped closer and studied his eyes, then checked the growing bump from where his head hit the wall.

"Take him to Recovery Girl," Aizawa ordered.

Izuku nodded and started walking.

Hitosh struggled to walk in a straight line and didn’t even want to go so he ended up flopping into the ground.

“…ow…” he groaned.

Izuku sighed. “This concussion is making you more ridiculously stubborn than usual.”

“Like you aren’t the same!”

Izuku shrugged. “Maybe I don’t want you to be like me, Toshi. I want you to be the best hero, and my stupidity and stubbornness pushing myself too hard ruined my hands and I don’t want that for you. So come on. It’s not like the concussion was you being stupid in the first place. I didn’t like going because I hated the lectures I got while I was recovering and sometimes still in pain.”

Toshi blinked at him. “If I don’t remember this ‘cause I can’t think straight, you gotta tell me this again when I’m better, Kay? Sounds like this is a serious conversation we need to have.”

Izuku sighed and nodded. He didn’t want to have the conversation but when they started dating they agreed that they would communicate about stuff like that when it came up and not hide things.

Then he picked Hitoshi up and started carrying him.

Hitoshi pouted. “No fair, you know I find it hot when you carry me,” he whined.

“Well we’re not getting anywhere fast with you like this.”

“I guess.” Hitoshi rested his head on Izuku’s shoulder. “My head really hurts, Zuku.”

“I know. That’s why we’re going to see Recovery Girl.”

Hitoshi sighed.

“It’ll be okay. Recovery Girl will take care of you, and I’ll stay with you if you want me to.”

“But class-“

“Aizawa sensei didn’t tell me to come right back and I can do my homework while I’m sitting with you.” Izuku responded stubbornly.

"You're really not going to leave me alone?"

"Never, only if you ask me to and mean it."

Hitoshi sighed and closed his eyes. "Fine. Just make the pain go away."

"Don't worry, we're here." Izuku put him on the bed, and told Recovery Girl about Hitoshi's symptoms.

Recovery Girl did a quick examination to confirm, and then Hitoshi was fast asleep.

Izuku watched him with a fond smile, brushing hair out of his face.

Then he settled in and did the work.

When Hitoshi woke up, he was feeling a lot better, and Izuku was there to give him kisses before they actually talked.
