Mk and Mei had been hanging out with Redson for a while now, Redson basically being their friend even though the fire demon would go up in flames denying it every time with an embarrassed blush on his face.
I mean, how could Mk and Mei not consider Redson their friend? The guy literally saved the whole world with them and defeated so many villains who tried to bring chaos, he's basically a hero!
Whenever the trio would hang out together it was always Redson (or Mei but mostly Red) paying for them, even if he doesn't like the place because it was either 'low quality' or 'peasant food.' You cannot say it was not friendship behavior.
Recently though, it would mostly be Mei and Redson hanging out more since, you know, Mei still needed to learn how to control her samadhi fire as it would still appear whenever the dragon girl would get really upset or to excited. Mei would always show Mk new tricks she learned or told Mk what's happened and if the fire demon would mention him, or if the fire demon would complain about how annoying he is. Mei even tried to bring Redson along with her to go visit Mk after training but the demon would always shake his head, denying her offer as he would have to 'finish his project' or had to do something else.
So with that being said it was mostly Mei hanging with Mk or Mei "hanging" out/training with Redson. Sure Redson would try to hang out with Mk or both of them but it wasn't often he did. Mei had gotten Redson a phone with both their numbers in it so the trio always chatted in a group chat that Mei had made just for them.
But even if they talked about their day or Redsons new invention, Mk would still feel a bit of loneliness within him. He definitely missed hanging out with Redson and Mei together, and sure he had his dad's and Sandy but that wasn't enough.
One night after training with Monkey king Mk was at a cafe, as a attempt to relax himself before heading back home to flop in his bed. While he waited for his order he couldn't help but glanced at the girl who was making it for him, watching how quickly she moved to make it. Mk guess the girl had noticed him staring, as she had gotten a sticky note and wrote something down on it before sliding it to Mk with a small smile and went off to the back room.
Mk was a little confused about why she had given him a noticable smirk but soon figured out why when he saw that a sticky note had been placed on his cup, the note having a number on it with the words "Call me:)" on it as well. Mk didn't know how he felt about this, but still smiled as he went to go drink his cheese tea.
Once he had gotten home he took his shoes off as well as his jacket and fell on his bed, his back hitting the mattress. He took his phone to check the time but once he had turned on his phone he saw that someone had texted him back, and it was the girl that had given her number to him. Mk texted back, and soon he had realized that he had stayed up past midnight texting his new friend.
Mk sent his new friend a quick goodbye message, saying goodnight before turning his phone off and getting comfortable in his bed while the busy city provided him music. As Mk laid in his bed he couldn't help but wonder.. how would his friends, Mei and Redson, react to his new friend? Awh it would probably be fine, it's not like they would get mad at him or anything.

.....That was when Mk realized something..
HE FORGOT TO ASK WHAT HER NAME WAS!!
