Chapter Text
Venti, or also known as Barbatos, the God of Freedom, has a habit to sometimes fall asleep for multiple decades or even centuries. He remembers the adventures of the Traveler as one of the last things before he went to sleep. The memories being a bit blurry from his recent loss of the Gnosis. A Gnosis is an Object that was given to him when he became an Archon, essentially a god, that would give him a connection to Celestia, also known as the home of the gods. Since the Gnosis had been intertwined with his innate power some of his memories also got damaged when it was stolen. But that is a tale for another day.
Now that Venti awoke, it wasn't due to the cry of his children but due to him not feeling sleepy anymore. It was strange, this has never happened before. There was no way there would be no trouble in the long time he had slept. So when Venti teleported into a forest near a city he realized a major change in his surroundings. This wasn't Mondstadt, but some other city. The city was blocky and grey, with many buildings reaching into the sky, with strange vehicles Venti has never seen before and humans in all shapes and forms, quite literally. There was a person with a triangular head, someone made of flames, one had metal spikes instead of hair. It felt surreal. And their clothes looked very different from the ones in Teyvat. None of this looked like Teyvat. And then he encountered a sight he couldn't believe. There was a guy, whose hands looked like molten metal, that was taking chunks of the street, throwing them at a woman in a neon green and white bodysuit, who stopped the chunks by manipulating the ground at her feet. It looked like mud until it solidified again as a wall. She inched closer to the lava-handed guy until she moved the street to hold him down. The people standing around the scene cheered as the man was arrested by people in blue uniforms. The woman smiling in the direction of strange devices that flashed light at her, she was standing in a winning pose.
Absorbing all of the words that flowed with the wind, Venti soon got an understanding of this society. It was very different from Teyvat. There were criminals, that are called villains since they use their powers, which are called quirks and a majority of the world possesses, to commit evil deeds. And also heroes that fight these villains with their powers, although you need to have a license to use your ability in public, which you can only get by graduating from a hero school and taking a test afterwards.
It made Venti quite a bit unhappy, since this meant he would not be able to use his wind powers. Such less freedom compared to Teyvat, where you were free to use your powers as long as you didn't commit a crime. But he guessed it was more complicated here, since most of the population has a "quirk", which is more individual than a vision, as well as more complicated to keep a track of than only seven elements.
Hahhh... Now a problem for Venti would be, that he could not earn his money soley from playing an instrument, you would need some documents and all of that to earn real money on a larger scale. And for that you would need a confirmation that you actually exist in this world. A birth certificate or similar would be detrimential for any future plans Venti had. He wanted to explore this new world, but documents were so hard to get...
Yes, Venti believed this was a different world from Teyvat. It wasn't far-fetched, considering the creator of Teyvat came from another world, as well as the Traveler he recently met. He would need to find a way back to Teyvat, when he finished his exploration here.
... He already missed interacting with his children. It gave him a sort of security when he resided in Teyvat and especially in Mondstadt, since he could help his people at any moment's notice. The loss of such connection left a heavy feeling in his heart.
Still, Venti decided to travel from one city to another, earning money, although only small sums, by playing his lyre on the streets. He used this experience to gather intel through his expanding branches of wind and time. It resulted in him gaining a wide range of information from the past and present.
Thanks to some strict rules in this country, Venti would have to engage in forgery. Something he has done in Teyvat several times. Mostly to prank and annoy Morax, the God of Contracts, although it did come in handy at a later point in time. Creating an illusionary paper with his anemo, or wind, powers would be a piece of cake at this point. The only real problem had been to find a reference to copy, but that was fastly resolved with the sound of the wind carrying some images to his mind. Thanks to this, he could finally start his real plan.
His plan was to move from his current location, called Germany, which has a language with a striking resemblance to Mondstadtian, to a place called Japan, which is supposed to share a lot of culture with Inazuma, as well as its language. Why would he do that? Well, because Venti wanted to earn his hero license by attending a hero school. And what better place for that than the world's greatest hero academy UA high? Yes, Venti wanted to try to graduate from this school. For once he wouldn't take the freedom for himself, but follow the rules. The reason being that he didn't want people to be scared of him, since using his "quirk" would make him a villain.
Soon Venti left Germany with a real passport, that he got from an agency that prints them for citizens. The only problem had been getting an apartment for that very short time, so they would have a place to send it to. Shortly after he left and flew to Japan. His first impression was, that the buildings were even higher than the ones in Germany.
According to his passport Venti was 15 years old and his full name was Venti Kaiser, Kaiser being a family name that isn't too rare in Germany, but also not too common. With this his stage was set. He would only spend one month in middle school, he even had an excuse as to why only one and not more. Then he would take the UA entrance exam and attend there. UA would take 3 years, so he would then be, per his passport, 18 years old. Then he could start working as a hero and be free to use his powers in front of others, although he wasn't planning to take part in fights as most aspiring heroes wish to be. He would like to be a rescue hero that saves people from underneath collapsed buildings and such. And as a side job, he wanted to be a musician. This was also a reason why he wanted to attend UA, because they had a teacher with a voice quirk that was a hero, as well as a radio moderator. Venti found some inspiration in that and wanted to meet him. He really hoped he taught first years.
Now Venti was standing in his newest apartment, tomorrow was his first day of middle school... And he already didn't like it. They had a dress code and their uniform was a boring black. They wouldn't mind if he wore his hat, would they?
