Chapter Text

The ride home was silent all you could hear was the sound of the motor and the sound of tires rushing down the dirt road making you rock violently around the back seat of the truck.

Staring down at the phone in your lap you dare not turn it on, the last thing you wanted to do was draw attention to yourself, if only you had brought your earphones with you…

Finally making it home you flinch as two car doors were pushed open and then slammed closed you mother and her boyfriend stumbling out and into the house. Watching them from inside the car as your mother races to her room and her boyfriend right after her ready to pick a fight.

He slammed the door behind him not even acknowledging the fact you were still out there. Silent still this time accompanied by your racing heartbeat and the sound of you picking away at your nail polish in stress. Should you get of the car now? Can you go inside? Will the slightest noise set him off again. You didn’t know, maybe you should just sleep in the car.

No

That’s ridiculous this was the house your father payed for your mother and you, you shouldn’t be afraid. Swallowing your fear you open the door with some new found courage and march straight to the door swinging it open with out a care only to cringe as it makes a loud creek that spreads throughout the silent house. You feel your body run clod as you quickly but quietly close it and then rush to your room when you hear the loud sigh of a man.

A warning sign that something had irritated him and know he’s going to make it known.

Closing your bedroom door you standing in the middle of your room staring at it as loud shuffling and then muffled yelling starts to make its way through the door.

Your breathing quicken and your eyes sting as you hear a slurry of profanity in a language mother didn’t bother to teach you passes through your thin door at to you ears.

It’s going to be a long and loud night one filled with your quiet sobs the arguing between your mother and her boyfriend and the scary sound of glass being thrown across the house.
