One Bed

Summary:

Mozzie sleeps over at Neal's

Notes:

Written for Flufftober Day 17: Only One Bed

Work Text:

It was late. Neal and Mozzie had worked all day on a forgery for a con they were doing. Well, Neal worked while Mozzie drank his wine. The thing is, it was now the early hours of morning and it made no sense for Mozzie to go home then come back in the morning. He had to sleep at Neal's.

"But there's only one bed here."

"You can sleep on the couch, I've seen you doze off there before."

"That wasn't for a night sleep. I require a proper bed to be well rested for what we have planned tomorrow."

"I'm not sleeping on the couch in my own place."

"Why not? I'm the guest. You should accomodate me."

"Fine. We'll share the bed."

"I warn you, I move a lot while I sleep."

They took place in the bed, both arguing over the same side of the bed, but Mozzie relenting and accepting to move sides because after all it was Neal's bed. Neither of them slept much that night. Mozzie was right, he did move a lot while he slept or even tried to sleep. And Neal snored. Slaps were sent across the bed and the birds were singing outside by the time they both fell asleep for good

"Ah, isn't that sweet."

They were awaken by Peter's arrival. All ready for their con of the day. Ready to catch a criminal not unlike them.

"Next time, I'm sharing a bed with Peter, not you."

"May I remind you I already share my bed with my wife? I have a couch though."

"Not wanting the couch is how we ended up in this less than ideal situation," Neal said.

"Couldn't have been too bad, I did find both of you sleeping, maybe you just stayed up too late working. And maybe you were too wired over the upcoming day. Or really you two just aren't used to sharing a bed with someone."

"Maybe that was it."

"What? No, it was your snoring keeping me up. I can sleep in any situation." Mozzie said.

"Can you? I sleep next to a snorer every night just fine. It's like white noise." Peter said.

Mozzie sighed and he made up with Neal. They shared a hug, admitted this was just an unusual sleeping situation and agreed to have breakfast before work to get their spirits up.

Months later the situation presented itself again. They had worked hard all day catching another criminal, and all night. It was late and they were both exhausted. Neal suggested Mozzie stay and sleep. He accepted. They never slept better than that night. Exhausted and happy with their day's accomplishments.
