pour my love out for you

Summary:

Over time you began to learn that the coldness in his eyes was just a front for strangers. And as time passed, the coldness in his eyes softened.

Notes:

I miss Levi and I kind of just wanted to write about his eyes. I tried my best with this one! I apologize for any spelling/grammar mistakes! <3

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It was easy for you to remember the cold look in his eyes when Hange first introduced you to him. He looked like he hated you. His steel gray eyes peered at you, trying to open you up and figure you out from the inside out.

You were just as petty, you don’t like people who don’t like you. So for a while you went on your Levi hate train. Except you didn’t really hate him because hate is a strong word. It was easier to like him the more you hung out together within the group.

You remember the jealousy that you had encountered when Hange had mentioned that Levi had a crush on someone. Obviously it would make sense why everyone knew who Levi’s crush was except you.

You remember the kiss he gave you, refusing to let you go, basically holding you in a chokehold.

You remember it just as it was yesterday.

Remembering it, all of it, is easy now that you have him and he has you.

The only reason you’re even thinking about this right now is because Hange asked about first impressions.

“I thought Levi hated me.”

Hange laughs loudly, “What!?”

Erwin merely chuckles.

Levi looks at you confused, “You thought I hated you?”

You look at him sheepishly, “Yeah, I did.”

“You know now that I think about it, you’re right,” Hange turns to Levi, “you were glaring super hard.”

“I’m surprised actually,” Erwin finally speaks, motioning to you, “I know you’re quite petty with situations such as those, how’d you get over that?”

You laugh, “I think it was after I bumped into Levi and spilled his tea.”

“I am so sorry.” you apologize.

Levi clicks his tongue, “Whatever, watch where you’re going next time.”

His voice was so soothing, yet scary. It was strict and demanding.

“I can buy you another coffee, I’m sorry.”

“Black tea.”

“Hm?”

Levi rolls his eyes, “It was black tea.”

“Oh. Oh! Okay, I’ll go buy it for you.”

“No.”

You immediately stop in your tracks.

“Buy it for me next time.”

“Next time?”

He sighs, “You ask a lot of questions. Yes, next time. We’re friends, we’ll be coming back here time after time.”

His declaration of you two being friends warmed your heart.

You smile, “Okay.”

Over time you began to learn that the coldness in his eyes was just a front for strangers. And as time passed, the coldness in his eyes softened.

Hange yawns, “Nice story and all, but I think me and Erwin are going to get going.”

“Yes, we should. We have a big presentation tomorrow.” Erwin confirms.

“Hm, you guys drive safe. And good luck on that presentation.” you say as they leave.

You walk into the kitchen to tidy things up when Levi walks up right behind you.

“That shitty interaction is what changed your perception of me?”

You laughed, “Yes! Because that was one of the only times we’ve actually interacted one on one with each other.”

He sighs softly, “I’m not good with the whole feelings thing. So I’m sorry if I seemed like a mean person.”

You turn to him, “You of all people do not have to apologize for that. Like I said, that one small thing changed my whole view of you. Which clearly tells me that I need to stop judging people when I don’t know what is going on in their mind.”

You can tell Levi still doesn’t look convinced, you grab and squeeze his hands, “It doesn’t matter what happened then because I have you now and that’s all I care about.”

Just when you think his eyes can’t soften anymore, they do, “That’s all I care about too.”

His eyes, they’re such a storm, they hold so many feelings, and the look in his eyes right now is the love that he has put out for you to swim in.

The eyes say everything when one can't.
