It was rare for Leo to properly sit down and compose instead of just making something on the spot, much more rare for him to invite company over while he composes. He’d normally prefer the quiet to allow the melody to flow in his mind, but Arashi seems to be the exception for today. Just the sweet, simple ring of her voice was enough to bring him the inspiration he needed for today.
“I hope you didn’t bring me over just to have me stare at you, although you are nice to stare at, Leo-kun~” Arashi lightheartedly commented as she sat on the edge of Leo’s bed, watching him work at his desk. It was cluttered to the brim with computer wires, half empty beverages that probably exceeded anyone’s daily caffeine intake, and a synthesizer to help him more easily translate his composition into the computer.
“Nah, I just wanna hear Naru talk! I like Naru’s voice!” Leo quickly responded, which was way faster than he normally would while in composition mode.
“Soooo~ What’s the occasion? I thought your favorite way to put down your music was through your dozens of loose leaf paper and any pen you could snatch from a teacher.”
“I got a sponsorship!”
“What else is new? We are in Knights after all~ We get those every day.”
“But not just any sponsorship!!! Y*maha gave me early access to THE Hatsune Miku’s new voice bank!!! So I gotta write a song just for her and test out her new bank!”
“And you’re not using a song you’ve already made because…?”
“Miku deserves her own song!!! Do you think I’m so shallow and close-minded that I only make music under ES, Naru? NO!” Leo could’ve stopped there, but now Arashi had him on a tangent. “Here!” Leo minimized his window where he was working on his song for Miku, and opened up a new tab to Nico Nico Douga. There, he searched for a certain account under the name of “RaihaP.” “Tada~ Making a new song for the sake of my beloved virtual idol is nothing to me!” And the amount of songs that covered his account was decently plentiful. Arashi really expected nothing less from someone like Leo.
“Oh my! Am I the first to know this too, Leo-kun?” Arashi skimmed through the list of songs, though they all seemed to be named unusual and arbitrary nonsense rather than the more coherent song titles she’s used to. Leo nodded proudly.
“Naru told me her secret after all, so you get to know mine!” Arashi thought this was hardly fair. She only told Leo the bare minimum of her troubles on that fateful day before the Starlight Festival, but this…this had to be before Leo returned back to Knights. It felt like she was reading someone’s diary, but if the person who owns the diary was giving her permission, it must be okay.
“I thought Izumi-chan would’ve been the first person to know.”
“I don’t wanna scare Sena with all that nonsense. It might bring up bad memories for him, but I trust you, Naru!”
“Aren’t you afraid of scaring me, Leo-kun?” But Arashi was in no way annoyed. She actually quite liked this little shared secret between them like two friends gossiping about boys at a sleepover. Then all of a sudden, Leo practically jumped out of his chair, startling Arashi.
“The caffeine just hit me! I gotta piss, I’ll be right back!!” Leo rushed to the bathroom.
“...what is wrong with that boy?” The taller Knight shook her head, amused. Then, she realized that Leo had left his phone unlocked and she couldn’t help but take a quick glance at something that had caught her attention. “Untitled? Is this the song you’re working on, Leo-kun…?” She muttered to herself. Surely he won’t mind her taking a small peak. She’s already seen this much, what’s a little bit more? She tapped on the play button to have a listen, only to be practically flashbanged by a sudden light. “Ah-?!”
