Chapter 1
Percy Jackson
He always knew that he was special. But it was not a good kind of special. He could see things. Monster's, and it felt like a terrible nightmare. He closed his eyes only to wince as
the memory of his mother being killed by a two-horned monster came into his mind. He was seven and constantly on the run it didn't help that those who had adopted him till now had not treated him nicely no they had been almost cruel to him. One of the reasons why he preferred to be on run another was that people thought him a nutter whenever he told them about what he saw.
But right now he was in an orphanage in Arlington, Arizona. It was horrible here, and it did not help that he had half the bullies in the orphanage baying for his blood.
He ran when he saw Williams and his gang. They were four years older and hated him. He soon realized that it had been idiotic to run in front of them it had done nothing but catch the attention of his gang.
" Hey stop prissy ", shouted Williams
Oh crap he thought to himself now he was going to get a good beating, but he continued running eventually they caught up they were by far larger than him.
He felt himself get pushed and lose balance falling onto hard concrete it hurt his bones like hell.
" Where did you think you are gonna run eh ?? ", chuckled Williams " I no...no. Please don't hurt me ", he croaked
"Eh...Hurt...mmmm..... we will see about that ", and with that Williams picked him up by
his neck and threw him onto a bench
he landed on it with a sick thud. He was not one of the healthy people being on the run had forced him to go through many hungry nights and well as a result he was not healthy and it was often weak people who got picked. Williams pulled his bottle out and he flinched instinctively covering his face.
" Oh do not worry I am not going to hit you I am going to do emotional damage ", said Williams with a smile
He opened his bottle's cap it was one of the last things that reminded him of his mother. He had brought him this one for his fifth birthday. They could not afford much and it had been
one of the gifts which was very close to him.
Williams then proceeded by pissing inside the bottle and dumping it onto his head. He heard his gang and all those around the ground chuckle.
He felt his cheeks burning red.
" Oh see the boy is tuning red ", Williams continued
One of the members of his group snatched his bag from him and overturned it dumping the contents on the ground. He liked to keep his meager possessions close to himself
because if he left his things in his dorms they could get stolen and now he was paying the price. His savings which were around two dollars were taken up by Williams while his gang members scavenged for whatever was left which was not much. There was a small pocket knife, a voucher a fancy pen, and a pin all of those things were now taken by Williams gang members. But what was most close to him was a picture of him and his
mother. It was the only one and now he saw the picture of his mother being torn in front of him he saw red and for the first time he snapped.
He shook as Williams and his gang laughed he punched the guy who was holding his pen
knife did not do much but it did shock him and he wrestled for his knife which he drove inside the boy's chest and he cried out in pain.
By the time others in Williams's group had gotten out of their shock and jumped on him. He dodged two but the third managed to half catch him in the air and sent him tumbling. Williams being the leader came forward and punched him.
" Oh boy you made a very big mistake now there will be a lot of damage ", Williams said with a sneer.
With last will of defiance, he jumped upon Williams tumbling with him into the pond.
He felt as if he had drunk six Red Bulls and he began punching Williams who was half drowned and half startled and did nothing to resist. In the scuffle, he did not notice when he had picked up a stone and he hit Williams with it on the head and kept on hitting until he saw blood coming out from the boy's head.
He felt his heart run cold. No... No what had he done He was no murderer what would his
mother say??
He quickly got out of the pool and felt suddenly very tired but he had to run now or else he would be thrown into jail.
He quickly ran and gathered his things and those of Williams while his goons had run away to call the caretakers.
He then ran as fast as his feet could carry him. There was a wall and beyond it was freedom. He threw Williams's bag over the wall then his and then began climbing the wall and leaped onto the ground.
He opened Williams's bag and threw his books out what he saw there was a lot of pennies and dollar bills which Williams had probably taken from other kids and there were some other trinkets that he would check later. He threw the bag over his head and stuffed his bag
inside Williams's bag and ran away from the orphanage as fast as he could.
