Maybe, this is his superpower.

How he could sense when Mitsuya wasn't by his side, how he could tell when Mitsuya wasn't in close proximity, how he could so easily spot where Mitsuya was, once Mitsuya was out of sight.

It didn't take long for Draken to find Mitsuya after he woke up to the empty bed. So early in the morning, the sun hadn't even fully risen. Yet, there was a smell of tea brewing in the air. Filling their apartment within seconds, indicated that the person who brewed them had moved from the kitchen.

He knew exactly where Mitsuya was.

Standing in the doorway, Draken marveled at the sight before his eyes.

Years, decades, and even more.

As cliche as it sounded, the scene had never once ceased to amaze him.

In his office, sitting quietly as the sunlight penetrating through the window, Draken was presented with the backside of Mitsuya. He hadn't changed, still in his pajamas. His black-lilac hair hadn't touched the comb either.

Hunching over the table, the sound of a pencil echoed in the quiet of the room. Draken couldn't see his face, but he could picture his other half rather clearly.

A pair of glasses perched on his nose already, the laser-focused amethyst eyes following, the hand that danced graciously, sketching on the design he had probably been thinking all night.

There was a stack of paper next to him, along with a cup of steaming tea, that one could mistake him for staying up late 'til the morning, instead of waking up merely minutes ago.

Draken would never get tired of watching Mitsuya doing something he loved, but still.

This was supposed to be the perfect time for them laying on the bed side by side, snuggling to each other under the comforter, pretending the morning had never come.

And yet, here Mitsuya was, already starting the day.

Sighing, he entered the room. A slight halt in the pencil movement showed that Mitsuya noticed the interruption.

Mitsuya didn't even flinch when suddenly Draken draped himself on his back.

"Why you're up so early," Draken complained against the black-lilac hair, voice slightly muffled.

Mitsuya chuckled, using his other hand to cup the back of Draken's head. "You know, I can't stay in bed for long."

"It's Sunday," Draken would never admit that he was pouting. "You're not supposed to be working."

"You look so peaceful, Ken," Mitsuya carded the silky black hair, without stopping the sketching. "I don't want to bother you."

"I woke up and you're not there," Draken huffed. "The bed doesn't feel the same without you."

The shoulder shook with amusement. Draken tightened his embrace as a sign of protest. The action only amplified the chuckle into the laughter.

Mitsuya turned slightly, the trail of joy left the smile on his face.

"I'm here," his tone was teasing, yet indulging. "you see me now, don't you?"

Draken nuzzled the back of Mitsuya's head, burying his nose between the lavender-scented strands, grumbling like a petulant child. "I don't see anything."

"You gotta look in the right direction."

With that Mitsuya angled Draken's head in his direction. Despite the grumble, Draken followed, when his other half pulled him for a sweet, chaste morning kiss.

"Now you see me." Mitsuya smiled against their barely apart lips. "Good morning, Ken."

Draken couldn't help himself from surging forward, coaxing more kisses out of Mitsuya.

It didn't take long for Mitsuya to turn as greedy as Draken was.

Whenever Draken was about to pull, Mitsuya chased him, not letting him off the hook so easily over something he had started. Draken did not complain.

He steadied himself using the table as his leverage, to prolong the kisses. Seizing the chance, Mitsuya looped his arms around Draken's neck, clinging to him like he was the one who couldn't let go.

Maybe, this is his superpower.

How he could so easily influence Mitsuya to give in under his ministration, how he could carelessly pull Mitsuya into the motion, only to end up being taken over.

And Draken had never once minded handing the wheel of control to Mitsuya.

The gentle morning light, the tickling aroma of freshly brewed tea, the chirping of birds welcoming the day; Draken had never wanted to leave his bed for them, unless Mitsuya was in the equation.

When they eventually broke apart, Draken needed a minute to compose himself. Mitsuya was no better. The frantic breathing, the swollen, glistening lips. When his eyes met with Mitsuya's, Draken wondered if Mitsuya was his greatest weakness.

Maybe, this is his superpower.

How could those pair of amethyst contain the secret of the universe, how could the crinkle on the corner of his eyes summon a swarm of butterflies to invade his stomach, how could he after years, after decades, still be able to have the same, if not greater, effect than the very first time Draken discovered about these feelings?

"See me enough?" Mitsuya teased, swirling the black hair that befell so close to his face. Catching the hand, Draken fitted their palms, where the matching rings adorned the fingers, faintly clinked.

"Never," Draken grinned, kissing their entwined hands.

Years and decades were still too short to be enough, that maybe he should resort to forever instead.

Good thing, he and Mitsuya had already promised themselves for the long ride.
