“Surprise!” everyone yelled as soon as Faye stepped into the restaurant that was decorated beautifully with all her favourite colours. A huge grin stretched across her face as her mom and her friends shifted from behind her to guide her towards her seat in the middle of the table. Faye let out a contented smile knowing that she was going to have a wonderful afternoon celebrating with all her loved ones. Within minutes, everyone started to settle down in their seats and the whole room was filled with excited chatter. Just as Faye was about to take her seat, her eyes landed on the empty seats near the end of the long table. Biting her lips nervously, she looked around and realized that there was no other way but to bring this up with her friend. “So er, could we move these seats a little to the right?” Faye asked, hoping that she was not being too obvious. Her friends paused what they were doing and looked at her suspiciously. Then, almost instantly, as if they had read her mind, they started shifting their seats to the right. Before Faye could say anything else, her friend even squeezed in another seat in the now empty space beside Faye. Faye’s face instantly turned bright red but she tried to pretend like it was nothing. Once they settled, they all started chatting happily about anything and everything. They placed their orders and soon the aroma of the delicious food filled the entire restaurant. Just as the food started arriving, the front door of the restaurant opened to reveal Faye’s boss. Faye looked up to see the rest of her colleagues walk in before her favourite person stepped into the restaurant. Instantly, a megawatt smile grew on her face and even she knew that she could not do anything to remove that smile off her face. As soon as she stepped into the restaurant, her eyes met Faye’s and she gave Faye her most endearing smile. Faye could feel her heart racing even though that was the beautiful smile that she saw almost every other day.
Yoko walked in with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and the day was finally complete for Faye. Faye stood up to greet her colleagues and she gave each one of them a hug before thanking them for coming. When she finally turned to Yoko, they both paused for a second before Yoko handed Faye her bouquet. “Happy birthday Phi,” she whispered, only loud enough for Faye to hear. Holding the bouquet in one hand, Faye quickly enveloped Yoko in a tight hug. She could tell that Yoko was enjoying the hug as she heard Yoko take a deep breath to smell her favourite perfume of Faye’s. The hug must have gone on for a little longer than they had realized as her boss had to clear her throat to bring the both of them to reality. They immediately stepped away from each other before Faye guided them all to their seats. Once the rest had taken their places, Yoko looked around wondering where to sit as there were no seats near her colleague. Without a single word, Faye placed her hand behind Yoko’s back and guided her to the seat next to hers. Yoko’s eyes widened a little as she looked at Faye questioningly for a brief moment. However, Faye ignored that questioning look and continued to guide her to her seat. As they made their way to their seats, Yoko paused for a second and greeted Faye’s mom and sisters. After a quick conversation with Faye’s mom, Yoko finally sat down and almost immediately, she felt the warm and familiar touch of her partner’s hand on her thigh. She smiled as she placed her hand over her partner’s and just like that everything felt fine. “Do you want to try this?” Faye leaned it as she whispered into Yoko’s ears. Yoko slowly looked up, completely ignoring how close Faye’s face was to hers. Her eyes narrowed on Faye’s lips and for a second, she did not realise that Faye was asking her to try a dish. When she finally looked up at Faye’s eyes, she could see the way it was taunting her to finish the naughty thought that Yoko had. When she finally noticed the food in Faye’s hand, she glanced at the rest of the crowd to ensure that they were not looking. Yoko then opened her mouth and Faye quickly fed her. As soon as she bit into it, her eyes lit up with joy. Yoko grinned to Faye and moaned in satisfaction as she leaned her head on Faye’s shoulder. Faye could not help but chuckle at how cute Yoko was. Her hand moved like it had a mind of its own and stroked the back of Yoko’s head as usual while the other hand moved to wrap itself around Yoko’s waist.
After a beautiful afternoon of conversations and laughter, it was finally time for them to cut the cake. “You should bring the cake!” one of Faye’s friends suggested. Yoko looked around and saw a few of them nodding their heads. She looked at Faye was who grinning like a baby at this point and Yoko knew she would do anything to keep that beautiful smile on her face. She quickly stood up and went with her manager to collect the cake. Faye eagerly blew the candles on the first tray of cakes and when she turned to her, Yoko quickly stopped her. “Hey! Make a wish first!” she exclaimed and being the obedient partner that she was, Faye quickly shut her eyes and made a wish, the smile never leaving her face. When she finished blowing the candle, she looked her Yoko, knowing that her wish would definitely come true. Everyone returned to eating as Yoko placed the cake on the table. Faye subtly shifted behind Yoko and hugged her from behind. “Phi…We have a room full of your friends and family…” Yoko started hinting to Faye even though she did nothing to move away from Faye. Letting out a deep sigh, Faye let go after a few seconds and a few glances from her friends. “You owe me a long day of cuddles, Ms Yoko,” Faye groaned before she sat down to take pictures with her friends. Slowly, one by one everyone took their turn to take pictures with Faye and finally it was Yoko’s turn. Everyone in the room watched with a smirk on their faces as Yoko skipped to where Faye was seated. Faye watched Yoko with a grin. Yoko tried to stand next to Faye but Faye was having none of that. She pulled Yoko closer to her and made her sit on the armrest as she wrapped her arm around Yoko’s waist and rested her hands on Yoko’s thighs. Both of their faces turned slightly red as the rest of Faye’s friends and family watched the both of them but Faye only tightened her hold of Yoko, making it clear that this was where she wanted Yoko to be. Yoko wrapped her hand around Faye’s shoulder and leaned her head on Faye’s head. Once the picture was taken, Yoko leaned closer to Faye’s ears and whispered, “I love you, Teerak. Maybe tonight, the present won’t have to unwrap itself.” As soon as she heard the words, Faye’s eyes widened. Hiding her smirk, Yoko stood up and returned to her seat. Faye, however, sat frozen in her seat for a second before she stood up with a excited smile. “Best birthday ever!” she exclaimed and instantly everyone burst into laughter. Whatever was about to happen, could happen. But it didn’t matter to her as she knew that she had her family and her Yoko.
