Chapter Text

Andi was lounging on Mel’s bed, lazily flipping through a magazine, though her attention kept drifting to her friend sitting on the floor. Mel had her knees drawn up to her chest, staring at the ceiling like she was having some existential crisis. Andi sighed, finally setting the magazine aside.

“Mel, you are so tahimik today,” Andi said, her tone light but curious. “Parang ang lalim ng iniisip mo, ah?”

Mel glanced up, frowning a bit. “Wala, nothing serious.”

Andi sat up, crossing her legs and looking down at her friend. “Sure ka? You’ve been acting weird all day.”

Mel sighed, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her shirt. “Okay, fine. There’s something.. pero it’s kinda embarrassing.”

“Kelan ka pa nahiya saken?” Andi teased, but there was genuine curiosity in her eyes.

Mel rolled her eyes, but her expression softened. “Okay, okay.. It’s just..well, I’ve been thinking about... kissing.”

Andi blinked, caught off guard by the admission. “Kissing?”

“Yeah,” Mel muttered, her cheeks turning pink. “Eh kasi, I feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t really experienced it. Tas what if, when the time comes, I don’t know kung anong ginagawa ko? Paano if I’m terrible at it?”

Andi couldn’t help the soft chuckle that escaped her lips. “That’s what’s been bugging you? You think you’re gonna suck at kissing?”

“Huwag mokong tawanan,” Mel huffed, but there was no anger in her tone, only embarrassment. “I’m serious, Andi. What if I’m awful at it and then the person I’m with regrets it?”

“Mel, come on. You’re not going to be bad at it.” Andi paused, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully. “Pero if you’re really that worried... we could always, I don’t know, practice?”

Mel froze, her eyes widening as she stared up at Andi. “Practice? Like.. with you?”

Andi’s heart did a weird flip, but she forced a casual shrug. “Yeah, I mean.. We’re best friends. If you’re comfortable with me, bakit hindi?”

Mel hesitated, biting her lip as she weighed the idea in her mind. “You’d do that for me?”

“Of course,” Andi replied, smiling. “That’s what friends are for, di ba?”

There was a beat of silence before Mel nodded, though the flush in her cheeks deepened. “Okay.. Sige. Let’s try it.”

Andi shifted closer to Mel, feeling her pulse quicken. It was supposed to be casual, just helping out a friend, but now that the moment was here, it felt... different. Her fingers brushed lightly against Mel’s cheek as she leaned in, her breath catching as their faces neared.

Mel was still, her lips slightly parted as Andi hovered close. “Are you ready, Melissa?” Andi asked softly, her voice almost a whisper.

Mel nodded, her breath shaky. “Yeah.”

Andi leaned in slowly, her lips brushing against Mel’s, soft and tentative. There was a gentle warmth there, the lightest of touches, and for a second, they both just held still, feeling the sensation of their lips meeting for the first time.

Mel’s lips were warm, soft, with a faint sweetness to them, like the lingering taste of the chocolate they’d shared earlier. Andi’s heart raced in her chest, the simple press of lips sparking something deeper inside her. She felt the faintest intake of breath from Mel, the tiniest shiver passing between them.

The sound of their soft breaths filled the quiet room, a delicate hum in the air as their lips moved slowly against each other. It was tentative, a gentle exploration, like neither of them wanted to break the fragile connection. Mel’s lips pressed back, unsure at first, but then gaining confidence, finding a rhythm that matched Andi’s.

When Andi pulled back slightly, her breath warm against Mel’s lips, she whispered, “That wasn’t so hard, was it?”

Mel smiled, her voice still soft, though a little breathless. “I have a good teacher.”

Andi chuckled, the sound vibrating in the space between them. “Wanna try again?”

Mel didn’t answer with words. Instead, she leaned forward this time, her lips seeking Andi’s with a bit more urgency. Their lips met again, and Andi felt a quiet thrill shoot down her spine, the kiss deeper this time, more insistent.

Mel’s lips parted slightly, and Andi hesitated for a brief moment before slipping her tongue forward, gently brushing it against Mel’s. The taste of her was warm, familiar, like something Andi couldn’t quite name but wanted to savor.

The sound of Mel’s soft gasp broke through the quiet, and Andi pulled back just enough to tease, “Your tongue’s so shy.”

Mel’s eyes flashed in annoyance, though there was a smile playing at the corners of her lips. “Shut up.”

Andi grinned, leaning in again, their foreheads almost touching. “Come on, don’t hold back.”

This time, when their lips met, the kiss was firmer, more sure. Mel’s tongue hesitated only for a second before meeting Andi’s, the soft slide of it sparking a warmth deep in Andi’s chest. She could hear the faint sound of their lips moving together, the soft, wet sounds filling the air as they kissed again and again, each one building on the last.

Andi felt Mel’s hands tentatively grab at her shirt, pulling her just a little closer, the heat between them unmistakable now. The taste of Mel was intoxicating, like the faintest hint of mint and something sweeter, something that made Andi’s head spin. She didn’t expect this to feel so.. real.

They broke apart, their breaths coming quicker now, and for a long moment, they just looked at each other, their faces inches apart, hearts pounding in the silence. Andi could still taste Mel on her lips, could still feel the warmth of her breath on her skin.

“I didn’t think... it would feel like that,” Mel whispered, her voice laced with wonder and something else—something that made Andi’s stomach flip.

“Like what?” Andi asked softly.

Mel’s eyes flickered down to Andi’s lips, her voice barely audible. “Like it wasn’t just practice.”
