Chapter Text
5:03am 3/5/2016
Finney was beat to death in that damn basement. He was so sure he was done with his life, but, then why did Finney wake up in perfect condition?
Finney jumped up out of bed, checking his calendar. It was may 3rd, 11 days before the first victim got kidnapped, Finney was in the past, he was so sure he was hallucinating so he slapped himself
"ow!" Finney winced, definitely not hallucinating..
Finney Blake was in the past, and he was able to prevent the kidnappings, he jumped out of bed getting ready for school. He felt so relaxed; his legs didn't hurt, neither did his arms, he felt like this was heaven. As Finney got ready, he decided to write a list of the kidnappings.
14th May - Billy Showalter
30th May - Griffin Stagg
6th June - Vance Hopper
19th August - Bruce Yamada
30th August - Robin Arellano
Finney sighed, before heading down to the kitchen, trying his best not to make too much noise, he wasn't sure if his dad was home or not, he was to focused on figuring out on how to save the boys that he had forgot to grab breakfast. Finney began walking to school, admiring the outside that he hadn't seen in weeks.. days? months? Finney couldn't recall how long he'd been in that fucking basement... Finney didn't care about that right now; all he cared about was saving the ghost boys, he had arrived at school before he even realized it. Finney was met with a crowd surrounding 2 people, fighting, it was Robin and Moose, this was the 4th time this month they've fought each other, each time, Moose got his ass beat, and each time Robin had complained to Finney about how sharp Moose's teeth were. Finney didn't mind when Robin ranted to him; instead, he found it quite relaxing.
Finney had spotted Robin through the crowd, Moose was already on the ground, that fight didn't last long, the crowd left after the fight was over, Robin spotted Finney, his eyes lit up.
"Hey Finn!" Robin ran over to Finney.
"Hey Robin, what did Moose do this time?" His voice was shaky, he hoped that Robin wouldn't comment about it, thankfully Robin didn't.
"Everything! Moose asked for it" Robin laughed, grabbing Finney as they began walking together.
Robin and Finney talked and talked, they reached the bathroom, Finney assumed Robin needed too clean his fists, they entered the bathroom still chatting, Robin walked over to the sink turning it on.
"Hey Finn?" Robin said softly before turning to Finn.
"Yeah?" Finney tilted his head slightly.
"Promise to never change?" Robin smiled
"I promise Robin." Finney smiled back at Robin
Robin and Finney continued chatting before the bell interrupted them, Robin sighed
"Do you wanna skip with me, Finn?" Robin asked, but he already knew the answer, he just wanted to ask anyway.
"Robin, you know I can't risk my grade like that.." Finney gave a slight laugh. Robin knew Finney would say that.
Robin sighed, "okayyy.. Have fun at English Finn." Robin smiled
Finney left the bathroom and headed to english, Finney remembered one of the ghost boys was in his english class, he just had to find out how to befriend him... Finney made it to english, he entered the classroom walking to his usual spot, he looked around the classroom to see if he could find Griffin, and after a couple seconds of looking he spotted griffin, sitting alone, Finney was lost in thought before the teacher started explaining a project.
"So! today we are beginning a project worth 40% of your grade, I'm going to put you in groups now."
Finney silently cursed praying he was with Griffin.
"Will and Mike, Richie and Eddie, Stanley and Bathsheba, Lucas and Max, Eddie and Steve, Griffin and Finney, Kalynn and Weston, Susie and Charlie, and finally, the only trio, Drew, Liam, and Henry."
Finney was shocked. The Gods were in his favor for sure. Finney got up and sat next to Griffin.
"Hey, Griffin, right?" Finney's voice wavered,
"Uhm.. yeah, you're Finney, right..?" he clearly had no experience with talking, his voice was way shakier than Finney's was!
"yup, so, what do you wanna do the project about?" Finney tried his best too make sure he didn't stutter.
"uh.. well, how about we h-hang out after school.. You know, figure it out then." It was so clearer than before that Griffin had no experience with public speaking. Finney sort of felt bad...
"Sure! I'd love to hang out," Finney smiled
Griffin got flustered (embarrassed), Finney sat down next to Griffin, they began talking, turns out they had alot in common! Griffin and Finney liked the same genre of books and movies, Finney never knew this about Griffin... in fact he didn't know anything about Griffin. Just like Griffin said on that phone call. But Finney didn't wanna think about that.
The bell rang, Griffin and Finney made up a time to meet after school, Griffin and Finney said their goodbyes before they both began walking to their next class.
Finney finished the school day, he let out a sigh of relief when he stepped out of school grounds, he was thankful that he didn't have to deal with Matty and his dogs today, all he was focused on was meeting up with Griffin, today was the day Gwen went to Susie's anyway. Finney saw Griffin waiting there, fidgeting with his thumbs, he ran over to Griffin.
"Hey Griffin!" Griffin jolted at the surprise, he wasn't paying attention until Finney greeted him.
"Hey Finney.." Griffin said quietly
"So, should we start walking to yours, or should we get snacks first?" Finney smiled
"uh, I guess snacks would be nice.." Griffin gave a slightly noticeable smile. Finney was really observant (after being in that basement), so he saw Griffin smile.
They both began talking about things they have in common while walking to the store. They arrive at the store after 15 minutes of walking and talking.
"so, what snacks do you want?" Finney questioned
"ah, I don't really know.."
"It's fine, i'll pay" Finney offered, but it wasn't really an offer.
"oh! no no you don-" Griffin tried to object, but he got cut off by Finn
"I will pay."
The argument was over, they grabbed their snacks and Finney paid, they began walking to Griffin's house, it took them 25 minutes but they were having a great conversation so they didn't mind.
"don't mind the mess, I haven't had time to clean up the house yet.." Griffin apologized, when Finney walked in Griffin's house he didn't see any mess, sure there was a little thing on the floor here and there but Finney's house was MUCH MUCH worse..
"Its alright, I don't mind!" They both began working on their project.
8:09pm 3/5/2016
"i'm so tired oh my gosh!" Griffin exclaimed
"I know right!" Finn sighed
"oh, its already 8.. I should probably go home" Finney packed up his stuff and got up from the floor
"are you sure? it's pretty late.." Griffin said, clearly worrying.
"yeah i'm sure! i'll see you tomorrow Griffin!" Finney waved bye and Griffin waved back, Finney left Griffin's house.
Finney began walking home, a couple cars had passed him, he had hoped none of them were a black van, his heart stopped when a black van slowly drove past him, luckily the roads were busy so the van didn't stop, Finney made it home, slowly unlocking the door, he entered his house and sighed as he saw the pile of alcohol everywhere, he knew his dad had been home earlier, but his dad must've left to go to the bar, he was thankful his dad wasn't home, but he wasn't ready for when he was home.
Finney called it a day after successfully befriending Griffin Stagg.
