Chapter Text

Yejun is easy to love.

Hamin can confidently attest to that. Yejun is an angel incarnate, and Hamin isn't afraid to tell that to the world. In fact, he has said that multiple times on record.

The thing is, the man himself doesn't understand that.

"I love you, hyung."

Yejun hums, his eyes focused on the TV screen. "I love you, too, Hamin-ah."

Hamin sighs. It seems he has failed again this time.

The two of them are hanging out in Yejun's house, watching another series together. Yejun has his head resting on Hamin's shoulder, oblivious to the younger man's internal turmoil.

"Yejun hyung, I love you," Hamin repeats.

This time, Yejun stares up at him, an amused smile on his lips. "Haminie, I love you, too," Yejun says back, before straightening up. "What's wrong?"

Hamin immediately misses the warmth on his side so he reaches out his hand, and Yejun immediately holds it, intertwining their fingers together. Staring at their clasped hands, Hamin answers, "Nothing."

It isn't a lie. Nothing is wrong, just the fact that all this skinship is making Hamin crazy.

"I'm not a baby," Hamin clarifies.

Yejun moves back to his original position, curled up by Hamin's side, and Hamin lifts his arm to wrap it around Yejun's shoulders to bring him closer. "Who says you are?"

"Hyung is treating me like a kid."

Yejun snorts. "Am I?"

"Stop answering me with questions."

Yejun laughs, his whole body vibrating. Hamin holds him tighter to his side, afraid that Yejun will somehow slip off the couch. "Sorry, sorry. I'll stop."

Words aren't really Hamin's forte, so he doesn't know how he can articulate his feelings well other than the words, 'I love you'.

Those words should be enough to convey his romantic intentions, shouldn't they? Unfortunately, his opponent is as thick as a brick. Hamin has confessed multiple times on separate occasions, but all of his words were treated as affectionate words from a younger brother.

Sometimes Hamin thinks it might be better to stick to the status quo. Yejun regards him favorably, everyone can see that. They do couple-like things already, and Hamin is sure Yejun is only this clingy to him. Or so he hopes.

Yejun has his focus on the TV once more, his hand tapping on his shoulder until his fingers touch Hamin's knuckles. Hamin watches as Yejun absentmindedly intertwines their hands together again.

Hamin lets out another sigh.

"I love you." A leak of frustration escapes Hamin's tone.

Yejun turns to him. "Third time's the charm?" He pats Hamin's thigh in comfort. "My answer won't change, you know? I love you, too."

Daring, Hamin cups his jaw, running his thumb along Yejun's lips, and Yejun instinctively parts his mouth just a little. "Hyung, you're not listening."

Yejun clears his throat, looking away. "I-I am."

Oh?

"Hyung–"

"Let's eat dinner." Yejun suddenly shot up from the couch, mechanically walking towards the kitchen. "What do you want to eat?"

Yejun is somewhat conscious of him after all, Hamin elatedly realizes.

"Chicken," Hamin says as he walks towards Yejun who is busying himself with the delivery pamphlets, standing behind him.

"Chicken? Okay. What else?"

With the pretense of checking other options, Hamin leans on Yejun's back, arms on each side of Yejun's waist as he flips over the pamphlets. Yejun freezes in front of him.

"I won't let you run away next time, hyung." Hamin laughs, lips dangerously close against Yejun's ears. "But I'm also craving for ramyeon."
