Work Text:

Another day wasted yesterday, another day will be wasted today. Kim Taehyung had finally graduated out of high school just a couple of days ago, and he was currently in the process of regaining back all the energy he lost during those last hectic and chaotic weeks. Taehyung wasn't one to lay at home a lot, but between partying with his friends, saying his farewells and finishing his high school bucket list (he swears he can still feel the foam from the time Jimin and him decided to fill Jungkook's pool with and splash around) but really, he was now just plain out exhausted.

So when someone rang his door, and he swore it was not his weekly KFC. He decides to put on some half decent pants and put on a hoody, before opening the door to the stranger or strangers on the other side.

As it turns out, it was actually really bright outside when he opened the door, and Taehyung had slept until 2 pm that day forgetting that Jimin and Jungkook were supposed to come over to watch a movie in his backyard or something.

"Tae!" Jungkook yelled, getting impatient because "Hyung, I need to use your washroom."

"Alright, alright go in." Taehyung said, opening his front door wide, letting the youngest rush in, and smiling at Jimin who was holding sleeping bags and another bag probably full of movies.

"Thanks!" Jungkook said, leaving the two newly graduates to put their stuff in a corner and lay on Tae's living room floor, looking for movies to marathon through, and sluggishly pick snacks for the night.

"Tae, you know we can't live off apple juice and the 3 lonely bags of popcorn from your cupboard." Jimin complained, taking his phone out and browsing through simple snack recipes.

"I wonder if we could call Jin-Hyung and tell him to cook for us." Taehyung suggested, before laying down beside Jimin, pulling his own phone out and going through his senior's tweets for updates.

"He's probably working right now. We could drop by the restaurant he's working at, but you wouldn’t get to taste his food."

"Ugh, damn him and his will to get money to pay off culinary school." Tae sighed, before getting up and going through his fridge once more.

Jungkook, who hasn't really been paying attention to them since coming back to the washroom, suddenly looked up letting go of the current top three movies they agreed on.

"Guys, I know this kick ass place that has the best pizza and chicken wings. They do deliveries as well." He exclaimed, while unlocking his phone and then typing the name of the place to find their website. The other two moved towards him, hovering over the younger's phone, looking through BH PIZZA PALACE'S menu.

"Wow, they're not even that expensive." Jimin said, while scrolling down to find the ORDER NOW option.

"I know it's run by a young 40 year old something couple, but most of their employees are young…so you know what that means...." Jungkook said, briefly raising a suggestive eyebrow at Jimin, before excluding Taehyung from the ordering process.

"Why are you guys looking at each other and ignoring me? Is it because I added gummy bears to our pizza once?" Taehyung whined, letting his body fall onto the couch and looking over the three movies they would probably end up watching all evening and night.

"No, though that was pretty fucking disgusting, but Jimin-ah sent me a thing where someone requested something while ordering pizza."

"Like what? Asking the delivery person if they could re-enact a scene from Romeo and Juliet?" Taehyung scoffed, and then stood up to pour himself some juice and go through his Instagram.

"Hm, no... not exactly…" Jimin giggled, before once again browsing through the menu and asking each other what to order and how to split the bill.

Though about half an hour later, they decided that 2 medium pizzas and 10 chicken wings were more than enough, one pizza being a meat lovers special and the other being your ordinary Hawaiian pizza. The order process was done courtesy of Jimin, who giggled, before telling the rest that the food will be here by 6:30.

By the time the door rang, Jimin was outside with Jungkook in the backyard organizing and then shuffling their cards for their round of poker. Neither of them stood up, but instead shoved their share of the money to Taehyung and nudged him to get the pizza.

You see, Taehyung has never been much of a pizza guy, if anything he was burgers and fries type of gal, but the moment he looked through his peephole and confirmed that it was the pizza delivery guy, he knew that Jimin and Jungkook had requested for the cutest delivery boy. Or not. Maybe he just got lucky. REAL LUCKY.

"Someone asked for one medium meat lovers and one Hawaiian pizza, one dozen chicken wings, and the cutest delivery boy?" Nope. They had definitely set him up, judging by the giggles coming from the backyard. Not that he was mad or anything. Definitely not now, seeing the man in front of him with a smile so bright and warm Taehyung thought he might have collapsed.

"Hi, that would have been me….." Tae said, shyly giving the unknown boy a small smile, looking at his face yet avoiding all eye contact. The delivery boy had shiny skin, dark and silky brown hair that barely covered his eyebrows, a perfect nose and big brown eyes.

"Well, you're lucky this is my shift, you could've gotten my co-worker who is very cute but kind of rude." The boy said, handing him the warm boxes of food that would be devoured in a matter of seconds.

Taehyung laughed lightly and turned around to pay the boy, handing him a 15 dollar tip.

"Thank you."

"Enjoy you pizza!" The boy waved while grinning, before turning around to get on his motorbike. Maybe ordering pizza once in a while wouldn't be so bad after all.

But his friends, who were still giggling and asking him how cute the delivery boy was, wouldn’t get to know that.

Kim Taehyung didn’t order anything from anywhere until a week later. His usual was at KFC or the Chinese takeout place down the road, on the days his parents were out again, either at work or and he felt like having a warm meal, that isn’t always served at parties.

When he did order food, which was that Thursday afternoon, Taehyung ordered by phone.

"Hello, this is BH Pizza Palace, what would you like?" A low, fresh voice asked.

"Yes, I'd like to order a small pizza and 6 chicken wings please." Taehyung said, recalling what his friends and him order a week before.

"Alright, that would be $22.89, the address please?"

"Oh, that would be 347 Seldon Street." Taehyung barely finished before the other person on the line let out a laugh.

"Oh, so you were the one that requested for our cutest delivery boy! You're in luck, because he's working his shift at the moment."

Kim Taehyung was shocked. Baffled that someone knew about his friend's embarrassing and cringe worthy request, and that they would plain out call HIM out on it. To make matters worse, he also knew his face was getting hot and he was deeply regretting ordering at all.

"Oh, sorry those were my friends that did that…." He tried to save himself, really tried to but knowing his luck, he only made things worse.

"So did you not think he was cute?" The voice called out, low and serious (though never as low as Taehyung's) yet only scaring him slightly.

"No, well yes. When will my food arrive?" This only earned him a laugh from the other person, and his cheeks to get hotter.

"It'll arrive in approximately 25 minutes, 30 with our cutest delivery boy. Thank you for ordering from BH Pizza Palace." And with that the line went dead. Was it wrong for him to be both excited and embarrassed?

The routine was, on Tuesdays he would order from BH Pizza Palace for himself, and on every other day his cousins or friends came over.

After two times of ordering from BH Pizza Palace, he learned that his reoccurring eye candy of a delivery boy was named Jung Hoseok, after his younger cousin sprung to him when he opened the door and shouted, demanding his name. Not only did the boy (whom he also learned was older than him by a year, thanks to one other little nosy cousin of his), stay for two extra minutes to entertain his younger family members, but for once, they discussed something other than pizza.

"You have really cute cousins, you know."

"Thank you…. Hoseok hyung?" Tae replied, unsure of their status. He felt his palms getting sweaty and embarrassment slowly showing through the light red shade of his neck. Instinctively though, he slowly and gently pulled his cousins inside after placing the pizza on the table beside him, and paying the other male.

"No problem…." Hoseok stretched out the silence, his hand only barely touching Taehyung's fingers as he took the money from him. It took 2 split seconds for Taehyung to realize he wanted him to spit out his name.

"Kim Taehyung." He informed the other, calmly and giving him a small smile, noticing the twinkle in Hoseok's eyes as he stepped back and returned the smile.

"Well, see you around Tae Tae and others!" And with that he closed the door. Taehyung was satisfied.

Just kidding, he was not satisfied at all. About 5 days later, Jimin and Jungkook decided to come over without warning and lay around their living room before talking about his future and Jimin's. Luckily, they were both accepted into the same university. Jimin going as a dance major but with a business minor. As for Taehyung, he's pursuing teaching, mainly focusing on the smaller kids, but with a music/vocal minor. They were busy packing their stuff, because even though the school was about a 2 hour drive from there, both of them knew that they wouldn’t have enough energy to drive every day to campus and back.

They all had jobs, Taehyung was a babysitter, Jimin was working at community centre and Jungkook, well Jungkook practically just went to the gym until his parents dragged him out and he ended up with either Jimin or Taehyung. So during the weeks they were either packing or working, they didn’t really have enough time to see each other, or plan out more extraordinary events, much less buy snacks for when each of them showed up at each other's homes.

"So how many kids do you babysit per week again?" Jungkook asked, clearly horrified at the scattered mess of toys left behind his couch that his cousin's left about almost a week ago.

"Now, since it's summer, I babysit during the afternoons, so 10+ kids a week, but half of them are siblings." Taehyung lazily replied, only to get up and throw his cousin's toys in the bin they keep here, and getting his 3 game controllers and handing them out. They all plopped back into the couches and played game after game. It was around another 3 hours that Jungkook and Taehyung heard Jimin's stomach growl, and he decided that it was probably around the time Hoseok was working his shift.

He called BH Pizza Palace and ordered, but before he could hang up he was sure he heard a muffled "Jung Hoseok, I think lover boy ordered! Do you want to drop it off?" before ending the call. Kim Taehyung wanted to die.

His friends noticed, and when they did get him to admit he has been calling the pizza place a lot recently they hollered and high fived each other before scrambling to the door to meet the Jung Hoseok that Taehyung had developed a crush on.

"Uh, the Kim Taehyung household?" A low voice swept them off, and he realized that this time around it wasn't the bubbly boy he was getting used to delivering his food. It was actually the guy who teased him the first time he ordered and whom he got to talk to a lot more nowadays.

"Namjoon hyung? Don't you usually take the orders?" Taehyung asked, shoving his friends back into his house, not wanting to risk any other form of public embarrassment.

"Yeah, well Hoseok had to practice for an upcoming showcase, which is why he wanted me to come and tell you he was sorry for not delivering today." Kim Namjoon basically whispered, knowing that Taehyung's friends were probably eavesdropping on them.

"Oh." Taehyung swallowed, not know what to say. Why did the older apologize to him indirectly? It wasn't his fault he had a life of his own. (Even though Taehyung selfishly kind of wished it only revolved around the cute, freshly out of high school student- Kim Taehyung.)

"His showcase is on the 30th, so he'll be practicing a lot more, but he working from 10 am to 5 pm every day except on Tuesdays and Sundays, if you want to order or…. plain out just see him. " Namjoon winked, earning an exasperated groan, but the flush of his cheeks didn't go unnoticed.

"Thanks Namjoon," Taehyung barely managed out a response out of himself as he hands him the money that his friends and him split to cover the food like last time "but um… why are you telling me this?” Taehyung asked, sounding more curious than plain out mad or rude. Which he did not feel a single inch of because, hey, maybe Namjoonie hyung is just trying to get his friend laid, who knows?

"Well, ever since he met you through a silly ass request he's been going through intolerable mood swings….." Taehyung could only nod, not knowing how to exactly feel following that sort of revelation.

"But I think he just really liked you the moment he saw you."

And with that, he waved and left. Taehyung knew that his friends were going to jump on him because they must've at least heard some of the words him and that philosophic nerd (that he was growing friendly with as every week went by) exchanged.

When he came back inside and closed the door though, all he got were smirks, a couple of laughs and two 'You're welcomes'

Maybe he should say his thanks and regards to his two idiot friends. The week after formally meeting Namjoon, when Taehyung wasn't babysitting, not anyone below the age of 17 anyways. (Aka, Jeon Jungkook who ran away from home because he lied about his age and wasn't allowed to try out for a dance studio yet and got into a lot of shit ended up with him. Along with Jimin, who was also there reminiscing over his lost instant summer crush on a short little mint haired underground rapper with a 'face that reminds him of a sugary angel' that he met a club 3 days ago.) Taehyung was done with both of them, though his energy levels were high, which only made his two friends slowly get out of their low hours and into happy hour, trolling others on the web with only non-alcoholic coolers to keep them from dying.

"Hey Taehyung?" Jimin asked, not bothering to look up at Taehyung who was causing mishap on Mario Kart, who only replied with a single hum.

"Do you want to order something?"

"Yeah sure."

"From BH?" Jimin innocently asked, acting like he did not completely eavesdrop last week and came over on a Friday at 2.

"Hm, ok." Taehyung said without thinking twice. No he thought about it four times before whole heartedly agreeing to (hopefully) see the cute boy once again, even if his friends would embarrass him.

After five minutes, when he rightfully logged out of his game, he left the room and ordered their usual. Namjoon did not pick up, instead it was the guy from last week, this time only cutting the line after shouting 'Jung Hoseok'

Oh well, this was either going to end up with disappointment or embarrassment.

Luckily it was less disappointment and more over surprise by how glowing Hoseok looked.

Before he arrived though, he made sure to lead his friends to his basement before running up to be the one to open the door. Though not entirely successful, Taehyung did manage to greet the older boy.

"Hey!"

"Hi… nice to see you again." Taehyung said, roughly keeping his voice from a whisper.

"Same here… sorry for not delivering last week." His tone shimmered down, awkwardly standing in front of Taehyung after getting paid and Taehyung placing his food on the same side table like every week. Taehyung knew he had around 10 seconds to somewhat vaguely ask the guy in front of him and he was going to do it whether he liked it or not.

It seemed that the same guy actually had something to say as well, his eyes wondering everything close to Taehyung, but never directly at him. When they both felt the silence stretch out uncomfortably, that when all was let loose.

"Uh-"

"Um-" They both said, but Taehyung gestured for the older one to continue on.

"So, I believe you're barely out of high school and believe it or not, same here and I don't know exactly how to phrase this because I'm probably just another other pizza delivery guy to you but-"

Kim Taehyung was done. Bored. Sure, his pulse was quickening but he let out a groan anyways, walking closer to the golden boy in front of him.

"Just kiss me before I go broke, dammit." He whispered, before inching forward to close the gap. Hoseok was only halfway through rambling when he was interrupted. He was clearly surprised by the younger boy's straightforwardness but once opportunity strikes, he's not one to give it up.

And so they kiss. It's chaste, sweet and light, everything to keep them on their toes from wanting more. It goes on for about two minutes before there is distant yelling about the whereabouts of the food, and they both pull away and large grins forming on both of their faces.

Before they both parted ways, Jung Hoseok made sure to pass his number onto Taehyung. That marked the last time Taehyung ordered just to see him.

Two weeks after, when Hoseok finally showcased his routine, he wasn't there alone. Of course his friends and family were there, but a particular boy who had a rectangular smile, and ate way too much pizza before they began dating, was there holding flowers and a camera.

Months passed and they began university together, take out becoming a normal routine for them, maybe not pizza, because frankly, Taehyung had grown tired of eating it.

Just not when he could smell it faintly on his boyfriend after coming back, knowing that with him, he was truly at home.
