Cassandra was super thrilled: she had found the perfect gift for Jacob’s birthday!
While he was unwrapping the package, she was jumping up and down unable to contain the excitement.
When Jacob saw the book, he didn’t have the happy, amazed expression she was expecting. He seemed quite perplexed.
“When we were in that college library last month,” she explained: “I saw your eyes light up when you looked at this book!”
Despite her words, she no longer felt so sure about her choice.
“Yes, but… you see… Professor David Moore is one of my aliases. I wrote this book.”
