Work Text:

First he was told that he had been recruited, that vehicle was taking him away from his family, The village had promised to take care of his daughter, Shiori, and his pregnant wife.

Months passed, He fought, he killed, On that Chinese battlefield, Against those pro vers traitors, He was lucky not to meet any Martian Kataphrakt, For the survivor stories were not encouraging at all.

His second daughter was born, he is happy and scared, what will happen to his wife and daughter, a few weeks later, he told his superior of his desire to defect, surprisingly that girl accepted and even offered to help him

tomorrow they would  start the  smuggling.

As the group tried to smuggle across the border, disguised as refugees, They were intercepted by border control, But then they raised their guns, They had been recognised, He didn't try to run away because he knew he would be shot on the spot, He just surrendered,  he was afraid.

Right now he is in this Chinese prison, his hair is shaved off, he doesn't know how long it's been, months? years? Life in this Chinese prison is hell on earth, Every day he starves, they force him to do hard labour if he wants food, They beat him at the slightest sign of tiredness, and the worst thing is that nobody supports him, His comrades disown him, They blame him for being imprisoned, And the other prisoners mistreat him just for being Japanese, Every night he fears that someone will stab him

He had already thought of committing suicide, but the hope of seeing his family again kept him alive.

It has been two years, or so he knows, longer than the second earth-mars, Unlike what he believed they were not released when the war ended.

One day, when he was resting, a Guard approached him, He got up quickly despite the mental, emotional and physical pain because he feared he would be beaten, but that man told him something he always wished to hear

"you are free".

Now he himself is in an UE rehabilitation centre, in order to recover both physically and mentally from that traumatic experience

When he arrived to Asahigaoka, most of the aldenaos looked down on him, he was now a disgrace, some just gossiped about him, others said they were more aggressive, The Koshigaya and some "Inokuma" welcomed him even though he was now a criminal

He was happy to know that his family did not hate him, And he cried when he saw his second daughter, He asked his wife as he hugged and kissed her, what was her name? She said "kasumi" and he held his two year old daughter.

Some time later, he had been informed that his position as the town officer had been revoked, he had to turn in his badge and his gun to the authorities, he had been fired,

he was thinking of moving away, but his wife said it was not necessary, that some friends would support them financially, but he replied that he was more concerned about his reputation and how it would affect the girls, he said "What are people going to say about their father being a criminal? "Besides, now with a criminal record it would be impossible to find another job in the country, unless they could find a lawyer, maybe someone who was an expert in military and employment policy, but there was a problem, it was expensive, plus the trauma of the war had affected him, he would sometimes have a panic attack when he saw a gun or someone wearing a uniform, he would have a panic attack when he saw a gun or someone wearing a uniform.

The village managed to get him a lawyer. The lawyer told him that because in  his case they  violated his human rights and she had reasons to defect, it is possible to win this case

"Will I get my job back"?

The lawyer replied that it was likely, but if not China and the authorities would have to pay compensation for moral and psychological damages, even if they did not, they would need evidence to win the case

", General Rize Tedeza did give me permission to leave the army "

Everybody called Rize Tedeza and she confirmed that she did give her approval for him to leave the army

" So it's done, what you did was not desertion, if it was authorised that means that your arrest, your dismissal, was unjust

" So that means my husband ? "

Yes," the lawyer smiled at the woman. "We can win this trial."

Thanks to the testimony of Rize Tedeza, who gave her approval, Shiori's father, after a long trial, got his job back.

The judge said more or less: "Due to Mr. Majima's unjust arrest, the United Earth Federation will pay compensation for the moral and psychological damages so that he can recover all his lost wages,

The policeman, his eyes filled with tears when he heard that, after years, he had proved his innocence, his wife hugged him, Shiori was happy, little Kasumi, 4 years old, did not understand what was happening.

He put on his uniform, The police station said, Welcome back.
