Natsuki smiled softly as she handed a manga volume to the taller girl, a triumphant look on her face.
“Hehehe.. here! I think you’ll like this one!” She crossed her arms over her chest, a cocky smirk on her lips.
“Oh?” She hummed. “Well..” she blushed a little as she handed over a novel, averting her gaze. “Here.. I found something I think you’ll like..” she said sheepishly, Natsuki’s eyes lighting up as she looked over the book.
“Mmm! I can’t wait to see what you picked out for me!” Natsuki cheered.
“Ah.. we’re still in public..” Yuri lowered her head sheepishly. “So keep your voice down..”
“Awe, but no ones around! Besides it’s a book-store not a library!”
“I.. guess you have a point but-”
“Let’s go check out! Maybe we can read together after this!” She smiled, gently grabbing Yuri’s hand and tugging her along.
“Let’s read at my place, maybe you could stay for dinner?” Yuri suggested, the younger girl pausing before smiling and nodding a little.
“Yeah, I’d like that!”
And so, after they purchased their books for each other and traded once again, they headed to Yuri’s house, the tall girl making them some snacks before going upstairs with Natsuki.
“Hey, Natsuki.” Yuri hummed. “You know.. if you told the school about your father I’m sure-”
“No! Ah.. I mean.. no… look I’m perfectly fine, okay? Don’t worry about me!”
“When’s the last time you ate?”
There was a long silence. Natsuki looked at her hands as Yuri waited. Finally, the older girl just sighed and gently pulled her into a hug.
“You need to let someone help you..” Yuri mumbled. “I know we argue sometimes, but I do care about you, okay?”
“Just hold me for now..” Natsuki finally managed. “This feels nice..”
“If.. if that’s what you want..” Yuri mumbles, the girls getting into a more comfortable position, Yuri letting Natsuki lean into her, her arms around the short girl. Yuri noticing as she started to fall asleep.
“Thanks… Yuri..” she whispered just before she dozed off, Yuri giving her a gentle squeeze.
“Don’t worry Natsuki.. I’m gonna help you from now on.. I’m going to help you any way I can..”
