Marinette smiles brightly. Her hands rest on her hips. She had shifted the furniture in her apartment to clear an area for dancing. Spinning a few times to get into the swing of things, she reaches over to play Durang’s Hornpipe.
She had gotten into country dance while she lived in New York with Chloe. Country dances weren’t something she expected to enjoy. But a friend had invited her to a dance night and they had done the Gypsy's Scarf. Marinette had immediately fallen in love with the dance. The fast paced partner dances were so fun!
It often cheered her up when she was upset or frustrated. Dance has been very therapeutic for her. Something she definitely needed and wanted in her life. Especially after being Ladybug for so long.
Marinette would convince Chloe to join her every now and then. She didn’t end up going to the dance club that originally got her into country dance but she did join a club. It was closer to her and Chloe’s apartment.
She hadn’t found a group to do country dance with in Gotham yet, but she was looking for one. Being caught up with commissions from her fashion line as MDC on top of going to college didn't leave her much time to spend searching.
As a sort of compromise with herself, she had started dancing in her apartment. It wasn’t as fun as doing it with a group considering she doesn’t have enough people nor space to do a proper dance.
Nevertheless, she made do with what she had. She still has the dress she crafted for dancing. It was heavily inspired by old western women's fashion. The skirt flailed delightfully when she spun.
After playing the song, she rushed into position. She danced along to the music laughing merrily the whole time.
