The sky is a typical blue, trees waving in the wind, and clouds moving so slowly. It's so beautiful here in the mountains, Kelp thinks. Even as she's being flown away by SkyWing guards, their talons wrapped around her shoulders tightly. No hint of them wanting to let her go. But that's alright to Kelp. The Sky Palace can't be that bad.
It's that bad, oh my gosh. As soon as Kelp gets there, a duo of dragons are fighting in the sandy arena below and she's stuck on the highest dragon-made point ever. She sulks, looking down at the fighting dragons, watching their skilled doges and jabs. The one that looks like they're winning is an IceWing with a slash on their face and their opponent is a MudWing with lots of bites and claw punctures. Soon after Kelp finishes looking at their injurys, the MudWing pounces forward and stabs their claws through the IceWings eyes. Kelp can see the IceWing screaming in pain, their claws twitching with no idea what to do. Then their head flops to the ground and dragons in the seats stand up to clap with cheers and smiles.
Kelp sneers in disgust at the amount of bloodlust from the crowd and looks down at the prisoners in the arena with a bit of pity. She watches as guards haul the MudWing away. They're placed on a pillar 5 away from hers and a medic tends to their wounds sluggishly.
In the arena area, a scarlet bejeweled dragon in a throne speaks to the crowd for a second, wearing a sinisterly-cheerfully- toothy grin. The crowd flies off to tend to their duties after the show. Kelp wonders what the hell is going on, why the prisoners were fighting, and if they were forced to. Probably, she thinks.
Kelp looks at the blood stained sand and her stomach turns a bit queasy as the blue and red blood mix to purple. But the sun is disappearing behind the mountains and stars begin to pop up in the sky. She yawns and circles around her platform, not looking over the edge. She lays down and tucks her tail under her neck, staying warm. And despite the death just occurred, Kelp finds sleep easily.
