"You sure about this," Jim nervously asked Andy. Andy just sighed, "Yes, Jim. Everything will be fine. You just need to lighten up a bit." He playfully elbowed Jim as they walked into the crowded house, bustling with high school party energy. Jim had never been to a high school party and planned on following Andy around for the entire night. Andy noticed Jim's uncertainty and gave him a reassuring look. Sure, he could've just gone without Jim, but he wanted to go with him. Also he really didn't want to look like an ass forcing them to let Jim come if he didn't show up.
"Hey Andy," someone called out to him, "It's me, Jerry. Remember?" Andy internally died dreading the idea of talking to Jerry. Jerry was the leader of the school's unofficial emo and goth club. He was also a weird person in general, and Andy always figured he'd be an even worse weirdo in the future. "Oh, uh, hey..." Jerry was about to follow Andy around until he saw Jim following him. "Oh, you brought Jim," he said with disappointment. Andy could sense his tone and got annoyed. "Yeah, what's wrong with that? Do you have a problem?" Jerry began to stammer. "Oh, uh, no. I just didn't think he'd come because well, you know..." Andy rolled his eyes. "What? Are you actually going to say something useful or are you just going to flounder because you don't think Jim should be here? Well guess what, I don't care. Jim is here and he's staying here. Deal with it." Jim's face turned red hearing Andy defend him, and Jerry backed away defeated.
“You didn’t have to do that,” Jim said, “I’m used to it.” Andy was quick to respond, “Hell no. You’ve dealt with these douchebags for so long, it’s time you got to have some fun without other people bothering you about it. Screw them, let’s party.” He dragged Jim inside and towards the main room where everyone else was. People stared, both in awe and confusion, as Jim and Andy walked through. People greeted Andy and mostly ignored Jim, which Jim was happy to accept. Andy made it to the table with alcohol and grabbed a bottle. “Want some?” Jim shook his head. “Nah, I don’t think I’m ready for that yet. Plus, someone needs to drive you home.” Andy shrugged and replied, “Suit yourself,” as he downed his Gruberhof. Jim was a little anxious but tried to let Andy relax. After all, he’s been to many parties. Surely he knew to be careful, right?
Andy had wandered off to go flirt with some girl he just met while Jim hung out in the corner like the wallflower he was. Someone he didn’t recognize walked over to him before staring him up and down. He was confused. “…Hello?” The strange person just laughed before saying, “Sorry, I’m fried and I thought you were someone I knew. Hey, you seem chill. Want a nug?” Jim, being oblivious, thought they meant nugget. He agreed and held his hand out before the person put a small clumpy leaf into his hand. “Catch you later maybe.” Jim didn’t have the chance to ask what he was given before the person stumbled off. He decided to put it in his pocket for later and went off to find Andy again. Jim has checked around the entire place with no sign of Andy anywhere. He went back to the booze table and there he was, downing what looked to be his 5th bottle while everyone around him chanted, "Chug! Chug! Chug!" He stayed in the back and watched Andy downing the booze. He noticed Andy was starting to look out of it but wasn't able to got a good look as he was immediately pushed out of the crowd by everyone else. He decided to leave Andy alone for a while longer. He was beginning to feel overwhelmed so he decided to take a couple laps outside the house and come back in for the rest of the party.
He cautiously walked around the outside of the house, making sure to watch out for litter and his drunken classmates passed out on the ground. He picked up some cans as he walked around. 'I can get at least 10 cents each for these,' he thought to himself, 'And then maybe if I get enough I'll treat Andy to something nice to thank him for being so nice to me.' He smiled at the thought as he grabbed all that he could. He made it a game to find cans, and every once in a while took a trip to his car to dump them in the backseat. Some still had beer in them and leaked out into the car. 'Mom won't care... I think. I'll clean it later.' He felt relaxed enough and went inside to find Andy again.
When he got inside the massive drinking circle was gone and Andy was nowhere to be found yet again. Well, at least for a minute. He heard a familiar voice nearby. "Bagerbiger." Jim was quick to follow the sound and walked in on Andy crawling on the kitchen floor with a crowd watching him. His head was in a dog bowl and he was eating straight out of it. Jim didn't have much time to react as Andy proceeded to throw up back into the bowl and the floor around it. People laughed as they watched Andy's grand spectacle, growing more amused as Andy then began to crawl and roll around on the floor. "Oh man, this guy's hilarious," some greasy guy with blonde hair laughed, "You go dude!" Jim could hardly bear to watch his best friend make an idiot out of himself, but didn't want to intervene. Andy continued to yell "Bagerbiger," and roll around on the ground for a while until he noticed Jim. At this point other people were beginning to chant Bagerbiger as well, but all stopped when they noticed Andy stop. He muttered, "Jim," as he tried and failed to get off the floor. Jim walked over despite the many eyes on him and kneeled down next to Andy. "You havin' fun, man?" Andy just laughed as he fell forward, almost onto Jim. "Yeah I am having so much fun, it couldn't get any-" He then threw up all over Jim, which everyone proceeded to laugh at. "S-sorry..." Jim rustled Andy's messy hair and whispered, "Don't worry about it. You wanna go home now?" Andy let out a muffled yes and tried to force himself up. When he couldn't get himself up Jim tried his best to pick Andy up and carry him out. It felt a little embarrassing, not to mention gross since he was still covered in Andy's vomit, but he did his best. He managed to cradle Andy in his arms and carry him out to his car.
On the way out they heard the blonde guy from earlier say, "See you later, Bagerbiger!" Andy groaned, knowing that he wouldn't be able to live this down once he sobered up. By the time they got outside there wasn't a lot of people outside and Jim didn't have to be as careful while walking. He felt Andy drunkenly caressing his face, which he tried to ignore. "Why don't we go upstairs baby," Andy drunkenly muttered. Jim felt himself turn red but chose again to ignore it. He made it to the car and struggled to open the back door. When he managed to get it open he slid Andy in and laid him across the backseat. He sighed, "Just lay down and try to take it easy, man. I'll take you to my house and you can stay there for the night. Your mom's gonna kill you if she sees you like this." Andy was oblivious to what was going on and fell asleep as Jim shut the door and got into the car himself to drive them both home.
When Jim pulled into his driveway he looked back to check on Andy, who was still sound asleep. He knew his parents were still awake but he already told them that this might happen so they were ready. He pulled Andy out of the car and into his house. He carried him into the bathroom and began to do what he could to clean off the barf. Sitting Andy on the floor, he quickly went back to his room and brought back in some of his own clothes. They'd probably fit Andy. Andy had woken up and was drowsily stirring around on the floor. He looked up as Jim stared at him. "Where am I," he mumbled. Jim sat down next to him. "My house. I'll call your parents in a bit and tell 'em you're here, but for now you need to clean up. Do you want my help or do you think you can do it yourself?" Andy thought for a minute, but insisted he would do it himself. Jim handed Andy some clothes and left him in the bathroom. Andy stumbled around but managed to put on the new clothes before laying back down on the floor, feeling the room spin. Jim had called the French parents, who were oblivious to what was going on. Jim explained Andy's absence on the phone as him falling asleep, which the parents naively believed. He went back up to see Andy curled on the floor.
Andy noticed Jim's stained clothes. "Oh shit did I do that?" Jim laughed it off, "Yeah, but it's fine. I'll change into something else." He casually took everything off in front of Andy and was standing in his underwear before helping Andy up and walking him to his room. He sat Andy on the bed and sat next to him. "What a night, huh?" Andy didn't respond, but fell over with his head on Jim's shoulder. Jim didn't know how to react to this and just let his happen. He laid back and Andy followed suit, his head now on Jim's chest. Jim was flushed, but allowed it and moved the two of them to a more comfortable spot on his bed. He felt himself getting tired and wrapped an arm around Andy before falling asleep, the two of them breathing in sync. Neither of them really cared about how awkward that was going to be in the morning, nor did they want to. Both of them just let it happen and went to sleep. They'll forget about it in the morning.
