Work Text:
After the hotel parlor finally cleared, Husk made his way to his room. It was currently midnight so Angel wouldn't be done with his shoot for at least another two hours. That meant he had time to reread his lists and make sure he was fully prepared for Angel's arrival.
The silent hallways always felt longer at night but this wasn't a problem for Husk as it gave him more time to gather his thoughts. The bartender eventually reached his room and quietly pushed the door open. He then approached his desk, pulled out the chair and sat down.
On one side of the desk was a medium-sized set of drawers and on the other was an organiser that would typically be used to hold magazines. The drawers contained paperwork about the stock of the bar, recipes for some of the more complex drinks that Husk could make aswell as some other random documents that he had forgot about. This however was not what he was interested in. Sitting neatly in the organiser were five colour-coded folders that were labelled with each person living in the hotels name. Well almost everyone...
Charlie's folder was a bright yellow, Vaggie's was a dull but still pretty purple, Niffty's was brown (she wanted something that resembled cockroaches), Sir Pentious' was a simple black and Angel's was a light pink. Husk didn't have a folder for Alastor because he refused to make one but Alastor never really went up to the bar and even if he did, he only ever ordered the same drink so it didn't matter anyway. He also didn't have one for Lucifer but he didn't really know the guy that well so he didn't have much to go off of.
In each folder was a specialised list of an assortment of drinks that would be given to each person. Some of the drinks were what they had previously ordered and then the rest were added by Husk based on what he had observed of their preferences. Multiple handwritten pages contained information on what they liked, disliked, tolerated, ordered the most, ordered the least and even what they were allergic to. There was also notes about what drinks they would want in different situations and when experiencing different emotions. Each peice of paper was so carefully made and neatly highlighted that someone could mistake Husk for a perfectionist when in reality he wasn't even close to one.
The most shocking thing about this was that less than half of the information carefully documented by Husk hadn't been directly said to him. The allergies had to be specified of course, (even though that may only fully affect Charlie since everyone else had already died) but almost everything else had been overheard or seen by him.
Husk reached over his desk to take out one of the folders and start revising it even though he could recall over 80% of the information in each folder off of the top of his head. He continued doing this until he got to Pentious' folder. His hand hovered above it for a few brief moments before moving along to the next folder. His head filled with memories from when Pentious was still at the hotel... from when he was still alive. He quickly brushed those thoughts to the back of his head and began to read the last folder. No matter how hard it was to look at that folder, he would never get rid of it.
Husk finished reading the last folder which happened to be Angel's. He glanced up at the clock in his room. It was 2:30am. That meant Angel would be almost back at the hotel by now.
Husk quickly but gently placed all the folders back in the organiser and then left the room, making sure to lock the door. He couldn't have anyone waltz into his room and stumble upon his detailed folders about the hotel guests. The only person who new about the folders were himself and Niffty after he had to reluctantly allow her to clean his room and she had found the folders. He had managed to get Niffty to keep it a secret though, which was good as he could uphold his unbothered attitude towards the hotel residents without any issues.
When Husk finally reached the bar, he started to prepare ingredients for what drink Angel might be in the mood for once he gets back.
He is suddenly pulled out of his thoughts when the front door's loud creek peirces through the quiet atmosphere and alerts him of a new presence in the room. Angel enters the hotel looking exhausted.
Husk knows exactly what to serve him.
