"Kyran!"

"Truth or Dare?"

The group giggles in a circle, amused to how a straight-forward and shameless intoxicated Felicia will be the one to ask or order Kyran in this round, depending on his answer. He shifts uncomfortably in his small space, clearly not wanting the situation he's been put in.

"Um..."

"Hurry up and choose!" Felicia blurts.

No one seemed to take note of his uneasiness, just basking in the high from their drinks.

"Oh come on, Felicia. Kyran doesn't wanna do this. You can clearly tell from his face."

At least Gold was more attentive.

"Shut up, ironing board. Is he your boyfriend or something?"

"What? No. No way!"

Ouch? the question was clearly rhetorical.

They laugh even more.

"So? What's it going to be?"

All of their expecting eyes were on him now. He lowers his head in embarrassment.

"If you don't pick, you're gonna have to take a shot, just like the others." Felicia said it teasingly, not even in a threatening way like her usual self but to Kyran, it really was like that. His mom was going to kill him if she found out that he ever took even a sip of alcohol.

"Okay. Drink up~" Felicia takes a cup to his face but before it could reach his lips, he panickedly smacks it in her direction, spilling on her shirt.

"What the fuck? Are you a creep?"

Kyran's eyes widen.

Turns out, Felicia had decided to wear a black bra. In contrast to her white sorority shirt and the spilled beverage, it was more than obvious.

The boys from within the circle whistle and make comments towards her for this, even as going as far as to make provocative gestures.

"Holy shit. I'm so sorry!"

Just then, Someone in the crowd swiftly goes behind Felicia, wrapping her top part in what Kyran assumes to be their jacket, all without glancing at her.

Kyran could've sworn he saw a blush creeping up on Felicia's face.

"Keep the jacket. I have plenty anyway."

Felicia simply nods her head as Evan makes his way out of the crowd.

"Oh Em Gosh. Who was that!"

"Fuck he was so hot."

The girls gather around Felicia while some are going off at their boyfriends and classmates for their earlier comments. His friends though, had long ago left the circle, probably off doing something while completely forgetting about Kyran.

"Felicia, I am so sorry."

"Yeah, yeah sure. But you're gonna have to pay for my shirt!" And then she goes back to bickering with the others.

Kyran takes this moment without the attention on him as a chance to finally slip out of the room.

It's cold out.

Freezing even.

The weather in November along with the extra chill of the night bites Kyran through his three layers of clothing.

Another teenager whom had too much to drink vomits on the lawn.

It's gross. The whole place was disgusting.

But Kyran thought he saw Evan go this way.

He checks his phone for the time

"0:23am"

Great.

He sighs.

He wasn't sure why he agreed to go to a college party on a Sunday night with midterms and all that. He doesn't even remember who asked him.

Was it Gold? No, it couldn't have been. In his dreams.

Funneh? It was possible. Maybe to use him as her personal driver or something as he doesn't even remember anything before entering the doors to the party.

Or perhaps Alec? Well, they haven't really been talking a bunch since to highschool. Sure, maybe a friendly wave here and there but that was about it.

Or maybe-

"Kyran?"

Kyran almost jumps at the sudden call.

There, at least a few meters away from him, a tall and slender figure with a simple black tee and ripped jeans was staring at him. Kyran squints his eyes and proceeds to silently degrade his cursed eyesight and his irrational choice for deciding to not wear his glasses and instead, contacts which he proceeded to lose well off into the night.

The silhouette waves at him.

"It is you! What are you doing here?" Evan takes a few more steps until they were at a safe distance from each other.

"I was just... Looking for you."

"Hm?" Evan makes a sound then tilts his head.

"Why? Did you need something?"

Wait. Why was he looking for him.

"I uh... I wanted to thank you. For earlier."

Evan still has that confused look on his face.

"Um... For what you did with Felicia?"

Evan blinks.

"Ohhhh!"

"Wait, you were the one who spilled that drink on her?"

Kyran cringes at the reminder.

"No way!"

Evan erupts into laugher which makes the passersby look at them weirdly.

"Okay, okay. No need to laugh at me.."

He wipes off the "tears" from his laughing.

"Dude, you are so clumsy."

Kyran rolls his eyes with a smile.

"I know that."

Evan still had a smirk on his face and a few laughs he wanted to let out.

And for some reason, Kyran didn't feel so bad about this night.

"Let's go take a stroll."

Without even waiting for Kyran's response, Evan walks off away from the alcohol fetor house.

Evan lets out a sigh of relief.

"Now this is how to spend your weekend night."

And Kyran couldn't agree any less.

The moon was beautiful. A big, blue ball shining across the lake and trees around them.

Usually, Kyran never visited nor paid any mind to their town's park but Evan was right out it being so pleasant to look at.

And it wasn't just the setting, it was also the atmosphere. It was all perfect.

All his worries about any unpassed or upcoming quizzes were all gone. He simply leans his back on the bench and lets his eyes relax.

A few moments pass with nothing but comfortable silence between the two.

Kyran almost mistook Evan to be asleep and he almost didn't mind waking up in the same place.

"Hey."

Evan's soft voice cuts off any train off thought from Kyran.

"Hm?"

"Why were you at that party?"

Kyran gives it a moment to think about.

"...I don't know."

"It's just...I never took you as that kind of guy."

Kyran playfully scoffs.

"Meanie."

"I didn't mean it like that!"

Kyran snickers at his response.

"I mean... You know. You were in that circle."

"What do you mean?"

Evan huffs.

"Like you guys were playing a game. What was it?"

"Why do you wanna know?"

"...Can't a guy be curious?"

Kyran almost laughs at that but then decides to entertain him.

"Spin the bottle."

"What's that?"

"It's when you spin the bottle two times and the two people it lands on has to kiss."

There's silence now.

Almost awkward silence.

"What?"

"Yeah."

"That's a thing?" Evan asks, bewildered.

"Yeah." Kyran snorts out. He couldn't even believe that Evan hadn't heard of that before.

"Then..."

"...Did you kiss anyone?"

Kyran doesn't reply right away. Instead, he contemplates on whether or not, to continue with his lie which he hadn't expected to go on this long.

"....No."

"Hm." Evan just hums at that.

A few seconds pass of awkward stillness until Evan interrupts once again

"Do you wanna play?"

Although his eyes were closed, he felt Evan readjust his position from beside him and also felt his eyes on him now. Still, he doesn't open his eyes.

He lets a moment pass until he realizes that what he just heard, wasn't his ears playing tricks on him.

"....What?" He finally opens his eyes to look at Evan.

The moon had only gotten brighter from before, adding even more light to the body of water in front of them and to the boy in front of him.

Kyran blinks a few times and Evan only looks at him.

"But...There's only two of us."

Evan shrugs.

He squints his eyes at the boy with the most neutral face ever.

"Bastard!" He hits Evan on the back of his head hard.

"OW!"

"Don't joke about that!" Kyran huffs, clearly flustered before returning to his earlier position with his arms crossed.

Evan pitifully consoles the part Kyran hit while muttering something.

"You're so childish... It wasn't even that hard." Kyran takes a look at it in case he really did hurt him.

"Was too..." Evan quietly mutters.

He hadn't anticipated how close they would be. Or maybe he was just exaggerating. But under the moonlight, Evan looked different. Pretty.

His hair had washed to a darker color thanks to the darkness yet his eyes looked brighter than usual.

It was too late when he realized that we was staring for too long.

Oh.

"I-"

"Wait."

They sit there. Just looking at each other. Longer than they should.

Kyran doesn't know what to do. If he should leave but he really doesn't want to.

Evan's eyes linger on Kyran's lips before meeting his eyes.

The usual emerald green, now a glistening yellow and blue. He could see everything. Even the want and yearn inside him.

"Evan-"

"Kyran."

He should leave.

Evan holds his wrist gently.

He should get up now.

Evan looks at him softly, like he's scared of doing something to make him run off.

It's dangerous.

Evan moves closer, or was it him?

He needs to go.

But their faces are so close together now. Evan moves even closer but stops mid-way. Their noses, almost touching.

He almost asks why.

"Are you unsure?"

Yes.

No.

He doesn't reply.

Evan retracts but Kyran stops him.

"No."

He almost wants to look away. Afraid that staring at him will make him do something he'll regret even more.

Kyran inches closer and Evan is the one to close the gap between them from under him.

They were kissing.

And it felt like the most natural thing in the world.

Like his lips belonged to him and on him only.

He didn't pay any mind to the fact that he had no experience because everything felt perfect.

Evan is kissing him and he's kissing him back.

Evan holds his neck, pulling him even closer and Kyran grabs the neckline of his t-shirt.

It felt heavenly.

It was addicting.

Like it was the only thing that could save him.

But then it hits him. And it hits him hard.

He frantically opens his eyes and pushes Evan on the bench.

"...I think I should- I'm gonna go."

He gets up from his place, leaving only Evan to be sitting there.

"What? Did I really make you uncomfortable?" Evan asks, genuinely.

"No, it's not that. It's just..."

He couldn't think of anything to say.

Evan gets up and goes towards Kyran

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that. I messed up-"

"No, I was..."

He hesitates for a second.

"I'm sorry, I'm just.."

"Wait!" Evan grabs his hand to stop him from going.

"Don't go."

Kyran looks at their hands before snatching his.

"I'm just.. I'm not ready for that."

He doesn't look at Evan.

"I'm also sorry... For the misunderstanding."

"Wait what?" Evan takes a step closer and Kyran does the opposite.

"I'm not... Gay."

"Wait, but-"

"I'm not gay, Evan."

"I'm sorry for what happened." Kyran says before walking off.
