Shouta Aizawa, also known as the pro hero Eraserhead, is a recent graduate of U.A. and recently married to Yamada Hizashi, also known as the pro hero Present Mic, who is also a recent graduate of U.A.
Shouta and Hizashi had been tiptoeing around each other since their first year when Shouta transferred into the heroics course. After some help from Oboro and Midnight, they started dating in their second year and made it official by moving in together in their third year. They got married right after graduating. Although, Shouta changed after Oboro passed away. He had very bad panic attacks and began drinking. He also had a very bad run-in with a villain who broke his knee and arm, and Shouta almost died. Hizashi was able to help him because of the support device that they gave each other as gifts. It's a A bracelet that monitors the person's health, location, and also allows the other person to send small messages or emergency messages. The only way to remove the device is if the other device is nearby and the person's fingerprint is scanned in the correct spot.
When Hizashi found Shouta, he was bleeding and barely hanging on and had to be rushed to the hospital. Hizashi spent a couple of sleepless nights hovering around Shouta's bed until Midnight came in and forced him to go home. When Hizashi returned, he was greeted by an awake Aizawa, whom he proceeded to slap. Stunned by the action, Aizawa just stared blankly at a crying Hizashi. As if on cue, Midnight also stormed in and slapped Aizawa.Looking at both his husband and best friend (don't tell Midnight), Aizawa felt hatred, shame, and sadness because of his actions. Aizawa could see the dark circles under their eyes and how unkempt they appeared despite trying to seem alright. Aizawa could finally admit to himself that he was not okay and that he needed to get his life back on track. Otherwise, he feared that the next time he got hurt, he wouldn't make it, or that Hizashi would grow tired of his actions and leave him.
Aizawa looked up at both Midnight and his husband and said, "I am so sorry. I am not okay." Both Midnight and Hizashi looked up at Shouta, then at each other, and rushed to Aizawa to hug him. Hizashi asked him to go to therapy, and Midnight told him to cut back on the liquor. Aizawa agreed to their terms and apologized again for his actions.
Two days later, Shouta was released from the hospital and taken home. Shouta was Looking at a long road of recovery because he needed physical therapy and regular therapy, however, he knew he could do it with the help of Midnight and Hizashi. As Shouta was getting several severe panic attacks and also had insomnia, Hizashi noticed how much he was struggling. Being the good husband he is, Hizashi contacted his mentor, Nedzu. After talking to Nedzu and figuring out how it would be possible to get a quirked animal to also be a service animal for a hero, Nedzu was able to help Hizashi get in contact with a quirked animal shelter and a service animal facility that trained quirked animals to help their handlers.
Hizashi was able to get an appointment much earlier because he is a pro hero. So Hizashi made plans; he had help from Midnight and Nedzu. Midnight helped keep Shouta busy at home, and Nedzu helped. Hizashi visited the animal shelter. When Hizashi and Nedzu pulled up to the shelter, they were greeted by a short, green-haired, and green-eyed woman named Midoriya standing at the gate, ready to let them in. She explained to them that the facility functioned like a sort of zoo with different habitats for the different types of animal species. She asked them if there was a specific animal they wanted. Hizashi was certain that he wanted a cat or a dog but was leaning towards a cat because Shouta loved cats. However, Hizashi said that he wasn't sure because Nedzu wanted to take a look at the whole facility. After all, with his past, Nedzu cared for quirked animals and wished that they were safe—especially because of his past and interactions with humans. There are a select few people that Nedzu can say he gets along with.
So Miss Midoriya took them on a tour of the whole facility. Nedzu and Hizashi were pleased to see that the animals were enjoying their time at the facility. As the facility worked as a zoo, other people were seen being given a tour of the place. The facility functioned smoothly, allowing guests or adopters to interact with an animal they were interested in without interrupting the other animals or guests. When they went to the feline section of the facility, Hizashi became more alert.
