Work Text:
Cindy groaned over her open maths textbook, her head in her hands. Felix was sat next to her, his posture as perfect as ever.
"Where exactly is the problem?" He pressed on, looking at her expectantly. She'd gotten stuck on another formula again, her mind drew a blank as she struggled to concentrate.
"I told you, I don't get it!" Cindy pushed her own notebook away, watching it slide across the table with a frown.
"Now, don't be like that." He pulled it back towards her, pointing his finger at what she wrote. She shot him a frustrated glare, she felt like she was going to scream if he asked her to start from the beginning again!
"Can't we just play instead? We've been sitting here for hours..." She rolled her head back, rapidly losing interest in whatever her boyfriend was just explaining to her.
"It's only been twenty minutes. Besides, you are the one who asked me to help you with your homework." Did he have to remind her of that? Cindy regretted ever opening that wretched book.
"Yeah, by "can you help me with my homework?" I meant "can you do my homework for me?", gosh, you really don't know how girls work..." She brought her knees up to her chest and rested her chin on them. If she was around, her mother would scold her for the unladylike manner of sitting right about now.
That's one of the reasons she preferred hanging out at Felix's place. Besides the totally cool rich people stuff, of course. She loved acting like a princess from a movie as she walked down the pristine white stairs, flipping her hair as she strolled through the halls like she owned them.
But now, things weren't as fun. Felix seriously wanted her to know things, ugh. She thought all she had to do was be mean and pretty and that was all he wanted from her, but he was actually trying to get her to "prioritize her education" or whatever. It sucked and she didn't like it!
However, she couldn't deny the burst of excitement that flooded her as she finally got a question right after a dozen failed attempts. She was looking at her paper, trying to think as Felix lectured her about this or that. She didn't shut him up this time, the white noise was appreciated.
"There you go, you're on the right path. Just remember what I told you earlier and you will get it right." He guided her gently and with the kind of patience he didn't show anyone else. It made her feel all warm and tingly inside if she thought about it too much, so she decided not to.
Her hand moved hesitantly, her eyes squinting as she slowly put two and two together and reached a coherent answer. All of a sudden the whole formula made sense.
She almost jumped out of her seat as it dawned on her that, hey, she's getting it! She's not as stupid as her mother, her teacher, and her exes think! Cindy grinned. They must be the stupid ones, because Cindy finally understood what she was doing. She all but shoved the paper into Felix's face. "Look! Look! I did it! I finally get it!"
Felix takes her wrist, carefully pulling her hands down and into his. "Yes, Yes, I knew you could."
She feels the warmth return again, both inside her tummy and now on her face too. She leaps up to give Felix a kiss on the cheek. Who would've thought that all of these things she used to think she would never understand could come so easily to her once someone actually sat down with her and helped her through it.
As satisfied as she was, Cindy still demanded they take a break now. She knows Felix doesn't like wasting time that could be spent studying, but she as his girlfriend is surely more important! It doesn't take a lot of convincing for him to begrudgingly set down his books and follow her.
This small victory is to be celebrated, Cindy decided. Off to the dollhouse they go!
