Crash Out

Summary:

Jey lost his title and Rhea is there for him.

Notes:

We are all sad. Trust me. I hated writing this. This is a short one, but trying to keep up with episodes. Excited for Friday and Jey wrecking havoc on Smackdown.

PSA. Yes, we didn’t get Jhea, but that is its own storyline. I don’t think it’s over, but Rhea and Jey have business and have to focus. We can still love Jhea even if they aren’t interacting and they don’t have to be in each others storylines.

And with that, enjoy. 🩵🩷💜🖤

Work Text:

Raw - October 21st, 2024 - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Rhea watched it all take place. She should have gone out there, but knowing Jey, he’d never forgive her. She should have done something though. Instead, she stood back here and watched the screen as Jey lost his title.

When it ended, she waited by the door of the Gorilla for Jey to come back. Everyone had started packing up, but she waited.

When he finally came through the curtain, she saw the look on his face. He was distraught. She knew that feeling all too well.

“… Jey.”

He slowly raised his head to look at her. His eyes looked empty. She felt for him. God, she’d had titles ripped from her too, but he had such a short reign. He deserved better. He deserved it to be longer.

Jey took a few steps forward and rested his forehead on her shoulder. Her arms went around his waist. She held onto him and whispered to him affirmations in his ear.

With gentle nudge, Rhea coaxed Jey with her to head for the locker rooms. Of course, she couldn’t enter the men’s locker room, so she gave him a peck on the cheek and told him she’d wait for him after she got her bag.

She quickly got her bag and made it back to the locker room. She leaned against the wall and looked through her phone as she waited.

After a good ten minutes, Jey was back. He had his bag, but he seemed so out of place without his title on his shoulder. She moved over to his side and put her arm around his waist. His arm went around her shoulder and they walked out the back of the stadium.

They were silent the entire time as they got their things in the van and got in. Jey’s fingers intertwined with Rhea’s in the van. When they were settled, their driver went ahead and started driving.

His eyes were on the scene of Philadelphia as they drove. Her eyes were on him. She didn’t know what to say. She just wanted to be there if he needed her. She couldn’t do anything to fix this, she could only just be there for him.

As they drove to the hotel, she moved to rest her forehead on his shoulder, staring out the window with him. They just soaked up each other's warmth.

Once at the hotel, they made their way up to their room. Jey had taken both of their luggage; his on his arm while rolling her’s beside him. He still held her hand the entire way up to their room.

Rhea let them into their room and closed the door behind them when they were in. Jey dropped his bag on the chair and pushed Rhea’s bag next to it. He moved to the bed and sat down. He rested his face in his hands and Rhea moved to sit next to him. Her hand rested on his thigh.

“Jey? Talk to me.”

Jey was silent for a moment before he dropped his hands and looked at Rhea. He looked hurt and broken, but anger was evident. He was mad.

“When I get my hands on Jacob, it’s over for him,” Jey said, his voice oddly calm, “If Solo for a second thinks I’ll forgive him for this, he’s got another thing coming. And Bron? He better keep that title warm because it’s coming back to me.”

Rhea wouldn’t lie, he was hot like this. Not that he wasn’t always, but this crash out Jey was definitely a sight. She’d seen it before, but her boys were on the receiving end. Now, she was just seeing it as an observer. She saw the intrigue.

And she was a woman who loved brutality. It was her whole thing. If Jey decided to crash out on the Bloodline, she’d wish him all the luck.

Her hand pressed gently to his cheek, “Bring the brutality, uce. Make them pay.”

He took hold of her wrist and kissed her palm. She smiled at him and he smirked, “Always one for violence, huh?”

She shrugged, “It’s my brand.”

Rhea leaned in and kissed him gently. She opened her eyes and looked at him, “You handle your business, then come back to me, alright?”

“I will,” Jey assured her with another kiss, “You put an end to Raquel and Liv and I’m going to make sure my blood doesn’t get in my way again.”

Rhea smiled against his lips, “That’s a promise.”

“It’s a threat.”

“Even better.”
