I’m finally home. He thought to himself, I’m exhausted… Tap. tap. That Irritating tapping on the window came once again. It’s that damn prissy kid… He thought to himself, his ears flicked, furrowing his brows. “Give me a moment…” he muttered, reaching his arms above his head and stretching before letting out a yawn, His tail flicking. He let out a yawn. Neku’s feet hit the floor with a careless motion, making thumping noises as he walked towards the window. He yanked his curtains open, seeing a familiar face smirking on the balcony. He shoved the window gate open, it slid, almost whacking the smirking prissy kid in the face.“
Hello Neku~♪…” Purred the grinning boy.
"Hello Joshua.” Neku’s voice was serious, his brows still furrowed and a look of annoyance on his face, His ears flicking again. The boy named Joshua leaned in further.
“Well then, Have you got an answer for my request?”
“I already told you. No way will I give up my life here for your… What do you even call it?”
“Being a stray.”
“Right.”
“Did anyone tell you how lovely your orange fur is, partner?”
“Flattery doesn’t work on me.” Neku crossed his arms.
“You're right, hee-hee… come on, won't you tear off your collar and join me in freedom? We could spend our days partnered together, catching fish and chasing pigeons under the moonlight. You only live once, so why don't we lay back a little bit?” Joshua tucked a strand of blonde hair behind his ear.
“No thanks. If I only live once then why shouldn't I stay where I'm safe? I'm not going to risk ending that one life because some driver wasn't looking where he's going. Unlike a certain somebody, I have enough class to give up and find somewhere where I can sleep in a warm bed instead of some cardboard box.”
“Your stubbornness is truly endearing you know.”
“Rather blunt aren't we? If you truly think your, well, borderline flirting will convince me to abandon my warm bed and free food, you're mistaken.”
“You know Neku, I've always dreamed of watching the Aurora with you… we could travel to many faraway places. What a wonderful thought that is, but alas you reject my offers.”
“It's not so easy to abandon my life here. I've got someone here who needs me! I can't just go around abandoning my owner just because you want someone to frolic with.” Neku replied, but as he spoke Joshua was walking away from the window balcony. “Wait! Where do you think you're going…? We're not done talking.” Joshua turned around to face Neku, smirking and waiting for him to speak again. “Umm… I said I wasn't going to go with you, but d- do you think you could come back again?” Neku awkwardly scratched the back of his neck, looking away
“I'll be back tomorrow, same time as always…”
“Thanks.”
