Work Text:
Now Misumi wasn't unaccustomed to spending the night at another person place, he had done it plenty times before. Having a sexy rendezvous of the night at a girl's place, before leaving early the next morning so the girl didn't get the wrong idea that this was anything more than a hook up between them had become his routine at this point.
Honestly, he would even go as far to say that it had practically become a fine art for him, so there was no reason he should feel weirded out by it, but then again he would've never expected that one day he'd be walking up at Taku's place though.
The clicking of Takumi's keyboard is what woke him, he thought he woke up pretty early as it was, but it seemed like gamers rose up even earlier.
"ESO again?" Misumi asked as he sat up on the couch that Takumi and him had slept together on last night.
He wasn't gamer by any means, but with how often Takumi played ESO when he did come by it would be impossible for him not to recognize it at this point.
"There's an event going on that I just can't miss," the blue haired boy responded as he continued to type away on his keyboard. An ultra-rare item was going to be rewarded to every player who could complete all the event’s challenges during the limited time it ran, it was an opportunity he wasn't going to miss no matter what.
"Sounds important," Misumi said before he awkwardly found himself looking around Takumi's room once more.
Takumi was an introvert, so not talking to someone who was in the same room with him didn't bother him. Hell, he probably preferred it that way considering how anxious he got talking to anyone new, but to an extrovert like him sitting in silence like this was killing him.
"Hey Taku, I'm feeling kind of thirsty do you have anything around here to drink?"
He didn't know why he was prolonging his stay. If he had woken up at anyone else's place he would've made up some excuse to leave by now, but for some strange reason he didn't want to leave Takumi just yet.
"There's some in the mini fridge, help yourself," Takumi said while not looking up from his game in the process.
Hoping up from his seat on the couch, Misumi walked over to the mini fridge in the corner of Takumi's room to open up it up and pull out a single water bottle from inside.
Taku really loves that game doesn't he? I swear he probably likes it a lot more than me, Misumi thought as guzzled down some of the water in his hand.
Not that he particularly cared if Takumi liked him like that, what the two of them were doing was just a thing between friends and nothing more than that so it definitely didn't bother him, but...
"Oh? That's a bright bracelet you got there, didn't take you for the accessorizing type," Misumi suddenly spoke up and said when he noticed the new bracelet that sat on Taku's desk.
He hadn't noticed that the last time he had come here, had that been some new merch Taku bought or...?
"That?" Taku said after he looked over at the bracelet Misumi was talking about, "Kozupii gave me that."
"Kozupii?" Who was Kozupii? Was that the name of another one of fictional waifus? The name of one of his guildmates online? Or could it be the name to another IRL friend Taku had that he didn't know about?
His stomach started to turn at the last though. For some reason, the thought of Takumi having another IRL friend that was that close to him like that annoyed him to no end and he didn't know why.
"S-Sorry! I mean Kozue the new girl in our class, she calls herself Kozupii as a nickname," Takumi quickly clarified.
"So that's who it's from," Misumi replied in an oddly relief tone. Kozue was the new short blond girl that had transferred to their class. He remembered who she was since she always wore two distinctive black bows on either side of head that connected to her long flowing pigtails.
"Though I can't believe you managed to get such a cute gift from an adorable girl like that Taku. You two must be really close if she gave you something like that," Misumi teased.
Despite the fact that there was a smile on his face on the outside, Misumi's heart had started to twist on the inside. He wondered if he was coming down with something, because he was feeling all sorts of odd today especially when he thought about Takumi.
"We're not that close. She just tagged along with me when I went out one time," Takumi explained. Not that I really wanted her too, is what he wanted to add after the fact, but even he knew that would be too mean.
"Well, whether you two are close or not doesn't take away the fact that you've become pretty popular with the ladies lately. I mean first that FES chick showed interest in you at school after we visited her concert together and now this Kozupii girl is giving you gifts, with how popular you've grown you might have to start fending girls off at this point."
He never thought he have seen the day come. He thought Takumi was destined to stay locked in his room entranced in the world of 2-D forever, but maybe this was proof that his 3-D life was still salvageable.
"Kozupii she's just an acquaintance to me, and Ayase? She's just a really crazy chick," Takumi told him. Honestly, if he had a choice in the matter then he really didn't want to have anything to do with either of them.
"A hot crazy chick!" Misumi pointed out. Takumi couldn't forget the hot part.
"But still I can't believe it my Taku on first name basis with an attractive lead singer? I don't think I could be prouder," Taku had truly started to become a man in more ways than one.
"Y-Your Taku...?!" Takumi turned to look at him and said with a red face.
"Wait, no didn't mean it like that!" Misumi defensively shouted back when he realized what he just said sounded like, "Like you're my Taku in a you’re my man kind of a way."
"I'm... I'm your man now!" Takumi replied, eyes blinking a mile a minute by how shocked he was by the revelation, "I... I didn't realize the two of us were that serious..."
"No, not in that way either! I meant that you're my man in a you're my bro kind of way!" Misumi hurriedly tried to clarify. It was completely platonic! He had just said that as a bro hyping up another bro! He definitely hadn't meant it in a romantic way!
"Right... Of course... It's just when you said that while wearing one of my shirts I just kind of assumed..." Takumi awkwardly looked off to the side and trailed off.
"Hey! It's not like I picked the damn thing out myself! You were the one that gave this shirt to ME in the first place!" Misumi quickly reminded him while trying to fight off the blush that had appeared on his own face.
Usually when he knew he was going to be staying that night at Takumi's place he would typically bring a spare change of clothes to change into the next day, but this time in the excitement of spending the night with the other boy he had completely forgotten to do that. Taku had nervously offered him some of his own clothes to wear to help him out and not thinking much of at the time he accepted it graciously.
Though if he had known it would end up with him wearing a grey and pink sweater with a massive picture of an anime girl called Seira printed across it, then he probably would've reconsidered his choice back then.
Apparently, all of Takumi's regular sweater he wore had just so conveniently ran out and all he had left for him to wear was loud graphic tee sweaters such as this one. The style was a bit too fanboyish for his taste, but compared to the other sweaters Takumi had showed him that he could pick from, it was still the one that was tamest in comparison.
The loudness or style of the shirt wasn't what really bothered him the most when he wore it though, what did bother him was how strangely domestic he felt in it.
Now he wasn't someone, who normally longed for domestic life. He was young and just wanted to have some fun before anything else, but he had to admit there had always been a certain appeal to seeing a girl wear only his t-shirt after he hooked up with them.
Any guy would agree, there was something totally hot and attractive about seeing a girl wear only your shirt that it couldn't help but ignite a flame within you and make you want to take her back for round two.
Wait a minute, now that he thought about it wasn't he the hot attractive girl in this scenario? Sure, he knew he was already pretty hot and attractive, I mean just look at him after all! But could that have been the real reason Takumi had given him this shirt? Because he thought he looked good in it?
Misumi started to unconsciously fiddling with the end of the sweater. Wait, what the hell he doing?! Why was he getting flustered over the idea of Takumi finding him attractive?! He was Daisuke Misumi, he was the one people fell head over heels for not the other way around so why the hell did he currently feel like some lovesick girl over Taku of all people?
"You know what never mind, are you... are you winning Taku?" Misumi spoke up and said in an attempt to try to change the conversation.
If it helped distract him from his currents thoughts then he would welcome any other topic of conversation at the moment, even if that did include Taku's passionate ramblings of ESO.
"Winning what...? The game? Of course I am," the other boy answered. He was beating all the event challenges no problem, there's no way he would ever lose when it came to ESO.
An uncharacteristic silence left Misumi after that, and unsure how to respond to that Takumi ended up saying, "You know you can come look and see me play if you want."
Curious, to see the other boy play (since he had only barely caught glimpses of Takumi's play sessions before) Misumi walked over till he was standing next to the other boy who sat in his chair.
"Wow! You're really good at this Taku!" The brunet praised as he watched his friend play on screen. He couldn't exactly tell what was going on with all the data that littered over the screen, but the way Takumi easily took down swarms of enemies with his character's sword was pretty badass.
"This is nothing! I could win this with my eyes close cause it's so easy!" Takumi proudly declared.
A smile appeared on Misumi's face in response, Taku got surprisingly fired up when it came to ESO didn't? Honestly, this new cocky side to the usual timid Takumi was pretty cool, but it did make him want to put this new found confidence of his to the test though...
"Mi-Misumi!" Takumi shouted when he felt the other boy suddenly sit on his lap all and start kissing him.
"You said you could do it with your eyes closed and I do want attention Taku~" Misumi teased as he kissed him once more. It was fun to mess with him like this every once in a while.
"It's way easier to focus with my eyes closed than trying to do it while being distracted like this!" Takumi embarrassingly spat back.
Even with his eyes clothes, his muscle memory alone was enough to carry him throughout the game, but if he was distracted like this then there is no way he'd be able to focus enough to play normally let alone do something that required his full concentration like recalling his muscle memory.
"Honestly, with the way you're acting it's like you're almost jealous of the game taking my attention from you."
"Eh...? Wait, Misumi you aren't actually jealous of the game are you?" Takumi asked when he felt the boy stop all of the sudden. That last statement had just been a thought that accidentally slipped out of his head, but had he been right? Had the Daisuke Misumi seriously gotten jealous over a game?
A slight blush rose on the brunet's face before he shouted, "Definitely not! I was.... I was just trying to show you that the 3-D world can be just as fun as the 2-D one!"
It was definitely nothing more than that so...
"You should just forget about the game and only focus on me for now," Misumi continued to say before he went back to kissing the other boy once more.
There was no way he could be jealous, because if he was jealous that that might mean he actually like Taku as something more than just a friend and that was something that could never happen in a million years, so there was absolutely no way he was jealous over Takumi.
