Chapter Text
They were singing again. A cover of Light and Night this time.
Apollo and Artemis were getting along, but it was still rocky and Atlas clearly wasn’t satisfied with it. Mind had just finished his part.
Soul’s turn.
“{Tonight, you’ve survived out of pity and spite.}” he sounded so solemn. It was an odd tone coming from the usually erratic third.
“{All night, you have vied for your place in the light.}” He glanced at the duo. “{But I won’t be split in two, won’t be him or you.}”
Atlas was reaching for something.
“{We will be combined, whether that be dead or alive.}”
Soul’s face split into a grin. His demeanor immediately changed from melancholy to an almost insane excitement.
“{LET’S BLUR THESE LINES!}”
Oh, so it was an act.
Mind’s breath hitched as Atlas pulled out his trident. His body exploded into an unfamiliar, uncomfortable, painful feeling.
It was like his brain was being electrocuted. He could feel every single thing he bottled up and tried to forget being forced out. It could hear Heart yelling in pain, but it barely had time to register the sound before-
