His eyes gave it away.
Kasen had gone off to training and come back. There'd been no fanfare before nor after. He spoke of Sansai-sama fondly and openly. He learned a great deal from his former master, he explained, and he'd endeavor to emulate him in many aspects.
Kasen seemed to have fooled others with this extravagant talk of accepting others. Chougi knew better, though—he knew this was not the man he loved—this was someone who looked like him and talked like him and was anything but.
Was this ghost biding his time?
His eyes gave it away.
