Work Text:
They had been stuck at the station for hours now. The world outside was pure chaos and they had yet to be called for an emergency. This could only mean that when they did, it was not gonna be an easy one. They could all feel it.
The rain and the wind had started to get stronger and stronger, and that was only part of what they could see. All of them know that if, no, when they get a call, one of them might not come back.
And that's why when Eddie turned to start walking away from them at the side of the truck they’re all hanging out at, even though Buck knew Bobby was in his seat and Hen and Chim could see them, Buck couldn’t take it anymore. Not knowing what would come next. If he would be able to come back home to Eddie.
So, Buck grabbed Eddie’s wrist and turned him back, and before he could say anything he kissed him. Buck kissed Eddie and he couldn’t even hear the gasps and the teasing that were probably coming from his friends. It was like the whole world stopped just for them.
It was a chaste kiss, a gentle one, but Buck put all of his feelings into that kiss in the hopes Eddie could feel it too.
He was about to break it but Eddie’s hand was on his neck and he didn’t let Buck go far before his lips were back to another one, like he didn’t want it to end too.
But it did, and when they broke apart Eddie’s face was a mist of confusion, curiosity and so much love in his eyes, Buck could even imagine that yeah, that’s probably how he looked at Eddie the whole time.
“What was that for?” Eddie asked.
“Just in case I never get to do that.” Buck answers.
