Chapter Text
After Kurt came back from a mission, something seemed off about him. He seemed more exhausted, and he was coughing a lot more too. He always excused himself from training, and his under eyes were darker than before. Of course, Logan subconsciously took note of this. He would never admit it to himself, but he was worried about Kurt. Whenever he walked past his room, he could hear him coughing. And even, occasionally, whenever Kurt sneezed he would teleport somewhere else, which stirred up some talk amongst the others. “He’s clearly sick. Why isn’t he sayin’ anything?” Rogue said worriedly, sighing at the end of her sentence with her hands on her hips. They were all clearly worried about him, yet Kurt himself had no idea they had noticed. He thought he was a great liar, yet everybody else knew otherwise. Just as they were in the middle of their conversation, Kurt had teleported in, yawning. “Hallo, meine Freunde.” He said groggily, rubbing his eyes. “Apologies for being late.. I,, er,, overslept.” He muttered, voice raspy and hoarse. Scott walked over towards him, putting a hand on his shoulder. “You don't sound so good, Kurt. Are you really okay?” Hearing this, Kurt tensed up and started stammering incoherent words. “Ah.. I, well..” Scott rubbed his shoulder comfortingly, trying to reassure him that he doesn't have to be hiding everything. Also, telling him that he can ask for help if needed. “I’m fine, real-” Just as Kurt was about to finish his sentence, he broke out into a coughing fit. Scott held him, rubbing his back. Kurt slowly started to melt into his arms, drifting off into a slumber. The others stood there in silent shock, all thinking the same thing. “What just happened?” As Scott carried Kurt away, Rogue had pointed something out about Logan. “What's with the sour look, sugar cube?” She questioned him, although she had an idea as to what it was. “Nothin’, bub.” Logan grumbled, walking off in the opposite direction from Kurt and Scott. Back with the two, Scott had already tucked Kurt into bed, gently feeling his forehead. He flinched slightly when he felt it, though, due to the moistness of his fur. Scott had a look of pity on his face. Seeing Kurt like this.. knowing how long he had been like this, it made him feel terrible. He tucked Kurt’s hair behind his ears, hoping that it’ll make him feel less heated. “Your poor, poor little elf.” Scott muttered to himself, holding Kurt’s hand softly. “How is he?” Logan said gruffly, leaning against the doorway and crossing his arms. Hearing his voice, Scott jumped and quickly put his hands back onto his lap. “Not great, he.. he’s burning.” He sighed, his brows furrowing in sadness. Scott didn't take his eyes off of Kurt’s limp, furry body. “I’ll look over him for a while, you can go train.” Logan’s gruff tone had seemed to have softened slightly, or at least enough where Scott noticed. He hesitated for a second; Scott wasn't sure if Logan would be comfortable with this. After thinking it over, he made up his mind, and got up. “Thank you.” Scott pat Logan’s shoulder, and walked off to the training room. Logan silently sat next to Kurt, his arms crossed and his eyes closed. Although he did not show it, he was worried. He couldn't believe how long it took him to notice how bad Kurt was feeling, and that made his stomach turn. Logan sighed, grumbling incoherent words. Although it had only been around ten minutes, his anxiousness only grew. His foot had been aggressively tapping, and he was unsure as to what to do. He figured it would be okay to get up, but just as he did, he felt something wrap around his wrist. On instinct, he went to grab whatever it was, but just as he was about to he noticed it was a blue, fuzzy tail. Logan looked over towards Kurt, and saw that he was still fast asleep. He took this as a sign to sit back down, and so he did. Though, even when he sat back down, the tail did not let go. Logan didn't know how he felt inside, he only could feel how warm the area that Kurt was touching was. He sighed, crossing his arms and drifting off to sleep. Meanwhile, Rogue and Scott were talking about Kurt with a worried tone. They both cared for him deeply, and hated seeing him so sickly. One thing that was stuck on their mind, though, was the fact that Logan, of all people, wanted to watch over Kurt. They would have never expected him to actually worry that much about him, and even to the point where he would watch over him. They all knew that Logan cared for Kurt at least a bit, but they didn't realise how deeply he did. Everybody was worried about him, since they had no idea how long he’d actually been feeling like this, or how long he went without medication. Scott especially, due to how close they were.
