Chapter Text

Miku stared silently at the four crystal balls lying on the grass with a sad expression. Each crystal ball cracking even more than before. They were almost unrecognizable from their original forms, bright with indigo blue, with a musical note engraved into each of them.

How did it become like this? Where did she go wrong? She stared at the one remaining crystal ball in her hands, its once vibrant, vivid, colors now slowly diminishing into a grey, dull black. She laid it right next to the once starry and bright crystal ball that was now as dark as the night sky, without any stars.

Miku heard footsteps coming from behind her, the grass rustling underneath every step of the person’s heel.

“There’s nothing we can do now.” It was Luka, her voice was full of sadness as she looked at the crystals balls, they were becoming more and more disfigured by the moment, particles of crystals flying away from them.

Those very crystals represented five certain Sekai’s.

One with stars that shone brightly against the dark hues of the night sky, resounding with the sounds of instruments.

One that was empty but was yet filled with warmth by the people who occupied it.

One that was filled with beautiful graffiti, a beautiful world created by the dreams of four people to surpass a legendary event.

One filled with joyous laughter and colors whenever you went, made by four people who wanted to bring smiles to the world.

One that had brilliant, bright stages for miles, with colorful glowsticks everywhere, with four people who wanted to bring hope to so many.

Those very Sekai’s that held all those people’s feelings, were now being corrupted. They were crumbling with despair, pain and sadness.

They were different from the few abandoned Sekai’s the vocaloids have seen throughout the years. Those corrupted Sekai’s were disappearing, literally outright fading. The abandoned Sekai’s at least remained, though they were empty.

The feelings were…disappearing.

“I know. Where did we go wrong?” Miku sighed, her hand hovering over the small crystal particles emitting from the dull crystals.

“I don’t know, but we can’t change their fate now.” Luka put a hand on Miku’s shoulder, Miku immediately leaned into the touch, a comforting presence amongst the emotional turmoil she was currently feeling.

“The feelings, the magic in those Sekai’s can’t vanish. They transform into curses and embed themselves into the kids themselves. They’ve gone insane already. This will make them unstoppable. ” Luka murmured.

“So many innocent people will die! Those kids will fall even deeper into madness! I couldn’t save them!” Miku cried, her head swishing to meet Luka’s miserable gaze, tears slipping out of her eyes, falling onto the grass like rain droplets.

“There’s nothing we can do now. We can only watch as they tear this world apart.” Luka said, her as darkening with dread.

Miku looked back at the flickering crystals, dimming more and more with darkness, cracks deepening even more with every second. Luka was right, there’s was nothing they could do now.

The kids they knew were no longer, in their places were vengeful spirits, seeking revenge against the world that had so wronged them.

Screams decorated every inch of scramble crossing. There were people screaming and running from as far as the eye could see.

Plants and sharp thorns made of dirt and stone stabbed into nearby people, the number of bodies dirtying the ground were slowly increasing, blood pooling around their bodies.

The ground was now stained a dirty red, oozing and flowing out of the victims bodies.

Tentacles of wood and thorns flailed around, entrapping several people with its sharp barricades.

To make things worse, the nearby windows of buildings cracked, splintering into sharp shards of clear glass.

They swirled around like a hurricane, stabbing people in their legs, preventing them from running.

Sharp spires of rock erupted from the ground quickly after their legs gave out, cutting its way through their stomachs.

Parents embraced their children in a desperate attempt to save them, only to be ripped apart from the very children they were trying to protect with shards of glass stabbing themselves into their backs.

Police officers surrounded the area, futile attempts to curb the crowd and keep everyone safe were made, only to be countered by another wave of glass and stone.

But that was the least of their worries now, the ground beneath everyone rumbled, the sound of something barking echoed, causing everyone to turn at the direction of the sound.

Only to be met with the sight of a giant dog, a Shiba Inu, to be exact, running towards the crowd at a fast speed. Cracks appeared underneath the ground as the dog’s paws hit the ground again and again every time it leaped closer and closer to the crowd of people.

Everything was silent for a moment. No one said a word as the dog’s paws hit came closer and closer.

They only moved once they registered blood splattering onto their faces, as a result of the giant dog stepping on several people at once, crushing them underneath its heavy weight.

The screams came back tenfold, everyone ran with a renewed vigor with the determination of living through what was now hell.

The Shiba Inu paraded around Scramble Crossing, its tail knocking people into poles or buildings, crushing people with its paws.

To make things worse as if the universe was against them, a gust of fog had suddenly spread throughout the entirety of Scramble Crossing, confused cries and screams were heard, the only slightly comprehensible light source were the sirens of the police cars.

The rabid giant dog was no where to be found, no one could see the thorns of earth erupting from the ground, nor could they see glass shards.

They had no choice but to wander around in an aimless mist.

Everyone hoped with their heart that it had finally stopped, no one would die anymore!

Out of the blue, the sounds of glass and earth swirling around had stopped, only to be reawakened for a moment at the centre of Scramble Crossing, the sounds the stone erupting and crystalline shards swirling around at a concentrated point in the area.

Chidlren’s cries and people yelling, running away from the source of the sound increased tenfold at the sound.

Everyone was blind in the fog, nothing but mist filled their eyes, people blindly pushed into other people, turning the area into a battlefield of survival.

They had to escape, to run away for the sake of surviving, fight or flight? Most people always chose the latter.

What was happening? Why did this have to happen? Those were the thoughts running through every persons mind as the fog slowly cleared, light from the afternoon sun slowly bleeding back into the earth, highlighting the dead corpses of people, making the blood tint a golden red.

The fog had cleared, revealing four high school girls in grey uniforms, the uniforms of Miyamsukaza, sitting on a platform made of stone and glass, the giant Shiba Inu laid beside them.

One of the four girls had sharp unforgiving icy, stormy grey-blue eyes with long raven hair, she sat at the centre of the four girls with her legs crossed, staring down at the pathetic crowd of people beneath her.

Her head rested in her cheek, as she flicked her index finger upward, the fog had now fully disappeared, revealing the number of people pushed against each other, limbs entangling as they all pushed and tired to back away from the mysterious girls. Her black hair danced with the sudden breeze of wind, framing her face perfectly.

There was a grey-haired girl standing next to her, one of their hands were in the pockets of their green jacket. They scoffed at the sight infront of them, police officers holding guns with shaky hands, people quivering under the sight of the platform of rock and glass, “Tch, miserable.”

A stone laid in their hand, but not touching their palm, it was floating around aimlessly. The grey-haired girl sighed before flicking her hand, the spires of dirt and earth sunk back into the ground, where they once came from. Green eyes bored into the crowd below, judging their every action.

There was another girl, with bright pink eyes full of cruel amusement and a tooth grin on her face. She sat on a boulder near the ravenette, twirling her hair. A shard of glass danced in her palm, flying around her hand without her touching it. Her fingers moved in a circular motion, controlling the shard of glass.

She had pigtails, each one dusted with an orange pink at the end. She laughed cynically at the sight of people tackling and pushing against one another while their faces were faced at the direction of the four girls, “Hey hey guys! Look at all their faces! They’re gaping like stupid idiots!”

A brunette with curly hair and a side ponytail stood next to the blonde, she was so very clearly trying not to grin at the depressing sight of children crying over their parents dead bodies along with people crying over their loved ones. She hummed, putting a hand on the blonde’s shoulder, in which the blonde immediately leaned into the touch, grinning.

She wore a beige cardigan over her school uniform, the girl had clear blue eyes that reflected the sky. She patted the giant Shiba Inu beside her that nestled against the rock platform. The dog barked happily, its tail wagging and causing huge gusts of wind to blow at the dumbfounded, horrified crowd.

“A-are you the people that caused this?! Who are you?!”A brave police officer shouted. Brave, but stupid.

“Are you dumb? Of course we caused this, do you literally not see the fucking stone platform we are standing on right now?” Shiho deadpanned, eye twitching impatiently.

Ichika, Saki and Honami chuckled at Shiho’s blunt response, Ichika stood up before kissing them on the cheek, then turned to face the crowd.

“People of Shibuya, from this day onward, you will all be under the control of me, us, and all our siblings. Our family is quite excited to wreak this city, this is just…a preview of what to come.” A smile appeared on Ichika’s face as she absorbed the looks of pure terror on the crowds faces.

Horror, fear, grief. Those emotions were etched onto every single persons face as the words of the ravenette sunk into them.

Another police officer clicked his tongue in annoyance, not believing the words of the four girls, “Why are you just talking there?! SHOOT!”

What was left of the police force that surrounded the area after Shibao had crushed a good amount of them fumbled with their guns for a moment before attempting to shoot the four girls on the rocky platform.

Not a moment later, with a flick of a hand, thorns erupted from the ground, killing several police officers at once, blood staining the top of each spire.

Another flick, shards of transparent glass embedded themselves into the bodies of another several police officers. Blood pooled the police uniforms, they all fell to the ground at once, dying with their eyes open with horrified expression on their faces.

A snap from Ichika, rest of the police officers left all plummeted to the ground, an invisible force crushing them. The cracking of bones could be heard, blood poured out of their mouths as they continued to get crushed and crushed, until they were nothing but disfigured corpses on the ground.

Shibao loomed over what were now the dead bodies of the police officers before dipping its head down and gobbling them up, cracking all their bones even further with its sharp teeth, blood dripped down its jaw, guts and blood flew everywhere.

A messy, gory scene. The blood of the corpses has been spilled onto the bystanders faces.

Even the police officer that didn’t believe them now joined the fray of the other in being Shibao’s meal.

“Well, now you have it! Believe us now?” Saki grinned, latching herself onto Ichika’s arm.

“Well they would be stupid not to now. Right, Shiho?” Honami moved to Shiho’s side, patting her shoulder.

Shiho flashed her a small smile before turning back to the terrified crowd, their expression turning less friendly in an instant.

Ichika smiled at her partners antics, who could be more perfect than them? The shining stars that illuminated her night sky.

She gave Saki a kiss on the cheek before turning back to the crowd, who were terror struck with the sight of a giant dog devouring the corpses of police officers and the sight of four girls with powers who had slaughtered them ruthlessly.

She smiled, a big one at that. Her eyes filled with excitement, happiness and cynicism.

“We’re excited to get started with this game, be excited. This is our debut, get ready.”
