꒰ 🌌 ꒱ؘ ࿐ ࿔*:･ﾟ The Doctor had gain many names through his travels, had did many things he both regret and not. One of them being destroying his entire planet, along with his people and another species. He have no choice, a voice in his head said, the war needed to end before it destroy the whole universe. It's either his people or the universe. And like the kind man he is, he unselfishly choose to save the universe.

He often wonder what will his family would say if they know what he did, what would they do? Will they curse him? Probably. Would they shunt renounce him? Maybe. Would they forgive him? Definitely not. He can't even forgave himself, why would they? What he did was unforgivable and such a monstrous thing to do. He killed his people. All of those children.

No. The Doctor cannot forgive himself. Not until he met a peculiar little girl, laughing and giggling with his TARDIS. How can such tiny human can communicate with his beloved ship is beyond him. But as the Time Lord looked into her innocent blue eyes, he couldn't help feel warm and light. Like the burden was lifted from his shoulder.

Somehow the small redhead girl managed to heal a fraction of his wounds, just a small fraction and yet it meant so much for the lonely man.

꒰ 💀 ꒱ؘ ࿐ ࿔*:･ﾟ Euphemia "Mia" Potter-Black grew up in a loveless and cold home. From such a tender age of 6, Mia had already known the harshness of the world. As an orphan girl and raised with an abusive relatives, the young redhead crave the feeling of the comforting touch of a mother. Or the protective hug of a father. Or just love in general.

And when she had thought she will able to escape the beatings of her relatives, Mia was entrusted with a burden of being the savior of her kind. Mia Potter was held in a pedestal of expectations. The Wizarding Britain had expect the young girl to be a perfect heroine and to protect them from the harshness of the world, cowering behind her. They kept on taking and taking from the young girl and never gave anything back. They would renounce her when they didn't like what she did. Called her the next Dark Lady, when all she ever wanted was some peace.

And that peace came from a man from the star with his beautiful blue box. The man she fondly call Mr. Doctor had became her rock in the never ending expectations and battles. He had became her comfort in the days she felt like crying. Her break from all of the expectations and battles. Her protector, giving her the strength to carry on and live.

Because that was he is. The Doctor had became her lifeline as he unknowingly taught her how to live.

[ Surrey, London | 1986 ]

Silence never been this loud for the Doctor as he sat in a bench. The newly regenerated Time Lord was mourning silently and alone. It just dawned on him that he destroyed his planet. Had killed his people - family, friends, children.

But there's no other way. He had tried to reason for a millionth time. But it didn't change the fact that he committed a mass genocide. Did not change the fact that he is utterly and completely alone. No home to go back to. It was just him and his TARDIS now.

His beloved ship who he had stolen when he was too much of a coward. The TARDIS who had been by his side through his adventures. The TARDIS who had protected him and his companions time and time again. The same TARDIS who is now talking to a little girl-

Wait, what?

The Time Lord look back and sure enough, a little redhead girl sat in front of his ship, talking animatedly.

He watched the peculiar scene from his spot on the bench. The TARDIS was flicking her light every now and then, humming in reply to the girl who are now giggling and replying back. Like she can understand his ship.

Walking over he heard the last bit of their conversation, "...And the little snake was hiding in my hair all along!"

The girl laugh at her own story and his ship was flickering her light as if laughing along with her.

"What are doing out here alone, little miss?" He asked softly trying not to startled the little human.

She looks quite unsure whether to replied to him or not. The blue ship hum, more likely to inform the girl that she knew him.

"Oh! He's your thief?" She then tilt her head to the side, confused written on her face, "then did he steal you from someone?"

Instead of being offended, the Doctor laughed. He hadn't laugh like that since the war started.

"Oh, so sorry mister" she have a guilty look on her face as well as fear in her eyes which the man notice.

The Doctor waved her off. He understood why his ship took liking towards the little girl. She's so innocent and pure and bright. She radiates a warm feeling that seems to comfort anyone she met. She looks at him curiously with her bluish gray eyes that seems to glow in the low light. Like the stars that accompanied the moon.

The Doctor sat beside his ship, leaning against the woody surface as he observed her. Only then did he noticed how she's shivering. The shirt was too big for her small frame that it kept slipping from the shoulders. He proceed to take off his leather jacket and draped it to the little girl who thanked him.

Despite being too big for her, it gave her warmth in the cold air of November.

"What's your name? I'm the Doctor"

"Doctor? Doctor who?"

The alien smiled at the pure curious question, "Just the Doctor"

The little girl just accept his name and introduced herself, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Doctor. I'm Mia Potter. Well, Euphemia but it's too long so I go by Mia"

"What's this I heard about a snake hiding in your hair?" that prompt Mia to retell her story on how she found a baby snake on her aunt's garden while tending the flowers.

He internally frown as she listen to her stories. Why would a little girl like her who is probably 6 years old, tending to her aunt's garden? In fact, what is she doing in the park in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes on her?

"Mia, what are you doing out here all alone? Where are your parents?" his questions made the smile on the little redhead's face fall.

Her eyes became droopy with sadness and her lips turn upside down. She fidget with the sleeves of the jacket.

"Mum and dad are gone. They died in a car crashed. I lived with my Aunt and Uncle and Cousin Dudley"

Who in Rassilon named their child Dudley?

"Then why are you here and not at home sleeping?"

"Uncle Vernon said I'm not allowed in the house because I burnt dinner"

The Doctor's eyes darken. What kind of a person who tossed a little girl out of the house in a cold night because she burnt their dinner? She wasn't supposed to be cooking dinner in the first place! Humans cared little for their youngsters.

"How old are you, Mia?" she held out her fingers.

Six. She's six years old. And was treated like a maid by her relatives, if you even call them that. His heart ached as he watched her return to her conversation with his ship. Brilliant bluish gray eyes reflecting the dim lit light before them. This brilliant and oh so bright little human being. Who's smile could lit up the universe. Who's eyes filled with so much life, looking like the stars itself. This poor, sweet little girl.

Mia tilted her head slightly as she stared back at the kind man in front of her. Despite his small smile and kind eyes, there's something in them that made the little girl frown.

"Why are you sad, Mr. Doctor?"

The question startled the male. He didn't expect the little human to be more observant than most of her species. She also have a frown on her lips, like she doesn't like him being sad and gloomy. He hesitated to tell him, not wanting to traumatized the young redhead.

"I did something bad, very bad. And now I'm all alone"

He expect her to be wary of him and move away, but she didn't. In fact, she continue to stare at him.

"Did you regret it?"

"Hmm?"

"Did you regret what you did?"

"I did. But it was the only way to stop the war. It's either them or..."

Memories of the Time War flooded his mind. He's been trying to forget it, but the screams and cries kept getting louder and louder.

A small hand snap him from the horrible memories. Mia had moved forward, she gaze at him with worried eyes.

"I'm sorry you have to experience that. I'm sure they'll able to forgive you"

"I don't think they will. I can't even forgive myself for what I did"

Mia frowned even more. She doesn't like the sad look on Mr. Doctor's face. She doesn't want him to be sad, but she doesn't know how to cheer him up either.

"Then...Um.." The Doctor smiled at how the little human tried to cheer him up, tried to comfort him.

Her eyes lit up, a smile forming on her lips, "Then I'll forgive you!"

The Doctor froze at her words. She's too young to understand and yet here she is, still trying to cheer him up, a complete stranger.

"I know I don't count but it's nice to know that someone out there forgives you, right?"

Tears formed in the Time Lord's eyes as he choked on a sob. This little human doesn't know who he is nor what he did and yet she forgives him for a crime she doesn't even understand.

Small arms wrapped around the male's broad shoulders as she patted his head. The Doctor move the redhead girl to his lap as he hug back. Mia doesn't mind, in fact, she continues to pat his head like how she saw her teacher did to her classmates when they cried. Her little heart ache at the sobs from the kind man before her. She hope that one day he won't be sad anymore.

They sat there for hours until the first light of dawn appeared, only then did they separate. Her small hands wipe the remaining tears in the older man's face.

"I have to go now. But I hope one day, you'll be able to forgive yourself, Mr Doctor" Mia got up and dusted herself, taking off the jacket before handling it back to the man.

The Doctor sighed before draping the jacket once again on her little form before kneeling down.

"You are such a bright and fantastic girl, Mia Potter. Don't ever doubt yourself, because one day you'll shine like the stars. Do like the stars, Mia?" Said girl nodded eagerly, her eyes never losing their glow.

"Then you'll shine as bright as them, maybe even more brighter"

The smile she gave him warmth his cold and lonely hearts. Even as far as somewhat mending them. Because that's the kind of person she is, the Doctor was so sure. It sadden him that he will never see her again. Won't see the person she grow to be. But he will never forget her. The little redhead girl who somehow able to give him hope with her bright smile and brilliant eyes.

And even now, several years later, as the Doctor stood in the middle of busy London, waiting for his blonde companion to return. His thoughts go back to that sweet girl who manage to befriend his beloved ship and bought a smile to his lips.

"Remember, Mr. Doctor. You're forgiven, always and forever forgiven"
