It was a warm, autumn day, the breeze was just the right amount of cold, not enough to make you want to curl up into a warm ball, but a comfortable cold. Layne and Shannon had decided to go to this very small and not well known cafe called "Relax Jazz Cafe" Which was located on a wooden peer, next to a lake, with a house on the other side of the lake, a small table and two chairs sat close by the cafe stand, that had all sorts of drinks and sweet treats to feast on. Leaves falling from the golden orange-yellow tree, the breeze making the branches sway like a dance, Layne sucking in a deep breath of the autumn air, the small of coffee, apple, chocolate, and flowers filled his nose.
"Hi y'all! What can I get y'all today?" The barista asked, a smile plastered on her face. "Hello, uhm, we wanna look at the menu, we don't really know what we want," Shannon said, "That's fine, take your time y'all," She said with the smile still on her face. Layne and Shannon talked amongst themselves, trying to figure out what they wanted, what they were craving.
They both decided on a nice cup of hot coffee, along with a cup of apple cider, and a chocolate croissant, along with a slice of warm apple pie. They sat down that the small table, which had a candle lit. It had been awhile since Layne and Shannon had been out on a outing like this, they hadn't been on a proper date in some time, it was just so nice to finally get out of the house, and not be on tour, with all the crazy energy. They just wanted peace and quiet, calmness and serenity.
"Gosh its just so damn beautiful out here," Shannon said, his eyes sparkling in the light of the sun, making Layne smile. "Yeah, it really is," Layne said as he sipped some coffee. Layne reached over and grabbed Shannon's hand, kissing the back of his hand. "I love you, more than anything," Layne said, earning a blush from Shannon. "I love you too," Shannon said, leaning over the table to exchange a kiss between him and Layne.
After they finished their sweet little Autumn treats, they left the cozy cafè, walking around the lake, enjoying how beautiful mother nature was, enjoying the togetherness of eachother, the presences of eachother, exchanging kisses to one another every couple of minutes . . . .
