Work Text:
Asahi slid open the door leading to the garden in front of his room, the chilling night air rushed into his bedroom. The clock on his phone showed it was 11 PM, the night life has just barely begun, but he decided he just want to stay at home and enjoy the night in solitude. With a glass of water in hand, he sat down on the veranda and closed his eyes, his mind wandered as he felt the night air brushed against his skin.
“Yo, Asa-chan.”
Asahi almost spit the water in his mouth out, his daydream broken at the sound of the greeting. Who he saw perched on top of the wall separating the estate with the outside world was the head of someone he did not expect to see tonight.
“Shinnosuke-san?! What- How did you get here?!”
“I walked, of course.”
Asahi could clearly hear the heavy breaths coming from the intruder. He folded his hands and rolled his eyes.
“Liar. You definitely ran here.”
“Ah oops, you caught me, hehe.” The right hand man stuck his tongue out
“Get in, hurry! Or else Rin will see you from the outside and beat the crap out of you!”
Shinnosuke hopped over the concrete wall, landing on the green grass illuminated by the moonlight. It was a full moon that day, giving the usually dark front garden some more illumination beyond the small lights dotting the garden.
“What are you doing here, anyway?”
“I just wanted to see you.”
“Didn’t you say you were busy today?”
“Yeah, but somehow we wrapped stuff up quicker than I thought. The thief who messed with that small shop in our territory was quick to admit he’s the one behind everything. So I was free tonight.”
“But what about your cousins, or even your boss?”
The young master was aware of the consequences of this relationship. Not just for him, but also his partner. A young master? Dating another family’s lackey? Not to mention he is a guy and the most trusted one by the head of the family in the group?
All hell would break loose and everything will turn complicated.
“I just told them I’m going out to the convenience store for a bit, but don’t worry, I’ll actually get them something after seeing you.”
The young master sighed but smiled anyway, unable to refuse the man he proudly called his lover, though in secret. He patted his thigh, eyes still fixed on the lackey in front of him.
“Alright, come here.”
“Huh?”
“You must be tired after all of your work earlier, right? This is the least I could do.”
“Aw, sleeping on the young master’s lap? I’m honoured.”
“But I’m not just a young master to you right now, right?”
Shinnosuke just smiled and walked over, sitting next to the younger man before resting his head on his lover’s thighs. He loudly exhaled, as if a ton of weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
Asahi stroked the older man’s cheeks, brushing some of his hair away so that he could see his face more clearly before settling on the bed of hair tickling his thighs. He slowly traced his fingers along the face features of the lackey, inspecting whether or not the "work" gave him physical injuries.
“Thank God you’re not hurt anywhere.”
“Don’t worry, that thief wouldn’t be able to hurt me that easily.”
There was comfort in the silence as the moon hung high in the inky black sky, distant stars dotted the sky despite being drowned out by the light pollution coming from the city.
It was a few minutes before Shinnosuke broke the silence.
“Hey, young master?”
“Yeah?”
“Thank you for existing in my life.”
Shinnosuke closed his eyes for a brief moment, leaving Asahi to gaze upon his lover’s sleeping face. He rarely saw him this vulnerable. Outside of this mansion, Shin always looked cautious, like he always ready to throw a punch at someone who dared to pick a fight with him.
Someone that scary, yet he’s the one under him in bed moaning his name. It’s funny, the young master thought. But does that really matter right now?
“... I love you too, Shinnosuke-san.” He uttered those quiet words.
Those words were not unheard, as Shin snuggled closer onto Asahi’s stomach, the warm feeling brought comfort amongst the chilly air.
Asahi craned his neck up, his right hand still resting on the head of his resting lover.
The moon was beautiful that night.
