Even if the World Must be Sacrificed

Summary:

Even if Harry had to give up everything, he'd do it in a heartbeat for Severus.

This is more of a continuation of a one-shot I wrote.

Work Text:

The Light had one, though their greatest weapon ended up being a Dark wizard.

Harry had always tried to hide away the darkness that lingered in his mind, but he was unsuccessful during the last battle. He had tried every Light spell he knew, but it was all in vain. He had to use Snape’s curse to cut off Voldemort's serpentine head.

Then, the man who was just barely old enough to be an adult by wizarding standards, had run off like a bat out of hell without checking on his allies. When he next found, he was dragging a barely alive Snape up the stairs to castle from the boathouse.

Snape was bleeding, sure, but that was something Hermione and Ron said shouldn't have been possible. The two said that they had watched Snape die from a mix of poison and blood loss, and nothing short of some disgustingly Dark and twisted magic could have brought him back.

Harry was obviously the culprit of that magic, and the Light began to move against their savior.

It took Severus Snape a month to become conscious and recover enough to have a decent conversation, though he could only write out what he wanted to say.

Harry made it clear to Severus that there would be no running away. Harry desperately needed some stability, and it would have to come from the man who was unstable in almost every sense of the word.

Sure, Severus was fearful of Harry at first, but he quickly resigned himself to his fate. He slipped out of St. Mungo's and arrived at Harry’s side just as the Light came to capture the one who saved them all. He dueled brilliantly against those who wished to harm Harry, and the young man seemed to glow in happiness.

It was a small moment of peace for Harry, having the one who he loved the most by his side.

The Light seemed repulsed, but they were completely overpowered by the rejuvenated Harry. They didn't stand a chance when Harry loosened his grip on his power as the Master of Death. They had no choice but to fall back.

It was then that Severus grabbed Harry and Dis-apparated them to a safer location.

Harry laughed joyously as he hugged Severus. He held the older man’s hand, and he cheerfully chirped, “Let's go on vacation. I've always wanted to see Majorca.”

Severus stared incredulously for a moment before giving a small noise of exasperation. “Harry, you are, without a doubt, just as much of a dunderhead as your father. You'll be wanted as a criminal–”

“Then, let's go to some vacant place! I'm sure Russia will be fine!” Harry urged. “I'm good with camping!”

Severus raised an eyebrow.

“Magically,” Harry added on with a nervous grin.

Severus sighed heavily. “It'll be wiser to stay in some places you know the language of.”

Harry blinked once. “I know a bit of Bulgarian.”

Severus looked at Harry in surprise.

Harry merely shrugged in reply. “Krum couldn't manage to translate everything into English.”

“Let’s go somewhere remote in Bulgaria then,” Severus suggested.

“Okay!” Harry chirped happily as he tugged Severus along. He would be glad to live with his one precious person, even if he had to sacrifice the entire world to do so.
