Work Text:

“What are you doing?” Mikey asked, looking at his son.

Kenjiro stopped chewing and looked at his dad as well.

“I’m eating taiyaki,” The kid replied.

“I know but…” Mikey chuckled. “Why are you eating it by the tail?”

“Oh!” Kenjiro smiled. “I learnt it from you!” He replied.

“Me?”

“Yep! I saw you eating taiyaki by the tail too!” He answered with a bright smile. “I asked papa why you eat it that way and he said it’s because you like to taste the dough first without the paste, and then continue eating from there,” Kenjiro told him. “And I found that I like it that way too! It’s a great idea, daddy!”

That little smile made Mikey happy to be a dad for the first time since he found out about Kenjiro. In that precise time, he realized that he could do this, despite his fears, he could be a dad and made his kid eager to learn from him.

“It is, right? Here, have another one,” Mikey smiled and handed him another taiyaki.

“Yay! Thanks, daddy!” The child exclaimed happily, chewing the taiyaki right by the tail again.

The End.

Notes:

Thank you so much to each of you that followed me during this long journey.

This is one of my craziest (?) ship and I enjoyed writting this about them.

Happy Halloween!!!
