Chapter Text
“Is everything alright, Prince Jubelo?”
The younger prince shook his head, hiccuping from his crying as he tried to wipe the tears still on his face. “I got… I got scared, all of a sudden. Ever after everything’s over.”
Marth nodded, sitting down next to Jubelo, ignoring the ache that spread from his lower back. “And since Lorenz is talking to Jagen about matters on the other side of the ship, you didn’t felt like going to find him, I presume.”
“Not really…” Jubelo sniffled. “I… I didn’t wanted to worry too many people. So… I waited it out.”
“That’s quite brave of you,” Marth noted. “But do try and seek out someone if it happens again, alright? There’s a chance it could be something more serious.” He reached out and stroked Jubelo’s hair. “It’s easier when there’s someone there to support you at your weakest. I’ve been in that spot plenty of times, admittedly” A small smile appeared on the older prince’s lips. “But I had people that helped me when it happened. Each time I felt like I was trapped, others came and brought the solution to bring me out of that darkness. It’s thanks to them… I can stand on my own two feet like I do now.”
Jubelo exhaled, his shoulders relaxing. “Do you think… I can be like you when I become older?”
“You’re seeing me as a role model, huh…” Marth’s smile turned sheepish. “I don’t think you have to be exactly like me, Jubelo… What I think you should do is watch how I walk my path, and see what can apply to the one you wish to follow. And do the same with your other mentors.”
“Create my own path by observing my mentors’…”
“Exactly. One day, that path will help you be less afraid of the world. Until then, lean on us mentors, especially when fear grabs you out of nowhere.”
Jubelo nodded. “Understood, Prince Marth… I’ll take those words at heart!”
