Suddenly, the whole world was quiet for him.
Pure serenity, nothing of the sort he was used to. All of the thoughts in his mind seemed to exit his head at once, and he felt so… at peace. The white void engulfed him, so that he could almost feel the misty emptiness against his face.
He couldn't think about anything. All of it seemed so… pointless to him; miniscule compared to the world he was faced with.
It was dead silent except for a vague echo of familiarity somewhere in the abyss beyond him. Sound waves seemed to move freely here without dampening, but they also faded out mysteriously out of his reach of hearing.
PB couldn't help but stare, marveling silently at nothing. He's never seen… pure nothing, quite like this. All of the vacant space with so much room to fill- the busy world that he knew as the S*n, the company known as Lumynex that ran behind the scenes- all of them couldn't compare to this.
He forgot everything beforehand; the escaping predicament, and got carried away by the void's soft whispers of incoherent sound waves.
Low waves, high waves, fast waves, sluggish waves; different frequencies were traveling through this otherworldly space so freely, and he felt some urge to join them.
But alas, his body could not venture out where he wanted to so desperately go.
A voice in the void spoke out between the many others that were clashing.
"Goodmorning?"
He didn't realize where the voice was coming from. A figure, hovering above him, examining his expressionless face so carefully.
"Goodmorning."
The voice was familiar. It was smooth, comforting, and… made him remember something. The thought drifted away before he could grab it.
"PB, can you hear me?" The voice asked curiously.
He couldn't respond.
"PB…"
The figure, to Pipebomb, was a blurry collection of dark-blue shapes. They were aligned in a horizontal line, the ones furthest away from him getting smaller.
The voice belonged to a telescope, but PB couldn't see it.
A dark, dull, navy blue telescope; she had soft aquamarine eyes with a beautiful, shimmery lens on her face that was tinted white.
Pipebomb couldn't feel that he was crying subconsciously. Somewhere deep inside him, he missed something that he had lost a long time ago. Something he had forgotten.
This… memory that was stolen from him. He yearns for it again.
But it is lost knowledge now, and Pipebomb will never be able to retrieve it.
So is the way of life in this place, and he cannot bend the rules nature sets out for them. Or does nature not make the rules here in the S*n?
"Pipebomb… you need to go." She whispered hurriedly, grabbing the sides of his face with some kind of panic. He didn't understand.
"My patient… please, leave before you can't. I don't want to see you get erased again…"
The telescope's voice cracked just barely- she held onto his face still, staring with meaningful eyes. She looked so pretty to him.
She began to lightly push him back into the room he was just trying to escape from, and he felt a remorse of some kind stirring within him.
The white void's sound waves… were changing. He could hear them. The waves were bouncing off of each other with an energy that wasn't present before. Something was coming. Something was disturbing the peace.
Then PB's stomach sank so heavily; he felt sick, like he was going to upheave all of his stomach's contents at once. The roar, the sound, the noise- it was coming fast.
The screams of many; the souls, the thoughts, the feelings, the lives of all who had previously entered here-
"PB! PLEASE- LEAVE NOW!"
The sudden shrieking of the girl he once used to know broke the silence, and the sound waves were agitated and ear-grating- his head spun sickeningly. His world turned upside down as the void sang in its dissonant harmony.
Agonizing, pained yells and wails that came from the darkening, decaying walls deafened PB beyond what his senses could handle- the void was rotting away, being burned off of the walls. A black, discomforting void was revealed- and then so many blinding lights came up to sting his eyes all at once.
Explosions, glass shattering, and that awful ringing sound came crashing into him in a cacophonous roar- and then he unexpectedly slipped back through the wall he entered in, being tugged from his legs.
The last image he saw became burned into his mind. His operator fell away from him, and her body started melting and dissolving like she was being pulled apart at the atomical level. She cried and grabbed her face, saying things he couldn't understand, and then she was gone as the black void fully overtook. He felt so sorry for her. He wanted to mourn her- because she was gone. He felt a part of himself disappear, and that part of him was now empty, like the white void.
The screams of the patients still rattled him even hours after.
And each soundwave that he heard now put a feeling of intense unease in him.
