Work Text:
Norton and Orpheus had a rough match today. It was on Sacred Heart Hospital and their hunter had to be Naiad.
Orpheus flunked his kite early game and had to be rescued after half. They got a tie in the end though mainly because Orpheus bodyblocked for Norton to get out of the gate.
Norton and him argued for hours and hours after post match. Arguing how Norton was gate-waiting, how Orpheus kited for 7 seconds from Naiad and did a rebound kite to make up for those seconds just for Norton to gate-wait.
It was really heated and they said some nasty stuff to each other.
Alice suggested them to cool down for a bit before they go and heal up before their next match.
Orpheus decided to go and heal up in his room since he heard that Norton was healing up in medbay. He would rather avoid that as they would just hiss and growl at each other like cats.
He was mid way bandaging his wounds from the match before hearing a knock on his door. Expecting it was Alice, he opened the door before seeing it was Norton. He was already healed up by Emily, he could tell because of the clean wrapping of bandages and it wasn't falling off easily.
"Norton, what an unexpected visit. I thought you would avoid me throughout the entire day after out qurral." Orpheus teased him, knowing someone had begged him to make things right with him.
"I came over to help you heal, Orpheus. Don't you dare get your hopes up."
Norton growled before Orpheus closed the door behind him.
"Well isn't that a surprise. I thought you sucked at bandaging."
"Shut."
To Orpheus's surprise, he was doing a decent job at bandaging him. Maybe someone taught him so he could do it on his own. He wanted to pry but knowing the situation right now he held his tongue.
After they were healed, they went into their next game. Their hunter was Jack the Ripper and the match was in Leo's Memory.
Their Mind's eye had gotten into basement so Norton went into rescue and harass with Priestess before Orpheus primed his cipher.
All the sudden the match turned upside down because the hunter teleported to the primed cipher leaving Orpheus wounded and defenseless. He was unable to prime it in time.
Norton insisted he wanted to rescue and he did. Orpheus did tease him a bunch and Norton wishing he was dead which backfired and caused Orpheus to become the sacrifice for their win.
Orpheus is now in the medbay since he didn't have the energy to walk up to his room. Emily wasn't available at that time since she's in a match right now. So he started to undo the wet bloody bandages off his body and started to pat himself dry before hearing someone step in.
It was Norton again. This time he immediately walked over to Orpheus to help him to clean him up and bandage him again.
Orpheus couldn't tell why he wanted to do it, all he knew is that he had this look on his face that he felt guilty of what he said.
Orpheus was almost done healing before he let out a small chuckle,
"What?" Norton's eyes furrowed in frustration before Orpheus looked up at him with a cheeky smile.
"Norton, you say and claim that you hate me all the time. Wanting me dead and wished I bled out in matches... Yet here you are, saving my ass and healing me in this very room right now."
He leaned in closer to Norton and whispered in his ear and get some flush of red on his face,
"You're aware that you're really bad at lying, right?"
Norton angrily tugged on a cast tightly which caused Orpheus to irked in pain before Norton properly secured it and got up.
"I don't need to deal with your antics right now, Orpheus. "
"Say all you want.. your face is turning red~"
Norton quickly realised before he moved away from medbay and bumped into Alice on his way out. Alice walked in a bit confused before coming up to Orpheus and sat beside him,
"I guess you made up with him?"
"Maybe more damage than done." He chuckled before Alice sighed
"Orpheus..." she facepalmed as she returned her gaze onto the bandages. They looked really neat, somewhere near the skill of a doctor's work. She was intrigued since Emily wasn't available to heal Orpheus.
"Who healed you, Orpheus? The bandage work looks really neat."
He looked at the bandage work and felt a weird sensation in his chest before he smiled.
"I'd rather keep it a secret."
